So what happens now? Schtrom had a pretty good reason to do what he did and he's pretty much done but his underlings are going to start shit now? Does he do anything to stop them or what? Kind of strange to have a villain with decent motives and put into such a position that isn't pure evil in an isekai series.

His underlings want to take over the world and need him since he's the most powerful. Shin is pretty much the only guy who could stand in the way of this so they want to take him out. I guess Schtrom just does not give a fuck what they do and they are trying to make a situation in which he'll have to act.

I thought his backstory was relatively grounded. Any story about nobles being big pieces of shit doesn't seem too unrealistic to me. Guy treats commoners well, they all start flocking to his land, then the other nobles sabotage him to maintain the status quo and the retard commoners act out without thinking things through. Schtrom did nothing wrong.

You know, I'm actually somewhat impressed with the political subterfuge the nobles did and their reasons were pretty understandable. Not only did they trick their enemy into staying but the spread of fake news to uneducated commoners was competent. Interesting to see what Schtrom will do now with no goal to strive for.

When that doesn't work they decide to look for his weakness and find out he's very protective of his wife, so they change their strategy to demonizing him instead.
