Every single new scene resets any development made. If it didn't take its romance seriously, I might have been ok with it. The twitter episode was a good example of when the maid pointed out if you don't do anything you'll never get close to him and she doesn't ddo anything. Watching the 2 MCs is a massive waste of time.
Chika Fujiwara adds a element of surprise or spice to the mix to make the characters change their train of though so things don't stay in the status quo.
