The mats only have common friends as rate ups, you can place 10 of them in the mountains. With no other rate ups, the game basically runs out of common friends to spawn and starts pulling uncommon friends.
So basically, you just wait for Serval, Arai-san, Alpaca, etc. to spawn, keep them in place with coins, and then wait for uncommon friends to spawn in the remaining spots.
This probably also works in the desert.

Honestly the majority of this lore didn't even exist during the first season. Plus Kemono Friends uses alternate universes for its various spinoffs, and I personally think S2 is different enough from S1 to qualify as a different universe anyways.

Yes, Just Pro lost or let go all the voice actress working on PPP and Doubutsu Biscuits on a span of half a year, first was Kana Motomiya (Fennec) on October 31th 2018, then was Tamura Kyouka (Gentoo Penguin) at the end of December 2018 and the last one was Saki Ono (Arai-san) on April 30th 2019.
The only one left is Komori Misae (Shoebill), but I think she has not voiced Shebill since the end of the first season, so it is like her character is dead.
I think Just Pro just wanted to let go the actresses involved on Kemofure, so they could focus better in their new projects like Kemurikusa.

Well, I was talking more about the way of doing voice work for her character on an anime episode or short or singing some song for a single or album, things she has not done since the end of KF1.
But yeah, I was also trying to remember if she did participate on some live event, so it was Animelo the one I was trying to remember.
And yeah, the only voice work she has done since KF1 is Love Kome, that curiously enough is also a production by Yaoyorozu and Fukuhara, although animated by a different company.
The thing here is that she is not only a voice actress, she has done and is still doing different types of work, so she could drop being a voice actress and still keep working in the entertainment industry.

Still, to see a voice actress renouncing to her character after only two and an half years it is something not common to see, maybe she thought initially that KF was only an one year job were she would work as voice actress for a 12 episodes series, record some songs, go to a few events and then all done, but then Kemofure became monster size and she saw herself on something bigger than originally expected, so maybe she wants to go back to an easier life, because not all people may feel all right living the life of as a popular idol.
