I'm trying to watch it right now and I just can't get it, everything else seems like 2deep4u random plot lines intermixed with 5 minutes of Ichise continuing his story.

Nothing about it is "random", it DOES keep you intentionally uninformed though but I don't get why those kind of shows bother people so much. I genuinely prefer just observing a plot and figuring stuff out on the go

You might be overthinking it, how far in are you? The show spends a lot of time building up the world and characters before the story really gets started around the half way point, the only person that's doing anything important early on is Yoshii.

I'm on episode 5, maybe it's just because I'm used to fucking babby tier anime with no expectation on the part of the viewer to interpret for themselves or have any intellectual capacity, but there's the guy going to the city who saved Ran, his name I forget, milita leader of Oregano or whatever they're called gettting shot in the leg, he's also the guy who cut off Ichise's arm and leg(?) I couldn't make out any characters aside from Ichise in that scene. It just seems like a fever dream of random scenes anchored very loosely by an overarching plot but I just can't make out the ties between any of the characters yet. I'll keep watching it and maybe some of it will become more clear to my brainlet ass.
