It's not merged, just stuck there. Where Kabru used to be before the captain teleported him onto the floor there should be a chunk of mushroom where that part of the leg was. He should be able to easily take it off with a knife next time he shows up.

I thought the Captain was OP from the start but that was when it seemed that she needed to touch you to use her teleports so at least it had a weakness, as long as you could stay away from her you were safe. But this issue revealed and can teleport anything she can touch INTO you as long as she can see you, so unless she misses like she did in this sequences it's pretty much as case of is she can see you you are dead.
It's ridiculously strong, it's like she has a railgun.
