Are there any good alternatives to mangaupdates that don't feel like using a website from 1994?

Mangadex is good precisely because it has the WEB 1.0 website design. A database focused on compact, organized information shouldn't make you scroll all over the place to find the information you want. As it's presently designed, you know exactly where all the information you want is, and the navigation of the bibliographies and lists are intuitive and straightforward rather than requiring you to look for a dropdown for options or other aesthetic garbage. A website focused around gathering information should be designed around ease and speed of access to information rather than any social or userface function.

you mean mangaupdates? mangadex is the antithesis of your description

Yeah I meant MU, I should probably go to sleep.

>ease and speed of access to information

Clicking every link to see the picture sure is efficient!

good post

Mangaupdates has great design. Most websites now feel like they're made for phones and look like absolute shit on desktops.

Now go to the page that actually matters and tell me this is good design

I don't really see anything wrong with that, unless you want them to go the nhentai route and have all releases for a single day span several pages. If you just want the images, I guess an improvement could be using sadpanda hover thumbnails.

Should be an option to view in thumbnail grid mode at the very least

extremely good post

You never been in the 90s internet, don't you?

Fuck you, there's nothing wrong with Bakaupdates design you fucking zoomer.

I think what he's saying is that there should be an image preview mouse hover function like in sadpanda.

I'm still mad the scanlation group links were taken down.

They're fucking moralfags, and they've removed their own purpose when they removed the group links.

Ever since they removed links to scanlator websites because
>People just come here for the links
>Nobody stays for the community!
>We're getting rid of links because we don't want to be a redirect

I've tried to avoid Mangaupdates.

>manually maintained list of URLs
>need to do a pull request to the source code to add links
No.
