There are multiple persona anime films and series.

These characters are really too similar to eachother. Despite their prestigious positions both are heavily steeped in the criminal underworld, both kill people remorselessly for their goals, both try to get at a higher figure, both have rivals who stand at opposite spectrums of eachother, both have a light and dark side. The only difference is how they die, Kakine died in projecting his beliefs onto his rival, these beliefs are unshaken even after his revival. Goro died having projected his beliefs onto Joker, with Joker managing to change his conscience in the end.
Its almost coincidental. Can't wait to see what Royal does with Goro though

Akechi's stupid plan enabled Shido to be the big human bad of the story in the first place. Shido outright says (during that weird exposition conversation that he has with Akechi) that his political career was on the verge of death over a minor scandal just before Akechi introduced himself and bailed Shido out.

When you're chuuni, its super easy to get carried away with grand revenge plans. He wanted to absolutely humiliate Shido

If anything I'll rate Trinity Soul above P5 anime just because the effort they actually put into making it. P5 anime was literally a step down from the terrible P4 anime in regards of the overall pacing.

P4A's main draw was giving a personality to Yu that seemed consistent with how a player could play him, and then naturally extending that.
P5A Ren is literally less of a character than his game counterpart, which is disappointing when Joker arguably has the most personality of any modern Atlus silent protagonist.
