I can't help but think that as soon as this flashback arc ends, Negi won't continue with Yotsuba arc right away, and we'll go with Itsuki, but with Yotsuba kind of mixed on it.
I really think all things point out to a final showdown between Itsuki and Yotsuba. And given how things are unfolding, Yotsuba will fool herself into thinking that she doesn't deserve Fuutarou, and she'll try to cheer for Itsuki and maybe things will go smoothly until she sees her kissing him, or something, then she'll realize that the first quote of this post isn't what she really wants, and she'll confess to Fuutarou or something, starting the final arc when Fuutarou realizes who he really loves probably Yotsuba is winning

If this was shocking to you then you really need to reread the series from chapter one user. I really don't see how this chapter is a divergence from her characterization. There have been hints about her true character since literally chapter 1, and it was always a matter of when this sort of reveal would happen rather than an if. Seriously, I do recommend you do a complete reread, we had speculation about Yotsuba since way back when.
And I think you need to take another look at these chapters again too if the most you got out of it was "she's such a drama queen!" She's a girl who had some insecurities about her individuality that was exasperated by really poorly timed circumstances and misunderstandings on her part. While she definately took some things in a completely different way than they were meant to be taken (be an example turned into be the best, took her mom's comment on being different into in a negative light, etc.), it's pretty understandable given the context.
The Ichika thing in particular was a notable breaking point, since it's one thing to have one of your sisters hang out with the guy you wanted to befriend, it's a whole other story when your identical sister pretends to be you to hang out with that friend. So taking that poorly isn't really being a drama queen, but being pretty fucking human.

Fuutaro said that since the bell kiss he thought of the bride as special, and Nino had already made her forward declaration of love by that point and was very forthright about her feelings.
