no

>isekai #157 will get a 5th season
it hurts

It doesn't really deserve one to be honest. It started off fairly strong but the more I watched it the more disappointed I became. There's no real character development and the motivation of the characters is never properly explained, at least in the anime. It just feels like the author figured out a neat concept but didn't think much beyond that.

you're mad cause chiho lost in the LN

He's not wrong though, other than one particular arc, there aren't much stuff to look forward to in the story.

Shocking. I could never have seen that coming. Who would've thought that the character that spends the most time with the MC and has the most chemistry with him would end up winning? If I didn't know any better I would say that the devil himself is behind such a devious plot twist. Sarcasm aside, I'm not complaining about the romance. What I don't like is that there's no development for Maou or his companion, and barely any world-building. I can stomach Emilia going soft for the MC, and I could understand the MC's side-kick sticking around through sheer loyalty. I can't say they're well developed but I can let it slide. I can't understand the MC though. Why did he decide to stick around? Why does he like our world? Is he not bothered by the annihilation of his kingdom? The anime does a piss-poor job at developing characters. Also, insofar as I'm any kind of fag, I'm an Emiliafag. She's pretty cute.

I mean, Ente Isla looks like this for christs sakes. But at least they put some effort in for the language

I didn't pay much attention to it so I can't be sure whether they were actually consistent but at least they bothered with doing something that isn't just nihongo.

A reverse isekai that is actually good and universally liked.
Shame that they somehow scrapped the idea of making a sequel.

That's a pretty common thing with light novels. They have a really strong first volume (or two volumes in cases where the first story is a two-parter), then just wander around blindly for a while until the author gets a good feel for the series as a serial. Another series from a few years ago that suffered the same problem was Kunosuba, where you could tell EXACTLY where the first volume ended because of how dull the humor after that point was (although I'm surprised more people don't complain about how unfunny those episodes were). Durarara's another good example.

>Is he not bothered by the annihilation of his kingdom?
Well, not really? Before he united the demons into a singular force and became king, they were all just a bunch of savages in scattered tribes anyways. As far as Maou seems to be concerned, not only did they lose the war fair-and-square, he's come to the conclusion that he doesn't have enough experience to be a proper ruler yet regardless.

Part of the reason he sticks around on Earth is because he genuinely enjoys living there, but also because it's an important learning experience. He has to know what it's like for people to live when they're not monsters who subsist just by feeding on negative emotions.

That's a fair idea, but it's not something that's actually in the anime. The framework is there for us to speculate but when it comes to actually writing this into the story the anime falls short.

That's largely because the anime only gets two volumes into the story, and even then it pads out some of the episodes with completely original filler.

What will season 2 be about? buying a TV?

> Hero feels uneasy in our world; her companions leave as soon as possible
> Demons feel at home in modern capitalist society
What a based show.

emi winning maoubowl

>What will season 2 be about?
Emi and Maou's incredibly fucked up family trees, for one thing.

>buying a TV?
That, and Suzuno becoming a fan of period dramas
