So I just read the first 4 volumes of 20th century boys and desu i am not that hooked in. Should i keep reading it? Does it get "better"?

It actually get worse with more cases of "I don't have any memory of my life" and "character created to move the plot". But if you like 'mysteries' ending in nothing or, even better, with laughable resolutions, then keep reading.

20th century boys is an amazing manga and it definitely gets better as it progresses. But if you aren't hooked after four volumes I wouldn't recommend it.

20th Century Boys confirmed for me that Urasawa isn't a very good writer. I also don't understand why some consider it his best.

If you're not hooked in by now, don't bother, only gets more confusing and drags on and on.
If you get into it though, it's great. Actually just more of a relief to finally finish it.

Should probably read up until the Pope saga ends honestly

Anyone else think Urusawa and Taniguchi have very similar character designs? Those damn foreheads are probably why.
