Pretty much everyone I know who prefers One Piece over HxH simply missed a lot of details in HxH. I'm sure there's some contrarians on Yea Forums who understood the themes and the power system of HxH and still prefer One Piece because slow episodes during the Chimera Ant arc somehow made some of the greatest anime scenes of all time worse than brainless empty pointless Luffy adventures (I will never understand how), but the majority of One Piece fanboys are simply really dumb.

There are plenty of fights of course and pretty bloody actually, specially at the start there are some shocking wounds though I would call more of the wounds "badly beaten up" more than bloody, not quite to call the series full of "bloody fights" but enough to enjoy nice fights

I think it dropped off after Water 7 but yeah you're basically right.
Manga art is still good but I think the entire story basically fell apart after time skip. It's no longer about comfy adventure, in the anime you don't even hear the old good songs and there are never intermissions between islands anymore. Appparently the crew rarely even sleeps these days, it sucks.
