Hating the Yakuza arc is a meme, no one complained while it was being published.. Kirishima's flashback and fight, Amakiji fighting the 3 Villains, everything with Mirio and Overhaul, Nighteye dying, even Deku going 100% was loved because of his method of killing himself faster than Eri can heal him back into a fetus...

At the end of the day the only complaint was that Overhaul was wasted, but ve may return later in the story

The clones can take up to a broken arm of damage usually before melting, loosing a ear i would consider less damage than that. Especially with Shiggy right after the collapse noting how a human shouldnt have survived this drop it has to be the original that was on the ground that crumbled it.

I find it tragically ironic that if DJr had used Giran to network with Shiggy; he'd probably have come to some kind of agreement. Their backstories are relatively similar. All Mirio had to do - and it was a big job, no question, but not impossible - was keep damaging his arms and hands and body to force him to take time and focus to repair instead of attack, not allow Overhaul to grab any part of his body, and keep close enough to prevent him from touching the ground or a wall while dodging constantly. Mirio's great speed, strength, and reflexes were enough, but probably not by much.
