Go away kudasai.
I cordially dislike it, and I think the anons who hail it as a masterpiece, let alone AOTD, are full of shit.
Decent plot, good character designs, great art direction, god-tier soundtrack.
There are very few flaws besides nitpicky ones. It's definitely a show that's way above average. I have a soft spot for it since it's the anime that warmed me up to Yuri.
Good art, ok ost, shit characters and writing
overall 4/10
>ok ost
Shit taste confirmed. Opinion invalidated.
Welcome, you're here forever.
Watch Rebellion.
Opening is great, but the rest is eh
Emotional, very dark and well written conceptually. Art direction was stellar and the music was amazing. I didn't really connect with many of the characters but the show is not a character piece so that's fine.
Rebellion is shit.
Not enough Yuri
0/10
What is Rebellion
I can't think of a single piece that isn't memorable. All of them have exactly the right amount of emotion as well as a feeling or message that is conveyed clearly and near-perfectly.
all of them have melodies that actually progress
Watched it for the first time a couple weeks ago and I must admit its one of the best I've watched. Easily top 5 for me.
Rebellion was good but the story wasn't as compelling and had some big flaws for me. Visuals were amazing though.
Great series all in all, deserves the praise it gets.
Art and Music is great. Happy it has only 12 episodes and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Every girl gets enough screentime and the end (rebellion) leaves me satisfied. Not many anime have good endings.
Don't worry user, I've got you covered
the 3rd movie. It's a continuation right where the anime ends. Watch it!!! And without reading up anything online. Also don't wiki anything during the first 20-30 minutes because you feel stupid. It WILL make sense.
Hmmm I'm not so sure about that. Honestly, I loved the show and I don't want to continue after the ending it in fear of it being ruined.
But if it reallt that good maybe I will give it a try
Won't spoil anything, it doesn't really interfere with the end of the anime.
this
It's a good show, but Homura's the only gay one and her romantic feelings are one-sided.
It's the best anime of all time and Homura is best girl
It's divisive, but even if you dislike it you'd be better off experiencing it yourself than eventually having it spoiled here.
Watch it now. Even if you end up not liking it, it's still a wild ride. And if you actually do end up disliking it, just forget it exists because we're never getting another sequel because Urobuchi fucking hates us
The experience of watching it from ep1, the earthquake and the 6 week wait between ep10 and 11-12 and all the rewatches during that time with fellow anons, watching Rebellion in cinema, I could never forget. I still have a Morning Rescue in the fridge I had brought over from Japan before the earthquake.
It didn't have any grand ambition like certain other anime that aired at the same time. It knew what it wanted to do and it did it masterfully, everyone and everything had its place and didn't overstay it's welcome, and it all came to a perfect resolution tying it all together. There's a reason why it's AOTD and among the best of all time.
It's my favorite anime of all time and Madoka is best girl.
The anime was bad
The game is bad
I live for Sana
It was good. Mani deserved better.
can we discuss the philosophical subtext
It will be surpassed by the MagiReco Anime.
It’s the greatest story ever told and only pissed Eva fans will tell you otherwise because it surpassed their favorite anime.
Ohh. So that’s where all the hate comes from.
the best thing about it is how SayaHomu is literally canon
I dont wanna sound like a fucking snob ass but... Is episode 10 the best episode of any anime? From start to finish its a fucking trip. Starts off with slight confusion who back to episode 1 classroom. Explains Homuras attitude, skill and actions. Even justifies them. Shows you Mami again after 7 episodes of being dead and Fucking magical girl Madoka. Then flips your demand to want to see Madoka make her wish that kept getting cock blocked.
man what a good episode what the fuck
I'm interested
anime of the decade
If there was an episode to be delayed a month and a half on, it was ep10
>is episode ten the best episode in anime
You’re not the only one to think that. Not even close. It’s pretty commonplace so don’t feel like a crazy person.
The ending theme switch and all was great too. I think it’s probably at least the best directed episode of anime.
Don't make a Madoka thread on Yea Forums.
Please, I'm totally serious.
I love you, pmmm!
I’m attracted to Kyoko Sakura. Her last name is Sakura btw. No need to fact check me on that.
Great taste.
Something about a barefoot Mami just fried half of the synapses in my brain
Did you understand the garden scene? Did you understand the garden scene? Did you understand it?
why it's kind of the only anime most Yea Forumsnons agree to be a masterpiece
I won't lie, I didn't understand the cake song
Not even, and those threads are cursed.
Name one anime more anons agree to be a masterpiece?
My favorite anime of all time.
Rebellion is even better if you actually understand the series.
I'll admit I once thought this series was only pretty good and Rebellion was bad. But my first watch was about 30 anime in and after another 5 or 600 anime I realized how perfect they were.
Most of the anons here were probably shitting in diapers when Madoka first aired. Let that sink in.
you are retarded if you actually think that there are any anons younger than 10
>shitting in diapers
You really don't think there are 12 year olds fucking around on here during burger summer break?
It's a pretty good show,i liked the music and style during the fights a lot.
Some of the characters are good (Sayaka and Homura) while others just fill their purpose (Mami and Madoka). The plot is good, nothing really that great but just good enough to make erything work.
The only thing i really didn't like was that Homura was a waifufag.
Yea Forums in general sure but Yea Forums no fucking way. Do you even visit other boards. /pol/ and Yea Forums are the usual target of summerfags, not Yea Forums. You can recognize them pretty easily and I normally don't see such faggots here.
>Do you even visit other boards
Do you willingly expose yourself to radiation? Cancer had taken over Yea Forums a long time ago. Usually is Yea Forumsfags making themselves home here because they watched a game adaptation and read one piece or some other shounen garbage and bring their memes with them, and it shows. Then when Yea Forums raids them they flood here thinking it's a safe space for their faggotry. Most of the anons that fought against cancer either gave up fucked off years ago or are on /jp/ and select niche boards.
What does Homura smell like?
Order of girls I would impregnate:
Madoka > Homura > Mami > Kyouko > Sayaka
It is my opinion that Homura did nothing wrong and that she is best and cutest girl.
...
Depends where you sniff her
I'm not trolling, shitposting or being ironic but I genuinely didn't enjoy this series on pretty much any level.
The character interactions and dialogue seemed robotic and I could never feel for them, everything was told in excessive infodumps as opposed to proper visual storytelling, stopped me from becoming invested and left me cold.
I think the show fails to match its cute aesthetics with its darker elements and the cinematography/visual style feels empty to me.
I'm also sick of resets and timetravel being used as a gimmick in everything now aswell.
I watched this series more than once to see if I'd warm up to it on a second look but I didn't.
Sorry but I hate shows like this, bokurano, shadow star and higruashi.
You hated Higurashi because you watched a shitty DEEN adaptation. Play the VN and I can almost promise that you'll love it.
only good anime of the decade
When does Higurashi VN start to get good? I heard lots of good things including the spoilers but i literally dropped it 15min in.
As soon as you get past the poem. The moe parts are only moe in retrospect. Here's a tip to try to keep engaged, look for the allusions to future events in the early portions of the VN. A lot of the game is really ironic once you finish the whole thing.
t. Pissed Eva fanboy who hasn’t even watched Madoka
Go watch the Rebellion movie, it has the best action scenes you can imagine
eva fans don't hate meduka
if anything most meguca fans are prior eva fans
The ones who actually watched it.
>watching anime
true patricians listen to anime the first time around blind and imagine everything, and then watch it
I used to work nights and I’d wear headphones and listen to English dubbed anime I haven’t seen yet.
it'd have to be a comedy one with good VA if you did that
was it maou sama?
I listened to
Clannad
Heavens lost property
Ouran highschool
Haruhi
My Bride is a mermaid
Soul Eater
And a lot more.
you missed on some nice tits in heavenslost property, rewatch that
I watched it after. That’s the show where that guy killed himself because he wanted her as a waifu.
Look at this btw.
m.youtube.com
I put it in my watch later
I never truly realized just how short their skirts were till now
How bad is the plot of magireco?
It’s actually pretty good.
What do you do if you actually love Madoka?
Watched this show recently as well, I think the Madoka fags blow it out of proportions a bit, but I begrudgingly admit it is a good show.
The OST is good, the art is consistent and the fights are good too, but it is painfully edgy and angsty. Not really my cup of tea, but again It's ok. Won't watch it again or anything and definitely not AOTD or whatever
>painfully edgy and angsty.
What is?
Take away her powers and memories, and lock her inside a false world.
I've watched Madoka three times just to try and see if it would grow on me, I'm sorry I just can't get into this show.
I didn't like Re:Zero or Evangelion either .
If anything call me a butthurt Ikuhara or Lain/Texhnolyze fan.
Actually you might be better to call me one of those people who grew up with more nice going Mahou shoujo that was rubbed the wrong way with Madoka.
I tough Princess tutu achieved more than Madoka did.
It was dark, so was Nanoha at times, but there was still some warmth/humour.
I dropped it pretty early on. All style, not much substance.
And before that gets called out as a contradiction.
I expect different things from different genres I guess.
I feel bad that don't like this show.
There's no such thing as Lain fans, there's nothing to be a fan of
Now that shaft is dead which studio is able to do the sequel justice? Kyoani? Digakobo?
Feel, but half of it's a yuri ecchi
You haven’t even watched it.
Thoughts?
youtu.be
What the fuck does re:zero have to do with this? That shit is garbage that should have been forgotten after its season ended.
>dat ending playing the opening with the lyrics making sense for the first time
Pure kino
The unique ones are all great, Madokami's in particular is pure kino
Sneaking in images of the holy quintet as adults is a nice little easter egg
Are you going to play the english release of Magia Record?
It sucks that I won't be able to reroll for this cutie at the start
You are correct, anonymous.
You can pick her with your free meguca ticket.
the shit quality of subsequent mahou shoujo anime doesn't make madoka shit
Some react more strongly than others against a ride of suffering with no brakes user.
Will the EN release start with all the nice stuff the jap version has? (guaranteed 4* if you go 100 pulls without one, free meguca ticket)
Because the 1% rates suck
If anything, Nanoha is more responsible for showing anime studios that adult-oriented magical girl shows could be very successful. Madoka was the exclamation point.
And Yuyuyu is hardly tragedy porn.
Have you worshiped The Goddess today??!!
Yes, I have
That is the devil.
She is my goddess, your image is her pet
You are worshiping a devil!
Cattle, humans, magical girls and space aliens should be equal.
My goddess isn't the one who was split in twain
Your goddess isn't the one who gave everyone a happy ending in life instead of in death
I think these two are really cute together.
Both of those are false and you know it!
Remember when Madoka's mom told Madoka that she'd love to drink with her when she's old enough? Madoka couldn't fulfill that wish, but Homura can
But in Homura's world, that mother is a fake.
Homura's world and Homura's love are both very real
YuuYuuYuu being notMadoka is basically a meme by now.
Holy digits checked.
the witch animations were cool. rest of the show was mostly just moe stuff. I think anons who talk about it a ton like to just ignore that most of the show is still just in the cute girls doing cute things genre. If that's ur jam that's cool, but not for me.
Beautiful ost
Holy quintlet is my favourite
Oh good finally a Madoka thread. Now to talk Gacha.
Classic madokafag. Never change.
Homura isn't a devil, she's a good girl and a hero.
Anyone who understood Rebellion knows this, but even now nearly 6 years later there are plenty of people who still don't get it.
>only finishing Madoka now
Are you still here OP? Are you new to anime?
As a fan of mahou shoujo shows I agree. It traded charm for angst, satisfying plot progression for twists, resonating character moments for edgy shit.
It's not even that good of a deconstruction/subversion.
People who hail it as a masterpiece have probably never watched a magical girl show.
And fuck yuriniggers as well.
Turns out people actually want tightly written stories that don't waste their time on filler for simple characterization or muh charm just to have a more natural progression.
Nothing wrong with other mahou shoujos but the appeal of them as an anime is completely different.
It is easily AOTD.
This post could not be more wrong.
basically this
Madoka Magica is a tightly paced show with loveable characters who have are fleshed out enough to know what they're all about and why, as well as how they change throughout the show. The plot is dramatic and a rollercoaster of emotions, and twists are properly foreshadowed, which makes for really fun rewatches. Speaking of rewatches, you will notice things you haven't noticed on the first or even second watch, such as the symbolism and nuances in the girls' characterization.
Based. Never even seen Madoka. Don't even know what it's about. But it shit.
Who rolling SayuSayu?
>most of the show is still just in the cute girls doing cute things genre
0/10, if you want to shitpost you need to actually watch the show first
What if Sayaka was a girl?
I actually finished it too yesterday and I this became really clear:
* people like it because the characters, especially Homura, are moe
* people like it because it throws you off. seeming all cute and nice and then gives you this super dark story with most of the main cast dying
* the writing is very onpoint, it doesn't waste anytime and makes you understand what is going on in an organic way, there is no filler whatsoever so it's a high-adrenaline ride
* there are weird psychedelic visuals and experimental animation
However, the work completely lacks creative and artistic vision. The thematic and creative focus of the show (how taking on burdens for others in order to create hope creates despair and happy ends cannot be achieved) do not mash well at all with the visuals. The witches look cool, but it's style over substance. The visuals themselves were used in Shaft's previous shows where they have much more symbolic and thematic meaning than here, so you cannot help but be like "cool but eh", unless you are new to anime and are impressed just by the experimental nature of it. The moeness of the characters are cliche and they are essentially both paper-thin and pretty much nonsensical outside of Sayaka and taken from Nanoha A's. The animation is mostly sub-par except for certain scenes which were obviously done by external studios who know what they are doing, but just normal movement of the characters, of hair etc. just doesn't look good at all. It seems like they took amateurs for those and it's really jarring when you know the budget and hype this show had coming off Bakemonogatari.
Overall a good show which is very entertaining to watch, its success allows other anime to get experimental with its visuals and be "subersive" to their genres which is nice I guess. Plot-wise, visuals-wise, direction-wise - in all of those aspects there are shows that blow this one out of the water, many by Shinbou himself.
How come anime are the best Christian themed creations nowadays?
Overall, Madoka is a show that should be loved by the average light-anime fan. Who watch shows seasonally, who like cute slice of life shows and who was blown away by the super-tight, high-twists writing, who is not too familiar or interested in weird anime and is surprised that a "weird experimental show" actually made sense, who is really into cute moe girls like Homu and it did a great job being popular. It's like the Death Note for weebs, a perfectly crafted popular show for the average weeb to enjoy. People who think it's a masterpiece or does special things, when it doesn't even have a good artistic message and is pretty much a meticulously crafted corporate product to make money should be ashamed of themselves, though.
t. Pissed Eva fan who didn’t understand the series beyond surface level
He probably didn’t even watch it in the first place.
t. retard so addicted to shitty shows whose mind is blown by one that isn't shitty
I can't think any anime with heaviest symbolism than Madoka
Instead of writing long-winded wannabe copypastas just admit you are a Neofag and butthurt cause a show actually delivered scenes with meaning, not aesthetic jerk offs
>plot wise
>direction wise
Madoka is literally the greatest story ever told in anime. It’s basically magical girl Faust. You have no clue what you’re even on about guy. Try watching the series instead of copy pasting YouTube reviews by thirteen year olds.
While NGE uses crosses and shit just because they look cool with 0 substance
NGE fags are worse than cancer, they are the same shitheads that cry about Lain. They just can't understand anything that isn't mediocre
>fuck Rebellion though
Only thing that would have made it better was a confession or a kiss.
Bakemonogatari had better and more exciting symbolism. It's funny you say I'm a Neofag when most praise directed at this show says something like "it does to magical girls what Eva did to mecha" which is probably unintentionally accurate
> It’s basically magical girl Faust.
Kek, are you seriousy? Madoka essentially is a story about how taking on the burden others have to take. Faust is about a whole bunch of things, it's hard to pinpoint any specific theme it even has, other than the obvious one of a pact with the devil to get power. And yeah, the direction is good but obnoxious at times and much better in other Shinbou works, where the obnoxious aspects of his style flow more freely with the content.
I think you're based.
cute girlfriends
Madoka is unironically my favorite anime
>Bakemonogatari had better and more exciting symbolism
>Madoka essentially is a story about how taking on the burden others have to take
Yea Forums is definitely the right board for you
All praise our lord and savior Potato Jesus!
>Sayaka makes a pact with the devil to save people/Kamijo and gets destroyes as a result, because she has to grapple with the fact that she cannot be as amazingly heroic as she wanted to be, and her own feelings of grudge, disappointment and sadness at what is occurring cannot be dealt with
>Kyouko's life is destroyed because she couldn't bear watching her father get into a cycle of misery, takes on his burden and fights for him - this results in her family and father being destroyed, and she thinks that she shouldn't rely on anybody and nobody on her as a result
>Madoka takes on the burden of Homura and saves Homura, which Homura cannot accept and thus the entire situation becomes reversed: Homura takes on Madoka's burden, and tries to save her instead. we can see how homura's entrance in episode 1 is mirrored in their first meeting, with homura being in front of madoka in episode 1 and "guiding her" with madoka following her, and homura following madoka in the flashback
>Madoka literally becomes Jesus in the end, the God who took on the burden of sin
Obviously there are other themes (hope turning into despair is one, a pact with the devil is destroying your soul, the parallel with the body becoming a tool of the soul gem with your soul becoming instrumentalized by the wish you made and the power you got, etc) but like half of the show is this, including the epic finale, where Madoka takes on the burden of every single Magical girl. What are you acting so smug for, mate?
Madoka isn’t “basically” anything. It’s the greatest anime on earth.
I’m a Madoka fan.
>where Madoka takes on the burden of every single Magical girl.
It’s beautiful.
m.youtube.com
I think that the ending, which is obviously Messianic, melted your brain (:
There are 5 major character dynamics
Sayaka-Madoka
Homura-Madoka
Mami-Madoka
Sayaka-Kyoko
Homura-Kyubei
None of them are primarily about carrying or taking or giving burden in my opinion
The beautiful thing about Madoka is that you can view the show through a religious (mainly christian) prism, a philosophical (utilitarianism vs humanism), just on an emotional or even through an elemental one(which i find the most interesting of all) and ofc a combination of all of the above and maybe others that i couldn't notice
I'm not saying that your view that Madoka is about carrying the burden of others is wrong, but that your belief that your interpretation is all there is,
>if you actually understand the series.
And what if you do understand the series and still don't like Rebellion that much?
Then you don’t understand it.
I am pretty sure most anons have been on Yea Forums but than realised that they accidentally landed on a disabled parking-spot. Yea Forums is dead for years like so many boards but Yea Forums is still standing strong. The reason for that is in my opinion that the seasonal Animeonlyfags who are trying to infest this board with their degeneracy are just getting flooded with spoilers.
Okay then explain it to me how I don't understand it.
I want to understand too, please.
Watch it.
I've watched it. A few times too. Why do you claim I "don't understand it"?
You haven’t watched it.
Poor Sayaka
So you're just full of shit lol
She really enjoyed beating the shit out of that witch.
Magical Girl of the Day: Sayuki Fumino
-An Magical Girl who happens to be a Idol.
-The Favourite Idol of one Rena Minami who has been following her since the beginning
-When she was young she went to a Idol concert and almost got crushed by the crowds. This led to a fear of crowds
-She loves Japanese Katanas folded over a thousand times and history unlike her cohorts who prefer Idols and TV.

-Wanted someone to share here interest with, Kyubey sees a opening and tries to get to contract
-A bit dumb so she literally asks Kyubey for suggestions on wishes.
-She was scouted out by her current manager who wanted a Local Idol to promote the Mizuna Ward, a old part of the city with a long history including Katana-folding, like:

-Her wish to have someone to talk to leads her to become a Idol, but in turn leads to her befriending Mayu who works at the Museum she goes to see swords.
-What happened was her claustrophobia acted up during a stadium concert so she broke down and was given a break. There she went to the Exhibit again, her eyes met Mayu and they became friends.

-Sayuki is dense, clumsy and slow at learning but she does her best and never gives up inspiring other's like Rena. She works hard to overcome her weaknesses.

youtube.com
There's still a lot I don't understand about this show.
I guess she started going a bit crazy because she was dilled with regret after finding out how the soul gems work
I love SayuSayu so very, very MUCH!
Is Madoka Idolshit good shit?
Help, where can I watch rebellion
Try watching the anime. You’ll like it.
First time watching I had been spoiled a bit but it didn't change the impact it had on me. Rewatching is solidified it as a modern classic for me. Wish I was there from the start. I do wish for a grand finale to the movies though.
You have seen the light now. Cherish your feelings for her. She's helped me improve myself and I'm forever grateful.
Jesus christ you really are the worst fanbase on this god forsaken board.
At least hunterchads are as creative as they are annoying.
Just because I'm not a big fan of Rebellion, does not mean I haven''t watched it.
the only thing good about this show was the red haired girl. i don't know why people hail this show as the greatest of all time.
Anime of the decade, terrible movies
Yeah... hell no am I clicking that link
based
If you even associate with shounen shit, you're already too mentally stunted to be saved
Yeah, fuck Daiz and the cabal. Post the Anidex link.
Are you fucking retarded? Lurk moar
It's a dubbed torrent anyway, I'd rather not watch Rebellion at all if I had to watch it dubbed
I envy all you lucky anons who saw it when it was easily available around the release
Why do you say it's dub? Like a good torrent it likely has dual audio track, but you wouldn't know that if you refused to click a nyaa si link, which everyone on Yea Forums uses
I want to watch Kyouko eat 300 hamburgers in one sitting.
>people like it because it throws you off. seeming all cute and nice and then gives you this super dark story with most of the main cast dying
I'll never, ever understand people who didn't realize it was going to go grimdark from the first episode just by the way the slice of scenes were directed.
Mami should have been the headliner.
Madoka was very good until the Rebellion, then lost of shit was retconned and fucked up
Don't watch it if you love the series. You will hate it after.
Rebellion is a masterpiece and if you didn't like it you very likely didn't understand it.
I don't watch shounen though, and I think hunterfags are annoying as hell. But goddamn they are so much better than you as faggy and spergy as they are.
>it doesn't really interfere with the end of the anime.
Nigger it completely ruins it
>they are so much better than you
Kek, nice imagination you got there
ANIME OF THE DECADE
I preferred Princess TuTu at first as well, but I also enjoyed Madoka.
I am going to rewatch both soon.
[X] Marry Mami and her weird dog.
What does Yea Forums think of the manga spin-offs?
holy based
Is mami into bestiality?
Nice meme
this pairing does things to me and i don't know why
now wait for the absolute shitfest that will be magia record, begining with rebelion is now not canon
Was there any point of Bebe other than to make the viewer think "Oh shit, that's the witch that killed Mami." and make them feel uneasy?
You didn’t watch Rebellion?
to give us a qt loli to pair mami with for the glorious oppai/noppai couple
She was the red herring that Homura followed when she was trying to figure out what witch was responsible for trapping them. It would be pretty boring if there were no leads for her to follow and the audience automatically assumed it was Kyubey again just because he was the only creepy supernatural creature around. I'm not really sure why I'm explaining the first half of the entire movie to someone who presumably watched it themself.
to give us the cutest creation in existence
Why is there only like 1 yuri doujin of these two (and a non-h one a that)
This is a girl.
>because Urobuchi fucking hates us
I think you mean because a sequel would suck and literally ruin whatever value the ending had
"I love Mami so much she became my waifu" what yould you say about this person?
It used resets, it used time travel aswell and it used it as a tack on easy gimmick.
To be clear I'm not against time travel in fiction, I just want something like Primer.
very lucky! not as lucky as me and my waifu sayaka though!
We will see. It would suck if you start without MagiReco Camera.
Do not lewd the Nagisa/Charlotte/Bebe
Holy fuck boys! That Kyoko Sakura is one HOT piece of ass!
That’s true.
Now do god edition
That and she realized she had a naive ulterior motive behind her wish and the didn't even help her accomplish it. So she both wasted her wish and became a monster for it in her eyes.
Sayaka pls
Not canon
You figured it out better than most. She's sort of the idealist going mad.
Either that or she has a massive domination fetish.
As always, Homura is worst girl and a retard.
god i hope she does
No, I didn't you dumb idiot retard boy
She doesn't consider her wish a waste, otherwise she would just act like Kyouko. It's more like she just tried to be the hero of justice taking on the world while dealing with Kyouko trying to kill/convert her, Homura stalking/messing with the timeline, Madoka criticizing her, rejecting normal relationships, becoming a monster, etc. She was pretty much backed into a corner.
It's not quite that innocent for Sayaka. On some level she really did realize that she had been being selfish and had expected for Kyousuke to love her and was disappointed when he didn't. This caused her a lot of anguish and self-doubt, because she realized that she wasn't the perfect selfless hero of justice she wanted to be.
Don't forget, her idol Mami warned her not to wish to heal Kyousuke because of this very reason.
Based mami
Madoka: ∞ - 1
Homura: bananas
Did you guys know that I like Sayaka as more than just a friend?
This anime is so good. To this day it’s still my favorite and I’m not very new. I started watching anime when Inuyasha first aired.
I don’t like that this series is always misrepresented with moe images and shipping when that’s probably like 2% of the overall series. I don’t understand why those things would be focused on so hard and all the legit good stuff is usually ignored.
This
And also to sell merchandise.
Like a pet?
Aren’t soul gems a good thing? I don’t get why they’d be mad about it? This is a weird episode.
Come here. I want to show you something.
dogshit fuck you
Try watching it. I said the same thing before I did.
Literally a pleb filter
t. Kyubey
Yeah, it's rare that I enjoy a series in nearly every regard.
Well, except for the fact that Rebellion ended things on another depressing cliffhanger that may never be resolved.
They are already ded
It basically just helps them not die. Just because their soul isn’t in their body shouldn’t mean anything because they still have it. It makes them a lot tougher that way so there’s no reason to be mad because it’s an upgrade if anything.
I think it's just the whole matter of realizing that their bodies aren't even their own. They're just piloting dead puppets that will stop working if they ever run out of magic.
They’re still able to think, breathe, love, laugh and do everything just the same. Just because their soul isn’t located directly in their body shouldn’t mean anything. I’d get if it was far away in space but it’s right in their pocket,
Well it’s still their own body. They grew up in it and they’re still in control of it from the inside. They see out their body. They’re not watching their bodies in third person or anything so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
That whole second paragraph was you saying its bad because it threw you off. Visuals not matching the theme? Since when is that a thing in anime. Then you just go on to rant because youre mad.
Kyouko is best girl until episode 10.
To be fair they're what? 14? It's a pretty big existential load to drop on someone who hasn't even graduated high school.
So why does it seem that quite a few people on Yea Forums think this has had one of if not the greatest impacts on the industry since eva? I understand it's a great show, but how did it specifically impact the industry?
Kyoko was fine but sayaka wasnt because it came at a time when she wanted to be with that violin fuck. She even held madoka and cried. Saying she cant ask him to hold her when shes a zombie.
The whole point of the energy gathering was that teen girls are emotional.
see
Thanks, but how is one genre a significant impact on the industry? One that many think is one of the greatest impacts.
True.
Compared to something like isekai, it is just peanuts.
But Mahou Shoujo genre is unique in anime. So a show that has huge impact on such genre would be regarded as a big deal.
I'd need to veto the concept of this being anything other than an alright gateway to magical girl anime. It's okay, though there's also better ways to be introduced. Lyrical Nanoha's original two seasons. (FataNano for life)
I got an idea of what mahou shoujo generally was without getting a bad preconception of the genre. I can enjoy Cardcaptor Sakura and the other classics.
But just talking, Shaft's, work, I must say, the Monogatari franchise is just better if not THE anime franchise to watch.
Mech anime is also dead.
Eva didn’t have a big impact. It’s just a meme. Shows like Gundam, Pokémon and such had way more.
WOIT! Get Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku outta there! It's more than an anime, it's a LN franchise.
Too bad. Everybody knows anime originals > adaptations
I forgot.
It is still shitty Madoka ripoff.
yuri and yurishitters ruined everything
I don't think it is. I just feel like the author had the idea before Madoka, and couldn't get it published because the concept of magical girls 'killing' each other do well? Probably didn't translate well to publishers.
Cue Madoka Magica. The anime does well, and the gates are open. Then, Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, gets published.
The books could've been the, Hunger Games, of Japan. Yet, it just gets dismissed as just a ripoff.
Not enough Kyoko and Sayaka in this thread.
>She's helped me improve myself
How so?
Still doesn't change the fact that it tries to capitalize on Madoka's success.
Rebellion brought that shit and killed the threads, I liked it more when we were trying to give little poorfag a better life
found the speed watcher
based as fuck user
>tfw jealous of kyouko but still happy for sayaka
is this what it's like to be in love?
You're breathtaking. Night, user.
The author likely didn't intend to capitalize on Madoka. A majority of writing projects are because the author enjoys writing the story. Not an attempt to cash in on the latest trends. If you can't enjoy writing for something, then your writings probably aren't going to turn out well.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku has also continued well beyond the release of Madoka Magica.
>A majority of writing projects are because the author enjoys writing the story.
Fucking really??
It was you who assumed that, Ikusei Keikaku, was a cash grab. Anime are typical just a vehicle to promote the source material. At most, the anime was promoting the original novels, not trying to ride on Madoka's success.
That episode was a global mind blown, so you are not the only one. Yea Forums exploded, no, Yea Forums exploded that day, threads on every single board.
That was a beautiful day
>That was a beautiful day
Sure it was.
Only overshadowed by the last two-episode.
We filled whole thread in like 1 minute and then Yea Forums broke.
>I tried really hard to like Sayaka but now I just hate her
Glad to see that I made it to the screenshot
only brainlets who don't understand it dont like it
madokami being jesus is a half-baked meme, she is, in really a kind of terrenal buda
is wraith arc canon? this is crucial for that certain part of homura monologue
you forgot Yea Forums, holy shit that place...
>madokami and braidmura exist in the same timeline
I really don´t understand, did they wanted to ditch rebellion?
>Lain
rewatching this and I really can understand why they put an infodump about some old hypothesis aside flavor
*can't
It's yurishit so it's bad
Deal with it.
differences in philosophy
Sayaka assumed that since the soul is no longer part of her body, she's no longer human. Getting your soul ripped out and put in a glorified battery is bad enough, but she got emotional and made a whole bunch of assumptions like that she's a zombie. The point is Sayaka and the girls are emotional and irrational.
I don't think the point of the image is to say Madoka is shit.
I assumed the Madoka threads became infested with shippers after the anime was done airing but before Rebellion.
No.
This anime is wasted on meme studio like SHAFT
Imagine if it was Kyoto instead
user, your life is a meme.
i feel like that much is obvious, there is barely any relevant christian symbolism or parallels aside from madoka being jesus if you choose to interpret it that way
Where the fuck did kyouko disappear to after episode 9
Can you elaborate on the "elemental" view? That's the first I've heard of that kind of take and I'd be interested in hearing your reasoning.
This guy gets it
armpits?
I only worship Homucifer
looks like mami is packing a thick sausage in this image
