because animation is expensive and a lot easier when you already have a story

It's either gonna be an entertaining dumpsterfire, or a decent show that everyone forgets about, there is no middle ground

well it's gay. it's no fun watching an anime when you know everything that's going to happen.

The anime industry has no good writers and so they have to leech off of the ideas of mangaka or LN authors.

There is only ever a 1/10 chance of an original anime actually being good. Most start off promising, but usually take a nosedive as it runs it's course.

this is why I like Trigger. they pretty much only make original works.

Writing and story-boarding became two of the biggest reasons for Anime being derivative(artistically at least).

So many anime use a lot of standard camera angles and dialog structures for scenes.
Conversation scenes usually suffer heavily from this.
rarely is anything done visually to distinguish scenes where characters are just talking.
So it's a treat when shows like Kaguya-sama do something interesting in that department.

The entire point to anime is to promote manga. Manga>Anime originals anyways.

Because making a series is expensive. So picking something that's already doing well is less risky.

Flip Flappers for example, wonderful series Original plot, very creative. Not a good performance montarily so we'll never see or hear anything about it again.
