It's a very human thing to want. Plus, maybe you'll more closely follow their other translations if you actually know who is doing the translating and are encouraged to seek them out. If it's a reasonable delay time, what's the problem? Can you not wait one day or a few hours?
Two weeks is a little ridiculous, I'll give you that, but there should be some give and take between translation groups and the overall community. When translators are expected to just slave away behind the scenes with zero recognition and still have to put up with WHERE IS THE NEXT CHAPTER spam, you'll inevitably get people who are only in it for the money.

I use tachiyomi mostly to read manga, but a lot of my followed manga are mangadex. I try to use alternatives when I can find them but tachiyomi can be spotty about a lot of sites other than mangadex. It would really suck ass if I have to switch 8 bazillion manga subscriptions over to some other site.
