Yes, and he alone is immune to what would've happened during that process. Example: Narancia's bullets

Here's my best explanation, OP:
Diavolo has a main stand, King Crimson, and a substand, Epitaph. Epitaph has the ability to see 10 seconds in the future, a pretty simple ability. King Crimson has the ability to "erase" 10 seconds at most. Now, what does "erasing time" mean? Basically, Diavolo activates his ability and the world around him enters a very bizarre state in which everyone unconsciously acts as predicted by Epitaph while Diavolo ie free to do whatever he wants and nothing able to harm him or interact with him in any way. When the ability is deactivated, no one except Diavolo will be able to remember the 10 seconds skipped. Easy, right?

Ping Crimson makes the world lag and uses it to his advantage. Simple.

Ezpz

Time keeps skipping forward in greater intervals as the episode continues. Characters act as normal during time skips but have no memory of doing so.

I know this is just a meme.
Diavolo views himself 10 seconds into the future using epitaph, the second face of king crimson.
If he doesn't like what he sees, he can skip it so whatever happens to him in the vision doesn't happen to him in real life.

>dodge attacks and position yourself to fuck your enemies up

>protip: anyone caught in kc ability won't remember the 10 seconds in which it was activated, making figuring out it's effect pretty damn hard
>downside: you have to physically dodge the attacks even, so fighting multiple opponents is tricky

No, that's the mistranslation.
He literally blows however many seconds within that ten out of the universe so they don't happen.
Example: Bullets passing through him and hitting Nero...in the face.

Like you know the REAL inside baseball regarding KC and Diavolo.

Attached: fuckthi.png (938x1300, 194K)

Sees the future.
Can initiate his time erase, where everyone takes actions they do not remember when it ends. Diavolo exists outside that erased time and can reposition himself in space freely.
However the actions everyone takes in erased time will be as if Diavolo was still there performing the actions Epitaph foretold (ex. Buccurati was punching at a "phantom" Diavolo during one of the first time erasures)

Heaven's Door seems way better.

If everybody moves according to ''fate'' except for Diavolo, then why do his actions directly affect their fate? Risotto was not predicted to get shot by bullets, Diavolo erases that effect for himself, he doesn't get shot, but now suddenly Risotto gets the bullets. This isn't just skipping the timeline, this is a direct change of outcome to everybody involved not just himself. The bullets should just cease to exist at that point cus they ''hit'' Diavolo but that specific outcome was nullified. It's bullshit.

Heaven's Door is basically the cheat codes at life stand, and its fortunate to the world that Rohan doesn't abuse its full potential.
Dude was able to make it work on a cooked chicken leg to see when it would expire in one of the side stories - sky is the limit to what the hell it is capable of.

If Diavolo didn't erase time, the bullets would just hit both of them, penetrating Diavolo and continuing to hit Risotto.

If he didn't have to there would be no weakness, even against multiple opponents. The only possible risk would be attacks that have no visible activation action and no visible effect for at least 10 seconds.

There is no weakness.
The only weakness is GER.

He still has a cooldown between time skips to worry about and is restricted to close range punching, against multiple opponents he could erase time, punch one as it ends, but then he is surrounded by all the others

Star Platinum can get him if he doesn't see the time stop coming.

How can Diavolo defeat pic?

Polnareff actually almost got him by noticing when the time fuck happened and attacking where he predicted Diavolo would be. Diavolo is clever, but vulnerable right after King Crimson ends if he's not in a position to instantly fuck you up. Like the other user said, I think Jotaro would actually have a reasonable time beating him.

Everyone except for king crimson has collective amnesia and enters into a sort of “auto attack” state for ten seconds. That said, Dio’s ability is more useful.

Inconsistently. Simple.

>Diavolo activates KC

>Anyone caught in KC ability won't remember the 10 seconds in which it was activated

Send in Notorious B.I.G.

After Kira?

notorious large*

Ot would go like this:
If Jotaro decides to Stop Time right away, Diavolo sees it in the future, erases it from time, and punches Jotaro in his cooldown.
If Diavolo goes on offense first and Jotaro does what Polnareff did and reacts to the skip, he can stop time before Diavolo can attack and end it.

Epitah allows him too see 10 seconds into the future. If he sees something he doesn't like, he activates king crimson, which causes a strange effect that diavolo calls "erasing time", even though that doesn't make sense. For ten seconds, diavolo and king crimson become physically intangable. Everyone else is forced to do exactly what they were going to do for those 10 seconds even if it involved diovalo doing something or being somewhere and that not actually happening. Only diavolo is able to remember things that hapoen over this period, to everyone else, it seems as though time has skipped forward. King crimson cannot attack people during the skipped time but also can't be attacked, but diavolo can and does use it to get behind people and strike them as soon as the effect ends. King Crimson's time effect is strictly less powerful than The World, which can stike people during stopped time without risk of counter attack, but it's harder for someone to figure out, unless you just fucking explain it to your enemies like Diavolo did just to flex on a dead man for no reason.

Here you go:

Then how does he kill Narancia or splash blood in people's faces?

But he skips time

He can only use his skill within 2 meter range.
He can choose if the actions that occur during this period have an effect or not.
In other words: He can choose between erase time (denying the effect of the actions within his range, acting as if they never happened) or skipping the time (The actions maintain their effect, but nobody but him remembers what happened).

If his opponent is within this range, he can attack him without problem, as if time is stopped: basically he creates a space where he decides which actions have an effect and which ones do not; and where he can move with complete freedom.

If his opponent is out or the action started out of range, but the attack / effect is within the range, he can erase the moment when it would normally hit / affect him, making it disappear on one side and reappear on the other, like he did with Aerosmith's bullets.
He can use this ability to give the sensation of teleporting, since he skip the moment in which he would move to another point, leaving only the action of having reached that particular place; even if it is more than two meters away, as long as it gives him time to arrive in those 10 seconds.
He can make a person coexist in the present with his future self, erasing / skipping time in the place where that person will be in the future within 10 second margin. However, that future self cannot move because it's just a "frame" in the flow of time.
As the present time advances and reaches the moment when King Crimson activates his ability, the present self begins to disappear and, once completely disappeared, the future self begins to move normally, since at that moment the future has been become into the present due the natural flow of time.

Thanks to Epitaf, he knows exactly all the actions that will happen in the next 10 seconds (within his range), whether he activates his time erasure ability or not.

>Send in Notorious B.I.G.
Could it eat SHA?

No, he just mind controls people and turns intangable. Targets THINK that time was skipped but that's not how it really works. Just like how The World makes Dio look like he's teleporting.

His ability is jump scares. The individual uses of KC don't abide to a singular set of rules, regardless of what Araki describes it as.

it allows me to draw two more cards

Skips time.
Now shut up and fuck off.

Hmmmmm. But what does that entail?

King Crimson becomes much easier to understand when you realize the answer to "then what about when [...]?" is "Araki is inconsistent".

Better question is, how do we fix it as a whole?

Because they were fated to be acted upon by him. If Epitaph predicts that Diavolo kills someone, then they're just FUCKED. No ifs, ands, or buts. This is best exemplified when he uses Epitaph to see that he's going to kill Giorno in the final battle.

However it won't always do that, so he can't rely on Epitaph showing that he'll kill or hurt someone, hence him mostly using KC to move around and strike.

Why was Diavolo so obsessed with killing Abbacchio when the face that Abbacchio got wasn't going to allow them to track him down on the internet anyway?

Hell, why exactly do they need the boss' identity anyway? What exactly were they going to do with it? La Squadra and BuccGang wanted the boss' identity so they could look him up on the internet and find no results? What did they hope to accomplish?

It's better than nothing.

What is the practical use of this though if the end result is the same?

They were desperate and that's the best idea they could come up with.

It confuses the fuck out of people because they go through their motions without being able to consciously change them or prepare for the worst during that time. They become sleeping slaves to fate. It's basically just a tool to disorient.

In addition, Epitaph is required to use the ability and it's literally future vision, which is useful in itself.

It was a first step, and searching the bosses face ended up alerting Polnareff to contact them. There's a reason the boss was so desperate to remain completely anonymous that he'd kill his own daughter to prevent anyone from using her to maybe find out who he is.

Yep, ten secs in a flash

He's like a traveling jazz player or some shit so you never see him

Araki wrote himself into a corner. Bruno's plan was completely retarded. If they wanted his ''identity'' they could've just replayed him in the San Giorgio Maggiore church right there, he fled the scene anyway. And that would STILL lead them nowhere, but atleast the appearance would be more relevant than the one 15 years ago when he wasn't even a mafia boss. His look/identity whatever is ultimately completely irrelevant. Even more so when he's hiding in the form of Doppio most of the time and doesn't have a stationary residence. It's a really poorly thought out story, and not even in the ''plot is weird but fun'' way but increasingly frustrating as things go on, and no muh themes can excuse that. Shame, cus the potential of ''mafia with stands'' premise of this part is great.

>searching the bosses face ended up alerting Polnareff to contact them.
This is a scenario without taking that literal deus ex machina with his win-mcguffin into account.

So your argument is that they were in a seemingly hopeless battle against a large organization with an evil leader, and were just scraping for whatever they could get? That's what Buccialati told his crew they were in for, and they followed him because they believed in him. Everything they were going for was seen by the gang as "it's a start." Polnareff contacted them with his mcguffin when he did because it was time for the part to end.

Honestly the part 5 plot is fucking retarded. Why did diavolo attack trish in the elevator instead of just telling bruno to drop her off on the top floor? It's not like bruno could have even known for sure that it was the boss that took her. And then he fucks around, explains his stand power to an injured bruno for no reason. Why didn't he just kill bruno immediately? Hell, why didn't he cut off trish's head instead of her hand?

I dont like mustard king crimson

Trips of truth.

>Everything they were going for was seen by the gang as "it's a start."
But the Boss knows he's been betrayed and is already after their asses at that point, how are they thinking of getting the upper hand by knowing his ''identity'' which he doesn't even have. They gonna spot him randomly at some café? Knock on his mansion? Honestly like you have the only actual relevant link to the Boss with you already, that is Trish, and she can sense his presence which is actually useful. Not to mention her stand ability is a complete mystery to the Boss. Why don't they discuss these things over and use actual teamwork to demonstrate that they're not all complete bumbling morons even tho we're led to believe they're a close-knit team. Then they get to Sardinia and Abbacchio starts the replay and not only are they not all present there asap to protect his ass cus he's vulnerable but half of them are guessing what the plan even was, are you retarded? Ofc they have to be for the story to go the way Araki wants.

>Polnareff contacted them with his mcguffin when he did because it was time for the part to end.
Yes, it was time for the part to end because the plot was so derailed at that point that that was his only cop-out.

>And then he fucks around, explains his stand power to an injured bruno for no reason.
Like every Jojo antagonist ever.
Maybe acquiring a Stand give you OCD and you constantly feel the need to brag about your powers.

Attached: 74844534287342983993.png (3001x1373, 872K)

I mean it's pretty simple, firves the end results. That's all there is to it.

>how are they thinking of getting the upper hand by knowing his ''identity'' which he doesn't even have
They don't know. They're taking what they can get in hopes that it'll lead them to where the boss disappeared to, hoping that each clue leads to another. It's that, or lay down and die, or continue on serving evil.
>not protecting Abbachio
I agree this was retarded. I don't think part 5's plot was well written, but I feel the character motivations at least were alright.

I gave kira a pass because he's an insane serial killer, not a ruthless mafia boss. Hell, Dio didn't even hint at what his stand did until it had been revealed, which he actually tried to stop.

>It won't always do that
If KC's fate and actions get to persist through the skips, we're back at "donut everyone always." Because if he's going in with the mentality of recklessly trading with someone knowing KC will bail him out, it should be near constantly attainable

Basically, it s

Isnt lisa lisa jojo's mother?

People are confused enough when the villains do explain their powers, if they didn't no-one would have a fucking clue what's going on, especially with how confusing black and white jojo panels can sometimes be.

There has to be some extra bit of reality fuckery going on, because why did Aerosmith's bullets just phase through him when he activated it in the Metallica fight?

Araki had her hand cut for 2 reasons: random horror-y shock factor and excuse to cause Bruno to sperg out. This could all be cleanly avoided. Wasn't your plan to track down the boss or whatever? Give Trish the bug brooch and now they've got a lead on wherever he takes her with him. Maybe he doesn't even try to kill her and she goes off with him somewhere while remaining a spy for the team. I dunno, you could handle it all sorts of ways. Just give us something, some cat and mouse back and forth scheming with these characters, everyone cept Giorno have been in this business for years, especially Bruno so he should really know better. And have Giorno be an actual useful asset to the team as a smart trickster and thief(yeah remember that aspect?) rather than healer messiah resolve-jesus.

He's immune to the ramifications of fate while in KC's world. So he activated KC for a time long enough for Aerosmith's bullets to pass through.

>"vague capacity to interact with things"
>doesn't just either donut people from "skipped time" or constantly chuck shit at them for when it ends
3/10

The time in which the bullets passed through his body was skipped. King Crimson can be activated for as many seconds as Diavolo sees fit, up to a certain limit of perhaps a dozen seconds.

Attached: BC554BA0-603F-482C-BBEC-C4737679A59D.jpg (600x600, 73K)

Retard, if he donuts someone in skipped time the action won’t occur and if he throws shit at people, unless whatever he threw took exactly the perfect amount of seconds to hit someone, the impact would be deleted as well

He cut off her hand because Bruno was holding it. His goal was to remove her from the elevator. Presumably if Bruno had not been holding her hand he would have just taken her entire body.

>Jotaro becomes a delinquent because his dad's not around
Is Araki woke on single motherhood?

Why didn't he just kill her immediately? Why didn't he just let him drop her off and leave?

>Why didn't he just kill her immediately?
In the elevator? Because that would leave evidence. After he removed her from the elevator? Because he had to make sure it was really her.

>Why didn't he just kill her immediately?
He'd have to reveal himself to Buccellati by killing in a lit elevator. In addition Epitaph didn't show him killing her immediately so he couldn't do it during a skip.

>Why didn't he just let him drop her off and leave?
Because he's autistic as fuck, and also had to make sure it was really Trish.

But how did he interact with her during King Crimson? I understand from that, for instance with Polnareff, he probably just placed the blood such that it would splash his eyes when KC ended, but in an instant, Trish's body was gone and Diavolo had taken her out of the elevator. How was that possible without Bruno noticing unless it happened during KC? I guess it just works.
Yes. Joseph was disrespectful and irreverent, Jotaro showed nothing but contempt for his family (on the surface), Giorno joined a gang, and Jolyne ended up in prison.

Attached: jojo45.jpg (1920x1080, 367K)

>Funny things araki have an hard on to italy but the italian names he uses doesnt makes sense Giovanna it's a female name (like johanne, Giovanni (jhon) it's italian male counterpart
Yeah but atleast you could say that it's a weird transliteration of his original Japanese name so it's bizzareee or whatever, but there's no excuse for something like Pannacotta and Narancia etc. Bruno, Guido, Leone are atleast normal names, do whatever theme-y shit you want with their surnames.

Giovanna as last name isn't really common (Giovanni or Di Giovanni are used), nor giorno is common as name
Still a missed opportunity to call him Giovanni Giorgio
youtube.com/watch?v=KRSahFJziUU
it's still a missed opportunity

>He'd have to reveal himself to Buccellati by killing in a lit elevator.
He cut off her hand. Just do her head instead
>Epitaph didn't show him killing her immediately
Entirely because of his own stupid intentions
>Because he's autistic as fuck,
Fair enough.

I won't pretend to be knowledgeable about Italian names. They're not common, but are they sensible? Like, do you go "that's unusual?", or "that's bullshit?"

Attached: jojo28.jpg (1920x1078, 231K)

Yes i always thought it was a simple mistakes by araki, I believed that even in the italian official translation is called Giovanna, and you still have the same funny names like narancia
I'am still ok with this love araki and the fact that he like italy so much is awesome

Epitaph: Diavolo witnesses the fated events surrounding himself within a 10 second timeframe in one instant

King Crimson: The fated events unfold for Diavolo and space/time becomes warped and he's allowed to skip to the end with everyone forgetting their memories of the fated events. However two things usually come into play within those fated events: whether or not they'll work in Diavolo's favor.

If the fated events work in his favor (he kills someone, hurts someone, he dodged/ran away) then he can just skip to the end to let it play out in his favor with everyone's memory becoming wiped as well.

If the fated events don't work in his favor (he gets hurt, killed, maimed etc.) he becomes incorporeal and is allowed to move into an optimal position to avoid his own fate while everyone plays out the same (even if Diavolo "moved" away, for them it's as if Diavolo was still there and they act as such).

This is why he can't harm or hurt anyone within the 10-second timeskip unless he's fated to do so (also why he doesn't just donut everyone), otherwise he only acts outside of the fated events after King Crimson's timeskip. Doppio using KC is a different story though since he can only use Epitaph and basically change his movements depending on the fated events that he witnesses.

Attached: 1560078606045.jpg (1592x1905, 319K)

They should've localised some of it desu for atleast some consistency and it wouldn't even be hard, like Fugo to Ugo which is an actual name, or Arancia/Arancino like the food.

Neverheard of someone called Giorno as name but meet someone who had it last name , nor i've ever met someone who as Giovanna as last name
But I've got a highscools friends called "Di Giovanni" as last name and i know like 20+ ppl called Giovanni but zero Giorno
Italian's name are little original and often taken by gran-parents or parents
I'm Giuseppe named after my grandfather. and my cousins is also Giuseppe
When i met new ppl there is like a 30% chance they are Giuseppe too

Wasn't it implied that Jonathan wouldn't have turned out to be the fine gentleman that he was if Dio hadn't come along to provide as competition?

It was a different time. Also, that was a single FATHER.

Then he'd be a GioGioGio, Keep the Giorno cus of the day/life theme but switch his name to Giovanni so you get Giovanni Giorno and still remain a kind of a wink wink to that song.

FPBP

Keeping the result and removing the process can be a completely radical change in events. Shooting yourself in the head but skipping only to the part where the bullet is behind you makes you survive. It's huge.

You are a cool dude, i suspect you are italian yourself
Narancia it's obviously a Mistake by Araki he may be asked how is called "an orange" in italian and he misheard "un'arancia" wich is literally "an orange", as one orange
Or asked someone which fruits is this to someone speaking dialect who responded him "N'arancia" wich is common in italy's numerous dialect
It's like when we italian immigrate to America and lots of ppl here called it "Merica" since we use both article "la" and "l" so "l'America" become "la Merica"

my best explanation
>sees ten seconds into the future

>everyone near KC except Diavolo goes on autopilot and is technically unconscious while they do what was foreseen by epitaph
>Diavolo becomes a semi-ghost and can either move freely or do things epitaph saw him doing but not both (maybe)
>after at most ten seconds, everything goes back to normal and only Diavolo knows what happened during that time

Why not throw a plastic bag on your head as you stop time?

In Futurama the whole universe is aware that time skipped. Why in JoJo only stand users can notice this?

I said single mother, not single parent, retard.

I think it's more that only nearby people are noticing, or that the only people we readers/viewers see reacting are the main characters, who are all stand users.

>the action won't occur
Then you can't have him interacting with things.
>he would need to time it perfectly
Good thing he's shown that he's plenty good at that?

I assume the ability is localized to an extent, maybe the size of a city block. If it wasn't I think Diavolo would notice the headlines of "5 MILLION CARS CRASH IN 1 MINUTE WORLDWIDE"

You can't mess with time only in certain place.

KC doesn't actually mess with time at all, just causality and memory.

I like this explanation the best.

Because it didn't happen.

you are welcome

>Dude was able to make it work on a cooked chicken leg to see when it would expire in one of the side stories

lol, wut?

Punch through rock and steel like butter
Erase and skip past time with yourself as the only viewer of that time
Able to choose that you can interact with or phase through objects in erased/skipped time
Can see the future from his own future perspective for ten to fifteen seconds

It's pretty much overpowered as shit.

He erases time. That erased time is unknown to everything except him, and nothing that happens in the erased time impacts him.

DP has done a great job animating King Crimson. You officially have to have an IQ in the 70s to not understand it

Based, diavoro is gorgeous (not more than Doppio though)

He sees ten seconds into the future and removes himself from the events, letting everything play out except for the fact that he's not there. Then he positions himself in a spot that works so he can donut you after the "deleted" time. The time still happens, saying it's "deleted" is a really stupid way of explaining it. Diavolo basically just removes himself from the next ten seconds and goes "you guys do what you do I'm just gonna not exist for a little bit then come back and donut you from behind."

diavolo is kinda hot, bros

Wrong.

If King Crimson works as shown then Free Will dosen't exist in the JoJo universe.

Takes out the cause, leaves the effect.

Sorta. Araki believes pretty heavily in predestination and fate and all that, so it's pretty central to Part 5. The overall idea is that some shit is just unavoidable, but that doesn't mean you can't give the world your all and follow the right path until the end

>Jotaro raised by a single mother
>Joseph raised by a single grandmother
>Josuke raised by a single mother
>Giorno raised by an abusive mother and an abusive stepdad
>Jolyne raised by a single mother
>Johnny raised by a neglectful father
>Gappy doesn't know who his parents are
>Jonathan raised by a single father
>Jonathan was the only Jojo to not be an asshole
what did Araki mean by this?

It's explained in the manga as why he has those names. His original original name Haruno Shiobana could be prounounced shoruno shiobana. if you add four dashed lines you get joruno jobana which is prounced the same way japanese people pronounce Giorno Giovanna. Also araki made him symbolise venus and apollo or something

reminder that king crimson's catalog is now on spotify so you have no excuse to keep associating them with this meme

I still remember the time when I experienced King Crimson.

virtualdub.

>Epitaph activates - diavolo sees what will happen in 10 seconds
>Activate King Crimson - diavolo enters the world of skipped time, where everyone but himself goes on autopilot and follows they FATED path
>diavolo dodges attacks, moves attacks (no attacks do not pass trough him despite the metallica fight)
>Time resumes - everyone is where they're fated path took them in 10 seconds with no memory of what transpired while King Crimson's realm of skipped time was active
>Also diavolo sees the trajectories of every person's fated actions while in skipped time - this is probably how epitaph works
>King Crimson's actual power is giving Diavolo control over his fate

>but that doesn't mean you can't give the world your all and follow the right path until the end
But that was also predetermined to happen then, they're still all robots with no agency. It's just shallow fatalism. Some characters will die stupid deaths but it's ok cus ''fate'', and others will get completely fucked over but wont die cus ''fate''. It's just a plot armor switch so Araki can (try to) excuse his dumb bullshit.

You can.

That sounds like the power from one of the charachter of hxh.Too lazy to find a photo where the guy explains his power.

That wouldn't kill Dio, Star Platinum punched a hole in his chest and he was healed by his vampire powers in moments.
