Except he didn't.

He would've lost against Seto and Yugi/Atem anyway since he wouldnt be able to controll Ra and either of them would've had 2 god cards in the finals.

No matter how much he improves, he will always be the third best at most.

No big deal, Marik wasn't a good duelist.

the optimal way to win in the anime if you are a villain is to use a burn deck in tandem with a shadow game.

Attached: 51ZLoMP3YPL.jpg (330x480, 44K)

Why was Marik so shitty?

Didn't 4kids make it so they go to "the shadow realm" rather than dying?

Did Jonouchi die here?

Doing this brooklyn accent makes it really difficult to focus on card games

Does anybody else think its funny that Marik just hung around the airship waiting for the rest of the cast to do that whole Virtual Reality plotline?

He got better

The episode is called Jounouchi Dies.

>Does anybody else think its funny that Marik just hung around the airship waiting for the rest of the cast to do that whole Virtual Reality plotline?

He can't do anything to Yugi unless he beats him in a children's card game. So his hands were tied. There was nothing he could do.

Attached: 25^123^12.png (526x1199, 878K)

It sounds hilarious when you put it that way.

There's an episode of the show where he gets bored and lonely because the rest of the cast is off doing something else, and he just wanders around the airship impotently looking for somebody to play with

He wouldn't have gotten there if Marik hadn't screwed over Rishid.

This, he didn't deserve to get there

What happened in the manga?

Imagine Joey using the Ra.

Is that arc even in the manga? That screams of anime-original filler arc

It was anime only

Yugi was never really like that.

That and the whole shadow realm thing.

I don't understand the anger this duel caused. Joey was never going to beat the big bad, but by having the duel play this way he "wins" while leaving Yugi to beat the big bad.

I was so fucking mad.

Then i got this fucking bullshit, and I'm still fucking mad.

Attached: faggot of smile breaking.jpg (928x718, 135K)

Anime duels are hard as shit because you only have 4000LP meaning its easy to lose before you use even a 16th of your deck.

Real life duels are hard as shit because it's easy to lose before you even get your first turn.

member yata lock?

>had a card stronger than Obelisk
way to make the god cards look dull

This.
I remember having a deck as a kid and it was nearly impossible to go longer than a few turns.
That and actually knowing the rules was rare.

>4000LP
Wasn't it 2000LP in earlier seasons?

Best boy.

>we now live in a time where you could embed cards with electronic programs to make sure counterfeits were rare and so that they could be used for electronic battles
>could literally have real yu gi oh today but nobody is funding the hologram tech or any of this

WHY.

Attached: d6c5iqa-6d7a3cb2-f294-42f1-af8c-8040f9bbf319.png (187x195, 18K)

What was its effect in the anime again?

he ate a bunch of monsters to power up to 6000~

Those god cards ruined yu gi oh as a concept for a game. The game could have been really interesting if they perfected it. But it suffered from the power level / legendary card curse.
I would honest to god be interested a real well construed card game involving holographics and data embedded cards. That shit would blow the world away.

Because unfortunately (or fortunately?) our world has no one as rich, powerful, and autistic as Kaiba to do it.

Also nice trips.

Nothing wrong with the god cards imo. They were overpowered and needed to be played around. But they also weren't overpowered in a "vertical" way like in DBZ one character would effortlessly destroy someone with a lesser powerlevel. Instead you'd have to change how you play to be able to summon them and make 3 sacrifices.

Atem only used one god card in the final duel because he knew playing multiple would be too heavy. This shows how god cards can be a big boost and OP but not all powerful.

I just want a proper Yu-Gi-Oh VR game. AR/holograms might be nice in the show but I don't think I'd have a lot of fun dueling an actual human being like that.

I used to be so fucking good at Yugioh
I had this card that went up 1000 atk every turn and my 3rd grade friends were too dumb to stop it
It was some anteater

He won my heart

I'm still mad as fuck as well. He fucking deserved to win.

Attached: 1559264055552.gif (500x257, 1.78M)

Some other guy than ash won, but why did people get mad?

I wonder if the youtube live streamer did end up necking him self in the end

It was the first time Ash made it to tournament finals, his team composition was actually good with him acting competent all season, and it was the third time Greninja faced off against Charizard after losing the first 2 but making major improvements since.

Greninja also fainted from taking 2 attacks, while Zard tanked a ton, including a never before seen super powered water shuriken.

That's it. Now I have a life dream.

whats the point of this type of character?

your post doesn't make any sense at all
pokeshit belongs on the pokemon board, this isn't news

I agree that the sacrifice idea works with them, but they were still a little overpowered to the point where as soon as played it, the game was over unless the other dude had another god card.

I had a mate whom I bought a booster pack for and he got fucking Slifer the Sky Dragon. Not only was I angry that I gave it to him, but I was also angry that I could barely beat him when he had it.
Thank god I had an indonesian friend with a whole pile of counterfeit god cards (not those shiny sticker ones either, they were solid counterfeits) that gave me a couple god cards.

They were balanced by requiring three tributes which in the old days was a big fat FUCK NO considering how easy it was to get rid of beatsticks back then.

But that sounds like a fun world 2bh.
Real yu gi oh would be srs fucking business I reckon if someone funded it.
The tools are there, the money is not.

How to win literally any anime duel in the original yugioh

T1 summon marauding captain and another marauding captain so they cant attack you now unless they use fissure or some shit and set my body as a shield

T2 Use raigeki then summon a third monster use united we stand and BAM you win because they only have 4000 lifepoints.

And he would have lost to Odion if MAGIC BULLSHIT hadn't occurred.

You live by luck and bullshit, you die by luck and bullshit.

Attached: August 18, 2016.jpg (1100x9000, 1.63M)

T1 Set Des Koala
Set Mirror Force/Sakuretsu/Waboku/.Negate Attack

Flip Des Koala 7 cards in hand means 7x4 so they get 2800 damage.

T2
Use A shallow grave to bring it back in face down position or another one

then laugh as you fucking win the duel when they flip it over.

Remember only 4000 lifepoints boys

That's depressing

The anime decks are godawful with no consistency or coherent win condition they seem to be random cards that are just meant to be shilled.

Depends. It could spurn a decent tournament system if properly made, to the point of actually earning attention and money.
And it would be motivation to finally find people.. but the problem is there will be too many faggot neckbeards and weeaboos in cosplay and not enough serious fucking duellists.

To make it work you'd have to get mainstream normal faggots into it. The way to do that is to maintain a real degree of integrity in the game and a system that makes sure nobody cheats in it. You'd also might have to redesign the cards to make it competitive and entertaining to play/watch.

Buy Salamangreats!

Attached: SORUBANA.png (1920x1080, 981K)

But arent most anime cards unreleased? I kinda wanted to see ancient chaos golem fusion being a thing but idk why it isn't.

I made fun of him before, but stopped after I experienced something similar devastating for my heart.

There are way too many bugs in the game itself. The game needs to be redesigned 2bh.

Is Pegasus canonically dead?

Attached: Empress.png (315x375, 276K)

>It's always sunny theme plays

I agree they're buggy, but the lack of consistency is what makes yu gi oh as a game an interesting idea. I don't know too many games with so many unique uses of cards.
They really need to start a new standard of yu gi oh cards, observe what happens in battles, tweak the cards to make sure it doesn't turn into the same shit that competitive pokemon turned into.

The cards seem to be made more for collection rather than for interesting gaming. If they stop that, the brand could be revitalised completely and people may consider it more seriously as a "sport".
You'd have to rebrand it as merely inspired by the anime though or people are just going to see it as collectable cards that can be used in games that never really are competitive. You'd have to make it less weeaboo orientated too.

Those duel disks are the stupidest looking things. Couldn't they make them look less like beyblades?

>not revealing your never before seen new card at the most critical time in the duel to instantly win it because the most absurd activation requirement for it was just met at this exact moment right after your draw

yep. bakura fucking killed him

Attached: 1509042816599.jpg (728x1132, 136K)

Attached: ZeroExtraLink-JP-Anime-VR.png (585x860, 660K)

Duel disk in honesty would be annoying as shit to use. Theres a reason people still sit at tables to play card games. I mean how would you even see what the guy played?

i should know i had a duel disk. fucked my cards and boxed them, took 10 min to take my deck out to save my cards.

Well don't they have some screens to show that?
I never understood that either.
I would have thought they'd use machines you could input the cards into and have the machine read them, display them to the other side and then perhaps display a hologram of the match in between the two players.

VR is an idea, but actual holograms would be sweet.

>licking blood from the eye.
Why do people even like this faggot?

Vrains takes place in cyberspace right? Why the fuck dont they just make the cards levitate in mid air no duel disk required? You just grab a card from your hovering hand then do something that makes the card glow and it summons a monster or does an effect or something.

>but the problem is there will be too many faggot neckbeards and weeaboos in cosplay and not enough serious fucking duellists.
Those people ARE the serious duellists
>To make it work you'd have to get mainstream normal faggots into it.
This would only bring people that don't take the game seriously

>Those people ARE the serious duellists
Nonsense. They are not serious gamers.
If serious gamers played the game then they would lose.
>that don't take the game seriously
Money would change that.

Playmaker, Soulburner and Ai are the only characters in Vrains who use phyiscal duel disks and holding cards on their hands

Attached: Ai and Playmaker.jpg (1280x1440, 450K)

THYME WIZAHD

What if they combined yu gi oh with gambling and used a single deck between two players?

Attached: 2b_being_qt.jpg (850x850, 95K)

Sometimes they had fake spoilers.

Attached: 08b.jpg (640x705, 42K)

>muh spoilers wah wah
Caring about "spoilers" is a millennial zoomer construct. No generations previous were ever concerned about such things, indeed it was common for synopses of a work of fiction to describe the entire plot. Works were meant to be enjoyed in their ENTIRETY, to watch how they play out and handle each scene leading into the next. It wasn't dependent on surprise twists or being completely in the dark about what was going to happen at the end. If you had to use such gimmicks to hold your audiences' attention, you're a low tier creator

wait what the fuck is 死す I thought it was 死ぬ THEY CAN'T DO THIS TO ME

死す is older and more commonly used in text than spoken japanese

y'all ever just fantasize about going into this anime and pwning every single person with your monster of a fucking deck?

Mechanically speaking, Joey and Odion were the best duelists. Everyone else was only "better" through ancient egyptian cheat codes.

>I activate Toim Wizord, which makes all your monsters weak while somehow making my own monster stronger.

He cheated. He was using a counterfit card which is clearly cheating so he lost.

This. I love the idea of occult rituals played through a card game and it sucks how they've gotten away from that.

I always check out all the new card game shows and none of them do anything close. I wish we could get a new series with similar themes

>He was using
Marik put it into his deck without his consent and he didn't need it anyway.

I wish your wife orbited my d ick.

Joey's deck was like 65% luck based. Fuck him.

Attached: 36814182_p2.jpg (800x630, 359K)

he still used the card. That is cheating.

When a card has insane drawbacks like anime Geh it better get something like infinite attack. The only reason it remotely works is because the rest of his deck is broken and the anime avoids most staples that would turn it into a suicide card.

Luck is a part of skill.

I just read up on him having not finished the anime
and basically Temple of the king can either

>Activate 1 trap card
>Special summon a monster from either norma or extra deck
>Summon Serket the bullshit beast and ?? send temple of the king to the graveyard ??

The last one is badly phrased on the card description and I don't get it, you need temple of the king to be able to use Serket

And he lost, thought he was the better play so he deserved to win in an honest battle without Marik going retard all the time.

What? Explain.

His only goal was to cause as much pain and suffering as possible.

If Joey actually had real cards in his deck maybe he'd win once in a while

You usually try to keep your chances to a minimum by using strategy.
It's not a skill by flipping a coin and then go "head, I win"

All card games with a shuffled deck are luck based.
Yugi and so many others bullshits their way through matches using decks where barely any of the cards have synergy with each other, and just are always lucky enough to draw the cards that do work together at the same time.

Reminder that Kaiba beat Joey twice fair and square and that Joey is his bottom bitch.

Attached: 49458951_p4.jpg (1032x1418, 175K)

God cards are pretty shit in the actual meta, except maybe Obelisk. In the show I don't feel like they were too OP since most of the time they were either used against another god card or defeated (Yugi vs Marik 1)

No,i fantasize about going into this anime and plowing this absolute cutie

Attached: cute coconut.png (1280x738, 485K)

Yeah but at the end of the day Kaiba and Yugi still have a strategy. Joey's entire strategy is to rely on shit like Time Wizard and Graceful Dice and stupid shit. Fuck him.

Will Yugioh ever make another monster with infinite attack points in the anime again?

Peak writing.

Marik hanging out on the blimp and eventually going "fuck this, I'm bored" and wrecking shit was the best part of that arc. Which isn't saying a lot, but man.

Just two more months and it'll be 3 years old by then

He wasn't important to the course of the story.

>Does anybody else think its funny that Marik just hung around the airship waiting for the rest of the cast to do that whole Virtual Reality plotline?
This made me drop the series as a kid, even when I was a retarded 9 year old I was like there are 2 comatose people on board, the evil spirit that was once relentless to kill Yugi is now just chilling "I'll just sit here until you are done with these 5 who's, who never eve had names until now"

>2400
>vanilla
>two tributes
Go fuck yourself

People are actually using Aqua Dolphin in the meta

To be fair, he did beat Marik in that fatal four way.

It would be a big deal and refreshing that it wouldn't be Yugi ending the big bad.

I miss Megumi Ogata

I guess part of the point was for those duels to sort of cancel each other out so he comes across as a legitimate semifinalist as far as skill

Why did those shitty 2 tribute cards even exist when Summoned Skull was around already from the start?

Virtual World is so badly placed, but Kaiba's backstory is pretty fucking important to understanding his character and why he needs to win Battle City for himself, and they had to squeeze it in somewhere before the finals. It just sucks it was right there. Its probably the best filler arc though because it did borrow stuff from the manga.

What a legend.

Was the whole "you have to be a real egyptian sorcerer to summon Ra" thing an asspul?

Not really, it was somewhat foreshadowed and Kaz could've just wrote the duel another way if he didn't want that part.

At the very least VR should be extremely doable. In fact it's the perfect candidate, you don't have to move at all and it's easy to fuck with a virtual disc on your arm

>not using the superior burn spell

Attached: best card desu.jpg (400x580, 53K)

How quickly could a modern top meta deck beat the deck that Yugi used? Would he even have any chance of winning at all, assuming he always makes the best draws?

HE FUCKING WON

Attached: O'Brien.jpg (640x360, 32K)

I don't know too much about the meta but things are so broken I doubt Yugi would stand a chance unless he makes the best draws. Some of the card he plays are more or less sustainable (Dark Magician isn't good, but the support it gets makes it a bit less shit)

but yeah you'd most likely get destroyed because of powercreep

>unless he makes the best draws
oh what are the odds of that

y'know, if i could cum liters of semen on command i'd make women drink it all day, but having some girl drink a bunch of lukewarm loads all mixed together just doesn't sit right with me

He never makes the best draw right from beginning because otherwise the duels would be too short.

Yeah, you could tell how disgusted she was as she was doing it too. It was like watching the worst episode of Fear Factor ever.

>Starts the duel with Kaiba
>Exodia instawin

Make Elon Musk care for Yugioh. works 100%.

Didn't she win before Jonouchi?

I discovered there's a whole series of 'cum on food' jav. Ai Uehara did one and literally the only scene I can jerk off to in that is the one where she brushes her teeth with cum.

Attached: mai_valentine__render__by_alanmac95_dbplifo-pre.png (639x1250, 1.03M)

Elon's too busy making catgirls real. I'm sorry, but that takes precedence.

The effects that make up the average yugioh deck
-Add card to hand or graveyard(the second hand)
-special summon from hand, graveyard, or deck
-Remove cards without targetting or destroying
-NO you can't play yugioh
So are there any current decks that even care about attack/defense manipulation.

Is that the same series that had the Rei Mizuna one? I watched that one and it was alright. You should check out Milky Cat stuff, their whole gimmick seems to be just doing weird/disgusting shit with cum.

SMILE WORLD

it ain't worth playing

Any deck that can shit out an entire swarm of monsters in one turn would auto win because Yugi has no field wiping spells or traps at all.

is this why crispr spiked?

eternal reminder that the GOAT cumplay jav is MIGD-358, when even the director (female) gets sucked into swapping cum with Aoi Shino, Misaki Yui, and Tsubomi.

Fuck you for reminding me this happened, every second that I remember, my day gets worse because it also reminds me of Tobias.

I've seen many japanese names in my years of reading manga and watchning anime but Jonouchi always stood out as bizarre

So close, yet so far.

>when you accidentally enter Ubers with your meme team

Thinking about it most meta decks from Glad Beast to up auto-win against Yugi, as they either don't care about battle destruction or they WANT to be destroyed by battle. Full power pepe and Dragon Rulers would completely and utterly decimate him in the least amount of turns, Blackwings would shrug most shit and prevent Yugi from even having access to the god cards to begin with, and Gouki just rips his entire hand while having at least 2 negates on field.

All this talk of old school Yugioh makes me want KOG to come back to Yea Forums. What happened to him anyway? I last saw him back in 2013 and then he just vanished.

>"mystery" hasn't been a category of media before

Ok faggot. Wanna guess how I know you're the kind of person who relentlessly spends hours and hours online spamming spoilers to any piece of upcoming media you know about?

It's always weird to hear about people actually stealing Yugioh cards from other players. One store in my area had a few guys who would, while looking thru someone's trade binder, slip cards into their backpacks while no one was paying attention and they got away with if for years because they were friends with the store owner. Then there was a time a grade schooler stole a shit tier deck from a local manchild because said grade schooler always lost against the shit deck and thought it was good.

>Wanna guess how I know you're the kind of person
I don't care what your fevered imagination tells you about me, but I can tell you I don't think about you at all

he's still here retard

The BDSM king

Fucking Chaos Control at its peak fucks over Yugi fairly and without trying. That's a deck from the fucking early GX Era. Yugi just had a fucking shit deck.

What?

Sleep Talk Heracross not defeating Darkrai was pure bullshit when that actually counters it in the real game.

>Gibble, Swellow, and Torcoal
Do you ever just stop and wonder if everyone making Pokemon hates Ash and enjoys seeing him fail?

Huh, didn't know that. Thanks.

I'm not so sure because Yugi can just replenish over and over again in what I assume is a 60+ deck, and getting banish is not really that big of a problem for him. Remember we are also counting his bullshit anime cards.

You clearly get angry at "millennial zoomers" every day because of your autistic belief that caring about a story is a modern invention.

>being this rattled
i don't even need to read your posts, i just skim it and see the vitriol
maybe take a breath user

Destroy all monsters on the field and remove from play all monsters in both players' Decks. Once per turn, each player can Special Summon 1 monster from their Graveyard. While this card is on the field, you can ignore the Summoning conditions required for Normal and Special Summons. When a monster Normal or Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed, remove it from play instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

Didn’t he made a deck based on gambling because his father was a drunk gambler that lost his money?

Isn't that like Batman making a deck based around guns?

Let's do this

If we're talking about Chaos Control he loses turn 1
>SS CED
>Normal Sangan/Witch

>Yugi has 1 draw to not lose
>1/60 chance of drawing Card if Sanctity which is the only thing that could possibly do anything
Or if we're talking about Goat Control
>Metamorphosis into Thousand Eyes
>Win
>Summon any of the Chaos Gang
>Win
>Draw into any of the sacky 1 of Goat Staoles
>Win

Chomp

Only a mod could know this much shit, boy this one is good shitposter to piss off mods to this extent.

The masked heroes and Evil heroes get support and might be decent, meanwhile neo spacians suck ass, yet they’re Jaden’s favorite heroes in every artwork

Elementals are also more aesthetic to children too so they make more sense for marketing.

He does use banned cards though so he may have a small chance, as long as the plot demands it that is.

So does that mean that Judai is smarter than Manjoume?

Yugi also has bullshit like Kuriboh + Multiply = Never ending indestructible wall of respawning furballs

Did they even reference how he died in the anime? I don't remember them even glossing over it, he just showed up out of the blue

,

>penis penis penis penis penis puffer?

How could anyone take Kaiba seriously if he won his own tournament that he specifically altered the rules of the game for? Such a little shit.

Jounouchi's duels in the Battle City finals have opposite results. Jounouchi should have lost against Rishid but won because of Ra BS. Jounouchi should have beaten Malik but lost because of Ra BS.

Because he is cute.

Attached: d4275ebd444e4612b780c667d972ae2f--seto-kaiba-creativity.jpg (600x900, 63K)

Post deck, fag, lets see if all that is just talk.

Kaiba's own rules were self-imposed nerfs, his iconic cards needing 2 tributes, and their super-fusion not being allowed to attack on the turn it was summoned.
He was only giving everyone else a fair shot.

I always wondered why they didn't use x3 Alexandrite Dragons, x3 Pot of Greeds, x3 Magic Cylinders etc. Was their a ban list in universe?

In-universe they are restricted to 1 Monster Reborn, and I think at one point IIRC direct burn-damage magic cards were stated banned under regular rules when brainwashed Joey fought Yugi.

Raigeki too was mentioned as banned(maybe only in the manga, I'm not sure). A better question would be why Kaiba, a duelist who is all about overwhelming power, didn't use Panther Warrior, which was a level 4 2000 attack beatstick with no drawback in the manga.

>How quickly could a modern top meta deck beat the deck that Yugi used?
Turn 2 if meta deck went first.
Turn 2 if yugi went first. Meta absolutely wrecks yugi's deck, for him to have the slightest chance he'd need to run an engine in the first place and put some ash blossoms and danger!s.

Attached: Neo_Buru_Eis_Urutimatu_Doragob.jpg (473x720, 229K)

iirc the writers said that ash can never win a league because it would end his journey. That's why he got blast burned against edgeboy.

Damn would it? Is that all he wants? To win a single trophy? And then his whole life is just...over?

>dumb /vp/faggots acting like this is some mindblowing conspiratorial bombshell
Wow, a garbage adventure-of-the-day anime made for the drooling child demographic is going to continue status quo for as long as it remains profitable, who could have guessed

Any half competent deck from any era has a pretty good chance at beating Yugi's deck because he just uses a bunch of one-ofs and bricks with practically no deck synergy. Who the fuck plays DM, Magnet Warriors, and Egyptian Gods in a single deck?

kek

Yugi(Atem) literally has magical powers to move the card he wants to the top of the deck. That's not strategy, that's cheating.

>Who the fuck plays DM, Magnet Warriors, and Egyptian Gods in a single deck?
Someone with the magical ability to draw exactly the card they need in any given situation.

I mean technically its pure skill then, which means Atem is playing purely without luck on his part.

Fairy box used to absolutely brutalize my opponents.

>Yugi and Joey finally go head to head in DK
>Yugi just continuously plays monsters in attack mode and never makes any real plays
>Joey tries to outplay him with Grave Robber, Time Wizard, Copycat, Shield and Sword

This is when I knew this show was complete bullshit and was never going to give Joey a win against any important character.

Coincidentally, I just watched this episode The dub is fun, but they nerffed these particular episodes.

I've been watching the dub too and while those episodes get undercut a bit it feels like the Orichalcos arc gets hurt the worst by censorship. The VR world dub is also really funny because it has to sidestep the brother putting a puppy in a gimp suit, planning to nuke the earth, and then being deleted.

From the bit of the dub I did watch I didn't like how it took away the entire Doma mystery(from the perspective of the characters). I liked how Yugi didn't even know what he was really up against for most of the arc in the Japanese version.

>tfw actually a Chinese gold farmer

That whole anti-twist attitude is some of the most poorly informed, pseudointellectual bullshit around. Knowing what's going to happen is a fundamentally different experience from not knowing. One allows you to live in the moment as the characters do, and the other allows you to see their actions in a more informed light than the characters themselves can. That's not necessary for some types of stories, and it's vastly preferable for other types. There wouldn't even be a need for continuity if that weren't the case, you could shuffle up sections up randomly and be a smug retard about how it didn't matter because it was meant to be enjoyed in its "ENTIRETY." Antiquated methods of storytelling aren't inherently superior by virtue of being old. You're a smug retard and I wish disease and injury upon you.

LOVE?

Attached: love.png (1846x2000, 2.72M)

Yugi never had a decent deck at any point. This is partly attributed to the fact that card rarity is actually meaningful in-universe, but also because he has the magical power to draw any card he wants, and that's not a joke, he's cheating the whole time.

Attached: Shingo Sawatari will never lose!.jpg (640x705, 142K)

How exactly DOES card distribution work in universe? Yugi's grandpa runs a game store but it seems like the only decent cards are one-of-a-kind and have to be won at tournaments or dug up in Egypt

>How exactly DOES card distribution work in universe?
It's a complete crapshoot. Deck building is treated as a skill but most duelists, even world class ones, don't know about the effects of most cards played by other high level duelists. It's hard to estimate the degree to which this is due to the apparent abundance of unknown cards or to all of the players being fucking retards. Confounding this issue are supernatural forces altering cards after they've been printed either temporarily or permanently, as well as cards from space and other dimensions, due to seto kaiba infecting reality with his autism.

Every deck has only one of every card, except Kaiba. Draws always get you the exact card you need for your completely planned combo, except if you are Joey, so duels are decided only by how far you planned your draws and combos.

Gozaborou was some thougth bastard

>once per duel

The other one that gets me is that one faggot with a team full of legendaries that sweeped the entire league with just a Darkrai until Ash forced him to use two more legendary pokemon he had for some reason

GX (the dub at least) mentions that Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End was banned in tournaments.

Maybe he should stop using Pikachu.

Kaiba?

The original Japanese version also mentioned it as well

>THOSANDS OF MILES AWAY

But pikachu is his best pokemon. He took out 3 OU pokemon in kalos finals

yugi literally built Joey as Duelist.
He had an out for every one of his cards. I mean for fucks sake, he gave him Time Wizard, fully knowing that his ace monster will always be at an advantage against it. Either with Joey self destructing or him getting a buff

Will Ash ever catch a legendary?

He had magic visions to help beat Ishizu on top of Blue Eyes magic draws. Also money to make busted decks if you want to count that

The god cards are terrible cards.

I assumed that was how Kaiba took over duel monsters by the time DSoD happened.

In DSoD his desk was actually competitive at the time it aired.

Maybe he should stop entering leagues with under evolved Pokémon.

The god cards were never meta honestly. The anime loves to configure situations where the character always gets what they need but even decks designed around the god cards today have trouble getting them out.

Except he beat Yugi after battle city to win back his Red Eyes. Kaiba would have underestimated him and would have been humiliated.

>Magic Cylinder

He just asked Yugi to hold onto the card until he becomes a true duelist that's worthy of it. He never had to win their duel to get it back.

Attached: Ash vs Harrison.jpg (1280x720, 199K)

There's a big difference. God cards were immune to card effects in the anime and had other niche effects. IRL they have almost no protection and were absolute shit. They were also released very late compared to when anime aired.
Even if you could summon one it can be rekt with smashing ground/fissure, d.d. warrior/lady/assailant, dark hole, torrential tribute (when another monster is played) and plenty of other cards. They were easy as fuck to deal with. They only got better recently with some cards that specifically help lv10 monsters or God cards directly and even now they're shit and not even in the top 100 decks.

Can be done. You cut the smaller card games down and have the characters explain less.

This guy has good taste.

So just assume the viewers already know everything or send them to look it up? That's retarded.

Yep. The episodes don't need to be bogged down with what mirror force does.
Just show the activation, show the effect. Done.
It's more visual, more thematic and keeps the focus on the character interactions, not the rulings.

This one wasnt so controversial, but I could potentially see why.

Blaziken appearing in Johto league was mad hype.

Well, it's Darkrai

No, that's dumb. There's a reason the anime does it. And there's a reason the manga shows the card text on page. A first time viewer would have a hard time trying to keep up with this shit. Also still probably not enough anyway.

That was honestly a little more annoying than what happened with Jonouchi. Jonouchi was mentally spent after all the shit Marik put him through, but Mai just got greedy and it blew up in her face.

did anyone else want to see Mokuba duel in this arc? Tristan, Duke, and Serenity got to duel, so why not Mokuba?

I imagined Mokuba would duel Noah, wanting to save Seto for once, and actually doing well until Noah cheats his way to victory. Then Seto takes over and defeats Noah.

No, it's smarter, because you involve the viewer's thoughts more.

Say you have a match where the main character is looking through their hand. Instead of narrating the effects and scenario in an internal speech, you can have to character give a quick rundown and have the viewer focus on the plays.

It's cooler to just have a character play something like Pot of Greed in a quick fashion, and explain the newer, heavier card effect quickly when needed.

And then you end up with a confusing mess, especially when you put everything on turbo mode.

Darkrai is a glass canon. They can't tank for shit.

In retrospect the "Shadow Realm" was probably an ingenious way to pass death censors considering the anime had a fuckton of soul-stealing to begin with.

Honestly the Shadow Realm sounds worse than simply dying, since it sounds like the equivilent of being stuck in hell.

The showcased some AR thing during worlds some time ago.

One of my favorite things about the Legacy of the Duelist game was that you could use modern (at the time- Links weren't introduced yet) decks against the decks that the characters were using in the anime at the time. Humiliating Duelist Kingdom Pegasus with a Qli deck was a ton of fun.

Attached: ApoqliphortTowers-NECH-EN-R-1E.png (307x450, 357K)

Making dumb decks in LotD was pretty fun. I wish that game had an actual budget, though, and the Switch version wasn't much better

Attached: Strongest Sheep.png (312x603, 309K)

The millennium item holders' weird habit of creating pocking dimensions when they duel really helped sell the concept. I still sometimes see people go "wait, there was no shadow realm at all in the Japanese version? But we saw Pegasus and Yugi dueling in it"

That is infuriating if you were a grown ass man that still plays and watches pokemon. Ash is forever condemned to be a jobber.

It also helps that Marik's penalty game against Mai was essentially trapping her mind in another dimension.

>its the worst one
But Zexal is damn solid in its second half (Zexal II).
There should be a nice guide png somewhere that tells you what you can skip to get to the good stuff. But the contents summarized:

Aliens come to earth to card game
Protag is a dumb shit but becomes very competent by the end
Probably best animation budget among all of them
Nice standing duels, not too gimmicky
good grils
colorful characters with lots of crazy reactions and chuuni elements
transformation scenes

If not Zexal, than maybe GX.
If you want to avoid disapointment, id stay away from Arc-V even if it had the most potential.

>how would you rank them?
oh

1. Zexal
2. GX
3. DM
4. 5Ds (might be better than DM, DM too slow)
5. Arc-V
6. Vrains (will rise above Arc-V it gets a decent ending, just feel like not much has happened after 100 episodes)

Honestly, GX might be the best overall though, a bit depressing towards the middle though

I never really got mad at any anime or cartoon, ever, and I watch a fuckton of weeb shit. But this fucking match grind my gears. What an absolute fucking utter bs.

BLASTO BAAN!

Thats right!

What's the issue with Arc-V? Also surprised to see the newer ones higher up since it's usually the first one that is considered to be the best.

There something like this for GX since there seems to be a lot of needless filler in the early sections?

sorry i actually found that too

Who wants to be ready for Yubel?

>galar has gyms so it probably has a league
Can't wait to see it happen again in 3 years.

This is nice, gotta agree with Manjoume-san being the best shit. After his shaky intro where he's salty as shit he's constantly been the most fun character to watch.

>What's the issue with Arc-V?
around City/Synchro arc writers were (iirc) being changed around and such, resulting in everything that was hinted at earlier just being forgotten and the series bled.
I amazed they even made it to heartland.

Basically:
All characters are caught up on the story and the first huge arc starts. Said arc is a shit show and is double-triple the length of everything else. New writers forget/doesn't know that the goal of the overall story was. Shit ending.

Sometimes I watch the first season and stop, its better that way

Probably because they were building up Ash, the bonafide children's self insert, as someone who was finally gonna overcome his shortcomings and after more than 15 years finally win a noteworthy league to prove his worth, only for those hope to be destroyed as always. It's very similar to that South Park episode where the the Smug Faggot Hockey Team beats the shit out of the Terminally ILL Children team, so they can't raise money to help their sick friend and he dies. Expected from the source material, but still fucked up.

The semi finals should have been between Yugi, Kaiba, Rishid and Marik.

i am always ready to accept her (him) into my heart

Attached: yuberu ; __;.png (1040x1518, 1.43M)

Well Ishizu was cheating with her magic item and it's not like Kaiba asked for those magic visions to happen.

Thanks

Looking back, I'm amazed that Synchro arc got such good reception, remember feeling that most episodes was gonna lead to something new/big. Not that it ever happened

The Duel between Majoume and Asuka in the Society of light arc was probably one of the best duels I have seen.
That was mindfuckery pure.

>That laugh at the end
Gotta love Kaiba

He got busted for using fake cards.

And Joey got busted for getting hit by the real card.

Only Ra was fake and he didn't even want to use it nor needed to use it.

this image still haunts me

Attached: 1441822118467.jpg (1650x720, 152K)

Still got caught with a fake, though. Would have been DQ'd anyways.

Mokuba was shit when he was introduced but I couldn't help but like the little asshole once he started running the tournaments

He entered under a fake name too

Doesn't change the fact that he was the better duelist and should have won, regarding sheer skill.

Mai

Its doable imo. Assuming a 2 episode final battle and 1 episode to setup the season, that's 9 card games per season and you can actually spend time making them good and tense instead of just 3 episodes of Weevil waiting for his fucking cocoon to hatch

I'm pretty sure Marik just made all the rare hunters give him and Odion their locator cards. So, at least Joey deserved to be in the top 8 unlike those 2 and Bakura.

Odion won the locator cards for both of them

Why is Yusei such a chad?

Attached: 1293879870980.png (707x390, 273K)

Attached: Give me some milk.jpg (1440x900, 163K)

>darkest skin protagonist is the chaddest
(((they))) at it again.

It literally says it can't be special summoned in other ways.

>While this card is on the field, you can ignore the Summoning conditions required for Normal and Special Summons
I thought that line of Underworld Circle would bypass that

because hes obviously not an actual ygo protagonist

Attached: 21432110.jpg (750x1066, 296K)

With all the symbolism of Yusei's ace taking on AKi's sorrow the amount of femdom doujins with Aki is maddeningly low to nonexistent. That being said that scene of probably one of my favorite in all of YGO, the music direction in this children's card game is so good.
youtube.com/watch?v=5NwCJ9g3Z6Y

You only ignore the summoning conditions, which in this case is to tribute the 3 god cards. The next part isn't a summoning condition, it's part of the cards effect. It's on the card specifically so you can't get around the harsh summoning conditions.

5D took a different approach, mostly because of how they wanted synchro monsters to make lower level monsters relevant, that's why Yusei's deck if a "junk" or scarp themed deck because he's using what would be considered a "lower" tier deck, somewhat befitting of his origin. Besides Ruka has the token Kuriboh in 5D.

Does Card Excluder really count?

Kaiba is probably the most entertaining autist in all media

I agree. Often times the journey feels more important if you're making it with the characters themselves, instead of being an omnipotent watcher that knows everything.

That's your problem. The Anime doesn't work like the games. Do you seriously believe if Pokmon were real, a simple bug Pokemon could take out a legendary with a single attack?

my dick hard

No he didn't , he got RA'd so hard he was unable to play any longer just as Malik planned from the beginning.

Your boy got owned.
Cope.

>Yugi didn't get to smash this
>No Rebecca either since she doesn't exist in the manga canon
>Fills his deck with magician girls
He's gonna becomes a card fucker like Kaiba isn't he

>Marik's wincon isn't even an actual wincon
This is like if I showed up to play Tennis with a gun and started shooting my opponents while the ref DQ'd them instead of me.

Does Yugi even care for her anymore?
He was hopelessly crushing on her at the start of the series, but that seemed to get phased out entirely in the middle as he matured and never popped up again

God I want to fuck Ruka so much both loli and her hot ass college age self.

And it was the only time someone who used Ra actually won.
That card is probably the most overhyped garbage in all YGiOh.

Was meant for

>villain doesn't try to win by the rules
Stop the presses

I don't see a reason to believe otherwise. At the very least Atem thought he was still into her when Battle City started.

>You want to get to the better third and fourth
Fuck whoever made this image. Christopher Walken Don Zaloog and Tarzan are peak Yugioh.

I prefer the first two seasons. They're the fun kind of dumb. Edgy GX is just dumb.

Based.

Only reason he lost is because Kaiba absolutely loathed his guts and wouldn't live with himself if Joey got further than him.

>3rd best
>1st is a reincarnated magical pharaoh with reality hacks
>2nd is a turboautist billionaire who essentially controls the entire game and is also a reincarnated magician from the pharaohs time
I'd say thats pretty fucking good

>Unless BMG is our eternal waifu

Were those the episodes with them basically talking about which cards are their waifus?

if anything it would be the opposite
pasty-skinned ashkenazi freaks are intimidated by superior melanin warriors; that's why they sterilise the ethiopians in israel so they won't take over

No, I believe thats a rather early episode.
42-43 is the cosplay episode where Shou duels BMG.

imo, the highlight of said double ep is most definitely Manjoume as XYZ Dragon Cannon

>He actually thinks Pikachu is the problem
You're as retarded as the writers.

>Yugi almost never uses his
>aside from the duel with Bakura, every match involving God Cards involves him going "You know what, fuck these." and using his regular cards
>even Kaiba eventually begins to do this, and he has the best God Card

You can't get mad about him losing this duel because he passed out because that's literally the only reason he got to win the last round.

How good of a duelist was Joey? Because I remember him being pretty bad in the anime.

>Pokemon League
>only one of his Pokemon is fully evolved

Attached: 7b4.png (1753x1080, 985K)

To stare judgmentally at Ash's shit team.

>using counterfeit cards is identical to passing out from shadow magic

His team is basically the same this season but this time the animation and characters are actually hype as fuck.

Attached: 47973B35-FAED-4ABE-9EAE-2C1D87E9F3C3.png (1200x675, 700K)

Sure? I remember that the joke was that mokuba revealed that was his brother who designed her

I love not-yugi duels because they actually dead-draw in some of those

>Kaiba would have underestimated him and would have been humiliated.
Kaiba acknowledged him after his duel with Marik, no fucking way would he have underestimated him. Esepecialy in your scenario where he won.

A dozen ways to stop that.

zombie necro dragon is good

Attached: Ash vs Tyson.jpg (1280x720, 204K)

If Bakura was patient he could have instantly won with Just Desserts.

Attached: Clear Mind.webm (852x480, 2.93M)

Episode 36 was the one where they talked about card waifus

Attached: Misawa's Resolve.jpg (640x480, 83K)

If Marik just lost this way, what would really happen?
Would he be like "gee, I lost, guess I'll say I'm sorry and go home now pharoah"

IT DON'T MATTER IF IT'S BY AN INCH OR A MILE

>Joey gets to fuck the hottest chick in the entire series
We all know who the real winner is here.

Why is the thread still alive???
How is it possible?

YOU NEVER HAD ME! YOU NEVER EVEN HAD YOUR RED EYE B DRAGON.

HE'S A SIDEKICK, HE WILL NEVER WIN

This retard had shit decks despite having autistic rooms length equations for deck building. I mean the pleb thinks attribute based decks are a good idea.

Attached: Well Equiped Duelist.jpg (480x360, 21K)

His sister? I thought that goes to Toyotea
