Mangadex drama

Doki did nothing wrong, Daiz is a fucking kike and so are all the scanlation groups that pulled out of mangadex.
Fuck the kike babbies over at Jamini’s Box especially.
Is it really so hard to maintain a central hub for high quality scanlations that actually gives credit where its due all while hosting no ads and no cancer bullshit like all other manga sites? Scanlators that profit from pirating manga and supporting the author in no way deserve to be hanged, patreon was a fucking mistake.
Greedy fucking faggots.
Only reason I’m mad is because I don’t enjoy having to go through 20 websites to read some badly translated chinese cartoons

Has anything good been removed yet?

Mostly webtoons were pulled. I would say the series that got the biggest was A Reutner's Magic Should Be Special where ALL of the chapters got pulled

>Scanlators that profit from pirating manga and supporting the author in no way deserve to be hanged
Who the fuck cares about "supporting the author" in this goddamn board?

Hatigram scans had some pretty good manga scanlations IIRC

This website survived DDOS for so long without ads and now scanlators started acting like jews. Why are good things always gone?

for fucks sake this is the nth thread. stop already

>Implying they didn’t do it to themselves so they could lock shit behind accounts
Lmao

oof, just noticed that Jaimai Box completely pulled out too. That means a lot of stuff is missing now. Well not like it matters, simply don't visit their sites and in about 8 months their reader counts will fall enough that they'll come crawling back anyway. Jaimai did this before, and it didn't work well for them

REMINDER
>these groups make a living off scanlation. they do it for profit and pay their staff
>they also balance both normal illegal scanlation and take commissions from publishers to do legit scanlation
>groups like JB complain about the cost of scanlations (because they fucking pay their staff a wage) yet illegally scanlate officially licensed manga that is offered for FREE
>delay releases on MD for two weeks to drive traffic to their sites
>almost all of them have ads on their sites, some intrusive ones, including malware
>some groups paywall their releases behind patreon
>said groups yell FAKKU at the top of their lungs to start panic in order to trick smaller, honest scanlators to join their side
For profit scanlators are literal scum.

Feel like the admins are terrible at PR, this """"drama""""" wouldn't have happened if they dealt with these complaints in a formal manner.

I am just gonna move to Manga##

Mainly gookshit and chinkshit, nothing of value

Jewmini's stuff are the only notable ones

Stop sucking off mangadex faggot. Both sides are greedy fucks but scanlators put in more work and earn less. Any fucking prick can run a site like MD, anyone. Only thing it provides is centralization, community and quality of life improvements for newfags.
Id that all Immortal Hound translations or rips.
Survived is a funny word of prospering
This, technically speaking account locking had nothing to do with the DDOS.

Attached: 1475313308281.png (314x363, 138K)

People told them to avoid making a forum for mangadex. They didn't listen.

Imagine paying for this shit

Yes goy defend the people who are using other peoples work for money.

>but scanlators put in more work and earn less.
The for profit scanlation cartel pays their staff and makes a living off of it you retard. This has nothing to do with small time hobbyist scanlators. Way to fall for the rhetoric.

To be honest, even Fakku isn't really that successful.

Jacob just had a mid life crisis and somehow avoided getting a regular job that doesn't involve hentai.

So the scanlators?

>k*kes

Scanlators are hobbyists.

Scanlation was always a hobby, not a business.

I pooped

What would happen if for every missing chapter, a really terrible scanlation was made after to upload, and in the credits give a url for a direct download of the removed/missing scanlation?

What's happening? Give me a rundown please.

Quick rundown?

see

Only because monetization avenues weren't accessible back then. I bet a lot of those old scanlators would've hopped on the Patreon gravy train if they could've.

see

>Not a single patreon makes over a couple hundred dollars
Yeah they sure are raking in the money.

This desu. Profit scanlators deserve the rope.

The for profit scanlation cartel got upset that their profits were being cut thanks to the popularity of mangadex' platform, and got upset that mangadex was also making money they weren't getting. So they decided to instill panic in all the other smaller scanlators by screaming fakku and then pulling out of mangadex.
NIce try but by their own admission these scanlators pay their staff enough that they live off of it.

Jewish scanlators completely assblasted that they aren't making more money off their illegal activities.

Nobody gives a fuck about what the scanlators earn, its all donations anyways. If some fucking prick puts out delays for Patreon subs then that shit gets ripped the fuck out in a hour or two. Only people who suffer are retards who donate for jack shit.

If mangadex pulls a fucking Fakku then the consumer aka me is fucked and the whole distribution process is in jeopardy. Doujin scene didnt recover for years, fucking years.

>Scanlators are hobbyists.
Who gives a fuck. Scanlation by their very nature is a business, its inherintly commercialized and it has been for years. The difference is that instead of sites being sole moneymakers now the scanlators have easier means to leverage their position aka rake in the cash. That meant that usually 3rd party sites had the biggest followings and revenue instead of the publishing group which might not even run a site. Sure, donations have always existed but not at the current scale.

The fact that mangadex or anyone in this thread bitches about Scanlators making money just highlights how ignorant they are. People have always made money, now the status quo is turning in favor of the supplier than the distributor. There has always been money and you cant dictate what should be a charity and what should be not.

In essence, mangadex is losing the traditional status quo of distributor holding the cards and getting bitchy.

Attached: 1485948795481.png (600x332, 77K)

Majority of manga Yea Forums actually gives a shit about were already fully translated from 2000 to 2010 from those long dead manga scanlation groups.

Giving a link to a scanlator site has the problem on depending if that scanlator never decides to switch sites or renew the site or even offers a DDL.

Like for example, Woxxy is retired and his site is finally dead.

foolrulez.org/

So any memory of Woxxy scans only remains on manga streaming sites or possibly madokami

>korean shit
>manga
sasuga mangadex consumers

I see. Man, do I miss those days of "If you paid for this, you're being ripped off" notice in the credits page.

Paypal existed in 1998 to 2000.

I live on 50 dollars every month.

Ok, shlomo

How can mangadex pull a fakku when the only shit that gets licensed is shonenshit.

Mangadex going Legit would just look like Weekly Jump manga only and nothing else.

They did translate japanese stuff though?
Or am I wrong?

>Scanlation by their very nature is a business, its inherintly commercialized and it has been for years.

Stop lying, you gook/chink.

Only gooks and chinks like yourself are this greedy

this is why we need socialism
capitalism ruins everything

>its all donations anyways
You forgot:
>ad revenue
>patreon
>commissions from official publishers
>fucking bitcoin miners on their homepage
But sure, the idea that mangadex might pull a fakku is a nightmare, but its fine for for profit scanlators to swing their financial dick around. Try getting it in your head that this is simply a fight for control of the money/power between two groups, that's all. Your precious for profit scanlation cartel wants to be fakku just as badly as holo does, and in some ways, on a small scale, already is.

Attached: 1547534133315.jpg (1280x720, 161K)

>Is it really so hard to maintain a central hub for high quality scanlations that actually gives credit where its due all while hosting no ads and no cancer bullshit like all other manga sites?

Yes, because that becomes a target.

It was a mistake giving scanlators any power.

are you retarded

What's happening here? Sean v Mangadex?

The internet wasn't nearly as huge, nor was the anime fanbase as big in those years. Also, online payment wasn't nearly as prolific.

...

There was a site like that.

twitter.com/mangatoshokan?lang=en

Mangatoshokan

Predated Batoto. Died in 2011 because it seemed to have gotten targeted.

Very high quality scans.

That happened with The Breaker. God what a fucking awful meme that was.

Just block all IPs from china, indonesia, and russia.

I don't get it, why does Mangadex have to comply with scanlators? They have no legal clout.

I do you cheapskate motherfucker.
Buy digital or physical if you give a fuck about a series instead of giving shitty excuses.

Im not greedy, its just human nature. I dont endorse it, I just state the facts. If youre some poor fuck in Asia then every penny might count so people will leverage that. I wouldnt but then again Im come from a well off family with a decent life ahead of me.
The things you listed only hurt literal retards. Bitcoin miners? Use a ublock, Yea Forums has had miners. Patreon? Get into a private tracker or google. Ad revenue? Who gives a shit, its pennies if youre not Mangadex. Commissions? Again, nobody cares if you put the meat on the table. Its piracy, not a school of ethics.
Dont try to pull that garbage angle on me, thats what I said in my first post. However, currently the only people who might even be capable of pulling off Fakku are mangadex and endorsing that is fucking retarded. I find the very notion of centralized system for pirated materials utterly absurd but given how conformist but where we are. And you know, if the trend continues mangadex will eventually be in a strong position to pull a Fakku.

Im not shitting on MD because I hate them, I use the site regularly and theyre above the competition. However to not find them a bigger issue than some fags translating manga is just short sightedness. Piracy in its very core relies on distribution more than supply. So if Fakku even works as a proof of concept then bigger players jump and everything will be fucked. You will have to make due with seedy shit with broken up collections a la current doujin scene. And no, panda is garbage with it s blacklists and such

Actually the anime fanbase was larger, in having a much larger online presence. The most anime fansub groups in history. The most manga scanlators in history.

Animesuki used to be more than just a forum but a torrent tracker for example.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Also, people were asking moot if they could donate money to Yea Forums through online payments even when he was still a highschool teenager in Yea Forums's early days.

Yea Forums always has, what the fuck are you talking about?

The group that was doing CCS Clear Card and a bunch of other shoujoshit.

I don't get it either, all they have to do is fuck you lol and allow people to upload these fag's shit ripped from their sites instead of obeying their asinine delay requests.

size of*
Mangadex*

yeah but that one sucked ass though

CCS Clear Card was ever uploaded to Mangadex? As far as I know there was just one person/group scanlating it and it was locked behind a closed Facebook group. There are text translations still.

I don't. Profit incentive only hinders creativity.

i liked Wrong Way to use Healing Magic

Does your favorite mangaka or anime studio not work for profit?

Same

In 1998-2000? Nah, fuck off and fuck you.
You're talking about the mid 2000s anime fanbase.
>Actually the anime fanbase was larger, in having a much larger online presence
But not in sheer population. The current anime fanbase dwarfs the fanbase of the last decade simply because internet infrastructure has gotten much better over the years.

Jaimin's shit mostly. Good riddance honestly. They were sniping official translators and thus stealing money from the mangaka while claiming they needed donations because "It takes them $55 to get to the store to to get a copy of Jump" which is obviously bullshit..

Attached: 10 months of chapters gone.png (1919x867, 84K)

I'll give you that the buyf/a/gs always did. The rest though? Not at all.

What exactly is sniping?

This group was doing it:
mangadex.org/group/877/impatient-scans
It was also on niggastream for some reason. Don't know why they deleted all their shit when all they have is a Discord and a Facebook page and no Patreon or other website.

Translating literal comics for children is piss easy and scanlators don't deserve money for their "work"

Attached: 1556557001227.jpg (1280x720, 135K)

I'll tell you guys what group needs to be fucking killed: LHtranslations.

in their case i think it was something like releasing their translation before street date release so people use their website over official sources

I don't mind delays for scans in order to bring attention to the scan/translation group. That's completely fair, and forces you to actually acknowledge that someone else is producing these translations outside of the mass archive site.

>I don't mind delays for scans in order to bring attention to the scan/translation grou
what do they need attention for

>JEW JEW JEW JEW JEW

Attached: 1512326566354.png (440x537, 19K)

>webtoons
And nothing of value was lost

I'd be fine with that too if their sites didn't have intrusive ads and bitcoin miners.

For money obviously.
Either that or ego.
Usually both.

>Going through my follows
>Several things now cleaned out
I hate drama queens.

well obviously those things, but what else?

It's a very human thing to want. Plus, maybe you'll more closely follow their other translations if you actually know who is doing the translating and are encouraged to seek them out. If it's a reasonable delay time, what's the problem? Can you not wait one day or a few hours?
Two weeks is a little ridiculous, I'll give you that, but there should be some give and take between translation groups and the overall community. When translators are expected to just slave away behind the scenes with zero recognition and still have to put up with WHERE IS THE NEXT CHAPTER spam, you'll inevitably get people who are only in it for the money.

Yeah, that's bad but you should get ublock.

The max time on MD was one week for delays, MD made it two weeks specifically because JB requested it. These are specifically scanlators who are in it for the money we are talking about here.

Maybe I would visit a site if they have direct downloads linked without requiring an account, but facebook or discord aren't happening.

Only four series from my list got pulled and they were all by Jaimini. Good thing the stuff that I actually care about is all still there.

Use a fucking credits page with a list of series they're doing. I don't see any reason that isn't blatant money grubbing or e-peen faggotry to have more than that. Frankly though I couldn't care less who's translating as long as it's readable, just like how I don't give a fuck who is subbing my anime.

You know as well as I nobody reads the credits page.

even then you can just read most the shonen shit off shonen jump's app

Aryans don't do this shit, we're noble and care about the hobby more than shekels.

exactly, so why have a website then

okay...yeah... so some of the scanlators are money-grubbing cocksuckers (JB in particular) and that undoubtedly has something to do with this.

And there was that whole shitstorm after Facepalm sniped Yancha Gal no Anjo-san and included a credit page where they called Hatigarm out for begging for money. Then Hatigarm and Meraki both pitched a fit because the MD staff wouldn't let them turn the comments section into a dramafest. I think that has an awful lot to do with all of this.

But the thing I keep thinking - scanlators have always been drama llamas (remember PROzess? He was like a whole group's worth of drama all by himself), but I don't remember this sort of shit happening, or at least not as notably, on Batoto.

Is part of the difference just the fact that Grumpy was a pretty decent dude who just had a bit of a stick up his ass about hentai, while holo is a smug asshole?

You are only looking at this from the point of view of an entitled reader, not from the point of view of the donation hungry translator. Both sides need to compromise.

I always looked at the Rapeman ones because those were at least amusing every once in a while, like a newspaper comic.

So, was there a listing of who did what series? I love five series, and I don't know who did them because that bit of info literally did not matter at the time.

I hate jews so fucking much. They cling onto anything that smells of money and ruin it. Now that anime is getting more and more mainstream by the day things are going to be even more fucked.

Attached: 1552608450827.png (439x290, 141K)

Jumping in on another group's releases. It ain't normally a bad thing when it's a series that has no official English translation and will probably never get one. In JB's case they almost exclusively pick up series that are already getting official translations, thus stealing money from the mangaka. On top of that they use Mangadex's delay system to try to funnel traffic to their site so they can collect money from ad revenue and bitcoin mining while also begging for donations for their Patreon.
They're basically the scum of scan teams.

This is why I torrent everything

Batoto banned posters if you kept asking why a certain manga was banned.

Grumpy was shit faggot. He hired landwhale mods that allowed yaoishit but banned manga if it showed female nipples whenever he felt like it.

JB has also unabashedly sniped from other scanlators, don't forget that.

Yeah, this is a great way to do credits pages. Too bad it requires effort. The Rapeman ones for Murenase! Shiiton Gakuen were hilarious.

So what is the best site to use? I’m unironically forced to go to kissmanga sometimes just due to their larger selection. I’m getting sick of this Mangadex drama even though the site is decent

The best site to use is probably Crunchyroll.

>foolrulez is dead
Damn, I kinda wanted to re read SnO on their reader

madokami >:^)

Fucking hell I have been using Tachiyomi with MangaDex extension for a long time and it just werks. All my library is saved there. Where do I go now?

mangakalot

why are underage kids, reddit posters, and newfags allowed here. Yea Forums needs to have a monthly sub to post on. Not much. Like 5 bucks or less so it filters out all the shitlord.

I think Woxxy just decided to not renew or maybe forgot to renew.

If you tweet at woxxy, he might consider renewing the site.

twitter.com/woxxy/status/981344244177801216

I don't think woxxy intended his final blog post on foolz to go down one year later.

Hi Kabru

Holy shit I almost forgot about that turbofaggot Prozess, he always talked shit in the batoto comment section but at the same time he translated some of the best and raunchiest shit out there so meh.

Kissmanga are shit. For some manga that show tits, they put a literal Stop Sign on some of those pages.

Attached: scanlating donations.png (600x800, 57K)

Crunchyroll manga selection is pitiful.

They likely abandoned it because Crunchyroll's new owner is not interested in manga at all, just streaming.

Are you sure that isn't it just being originally censored? I know there was some manga that was like this in the past that people were saying scanlators were censoring despite it being censored in the magazine.

Why the fuck would anyone pay to be on here? Have you seen the quality of conversation, you should be paid for dealing with this shit.

>For some manga that show tits, they put a literal Stop Sign on some of those pages.
I’ve never seen that, I’ve read a ton of ecchi stuff on their with tits in it

I use tachiyomi mostly to read manga, but a lot of my followed manga are mangadex. I try to use alternatives when I can find them but tachiyomi can be spotty about a lot of sites other than mangadex. It would really suck ass if I have to switch 8 bazillion manga subscriptions over to some other site.

Attached: CONCERN.jpg (1280x720, 64K)

This site seems good, I’ll try it out. Thanks

Get fucked Crunchyroll/Fakku 2.0. Hilarious how you mention how d*iz is a kike while being kikes yourself.

It's legal though. Anything else will get you sued or arrested.

Looks like they took down TLR Darkness from Kissmanga but this is the censorship Kissmanga used to show on TLR Darkness, specifically Chapter 74, Page 20.

They block pages with breasts with this stop sign.

Attached: NBrPqfu.png (1227x673, 321K)

>On top of that they use Mangadex's delay system to try to funnel traffic to their site
I wouldn't hold that against them. Mangadex put that system in place specifically so scan sites would do that. As for adds, noscript, ABP, and uBlock exist for a reason. The sniping official releases sounds like scumbag behavior though. I'll never understood why people trying to make money off of other peoples work have the audacity to get pissed that someone else is doing it better than them.

>mfw the goyim don’t know

Attached: 5BB2D55F-3BEE-424D-8569-CBF73F1CECF8.png (499x583, 340K)

>its all donations anyways
And that somehow makes it ok to profit off pirated content?
You fucking faggots have no shame. You're dirty fucking pirates.

To be honest, the people arrested over the years have been the raw providers and mostly in Japan.

Something called treating people with respect.
Because if scanlators don't get their respect, they'll happily burn down everything just to spite you. This started with Facepalm telling people that scanlation doesn't cost nearly anywhere near what these cunts claim it does and that paying for scanlations should never happen.

That must only be that manga, because if you go on Kissmanga and look up Darling in the Franxx, Zero Two’s tits are displayed multiple times in all their glory

Daiz and the cabal continue to kill scanlations and translations. Their war with Doki has gone on for years, and it's finally come to a head.
The cabal cannot stand that Doki beat them to the punch with MangaDex like they did to Doki with Nyaa.si versus Anidex.
They want Doki dead once and for all and for them to have complete control over the fan translation industry so they could kill it off according to Daiz's manifesto.
Do not let them win.

based

>Is it really so hard to maintain a central hub for high quality scanlations that actually gives credit where its due all while hosting no ads and no cancer bullshit like all other manga sites?
Hard? Not really. Expensive is what it is. Bandwidth isn't free, and when what you're primarily hosting is a shitload of high resolution images, it adds up.

Well, I can't tell if they still do that for TLR Darkness since they took down TLR Darkness from Kissmanga. Maybe they changed their policy? Or there could be older ecchi manga on Kissmanga that still has censorship.

Imagine having to go through this shit and having to clean up shitposts for free

I'm switching to Anidex. Who's with me?

I remember seeing it for others before too. Maybe it's just not consistently done.

kissmanga host their content illegally on free services (e.g google blogger), those sites sometime filter out erotic content (using AI so it is a hit or miss).

The problem with MD is that they don't know how to run a site. Even if Holo was 100% in the right (which, for the record, I don't believe), he should take out his frustrations in private and not act like a immature bitchboy in public, because now everyone else on the site thinks it's acceptable to act like that. Most of the commenters on the site announcements already suck the mods' dicks and will parrot anything they say, which would be fine if they were just on their small scanlation group website but does not bode well for the largest manga website on the internet. Too bad they're too busy tripping on their powerboners to recognize the issues of scale here and deal with them appropriately. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if MD crashes and burns in a year or two because of Holo and crew's huge egos. Even moot was way better at managing a community than they are.

Of course. But what's the alternative? Every other option is shitty in its own way.

So, supposing that this doens't take a turn for the worse of the long nosed kind, this looks like it'll be a hiccup that will be solved by the free market and people translating the series that have been pulled.
Is my assumption sound?

Some readers have the All in One Page option.

Kill yourself.

Have you not been paying attention to the scanlation scene for the last few decades? They've always been acting like immature dickheads.

sells merch on their website, which could be seen as profiteering like the groups who just pulled out. Personally I see it as stupid, but not directly moneybeg like the others, selling on their 'brand'. but that 'brand' comes from illegal scanlations, including some licensed ones like juliet, so think what you will.

Wow
I may have autism but even i don't want to be seen with a shirt saying #dropout

Not really. Once scanlation groups try to go for-profit they all crash and burn in the end and then nobody wants to pick up the series for fear of drama.

Scanlation is a hobby because it only works as a hobby.

madokami? which is closed now, and apparently won't be opening soon.

What about >dropout?

No. The series involved are still being translated. """Sniping""" them will only lead to more drama that people will want to avoid because it's not worth the headache.

How is this a good thing mangadex would just become the next CR FKKU

Yes, but mangadex made things convenient for me. Now the scanlators are fucking that up that for reasons I honestly don't give a shit.

Not that guy, but what Holo wants to do is even less feasible. You can't just >go legit when the majority of your platform is illegal to profit from in the first place before we even dive into the issues of dealing with hundreds of different scanlation groups.

Eh. Seems intentionally silly like they don't really expect people to buy it. Ironic jewery is still jewery, I suppose, but it's not that bad.
