Who's your most and least favorite character from SSSS Gridman?
My is Akane. She just wanted to be in her own world, where nothing would bother her, and tried her best to have fun in it, until it all came crumbling down and reality pulled her out of it.
My least favorite is Yuta. He could have just let Akane be happy, but he kept bother her and bothering her, and it caused her to slowly break down. Even when Akane tried being friends with him, tried getting the fighting to stop, he wouldn't do it because he wanted to keep fighting and bothering Akane.
I thought it sucked too, but it got better and better as time got on. The main focus at first is a bit off throwing and misleading.
I don't really like Yuta, but I don't think Rika deserves him. He constantly fights for her, and helps her so much, and she doesn't do a single thing to repay him.
It was more how she was handled in the show, I feel like she really really should've been penalized by her peers as the psychopath she was, and moments where people even yuta just let her get away with loads of shit [the episode where her and yuta had dinner and alexis showed up was fucking painful, yuta was a fucking personalityless slate for her to spiel too for most of it], it would've made the eventual payoff of redemption and forgiveness much more worthwhile and impactful but instead it felt like she just got away with being fucking awful scott free

That's when you take everything at face value. Everything that happened wasn't real, and was made up in Akane's mind. That's why she got away with it. What makes her a great character is that she falls more and more into depression because he dream is becoming ruined because the people she made keeps trying to reel her back into the real world to have her be responsible, and at the end, she finally opens up and enters the real world, and stops dreaming.
I never understand why people were so invest on shipping those two. Yuta is bland as fuck and has no real personality. Most of his 'interaction' with Rikka is him being a creepy fuck and keep staring at her.
I think it's self inserters because Yuta is bland enough for it to work

You are probably missing all audio dramas where she is much more prominent than in the anime. She is a streamer and Utsumi has an interest in her which leads to the most entertaining ship in the entire series. She has a sharp tongue, quirky personality and, last but not least, she is thick. Also, she is a Gridman version of Soundwave which is nice and she wears the mask which is kinda kinky.

Akane was also my favorite but for very different reasons, being a multifaceted childlike villain. I didn't really have any Character that was my least favorite, I liked them all to some extent.
Interesting take but you forget that she was being manipulated and was essentially abducted from the real world by a dangerous cyber criminal under false pretenses. She was having fun but eventually Alexis played his hand and used her as base for a Kaiju when she stopped making them for him, that likely would have happened sooner or later even if Yuta/Gridman didn't step in. They saved her user, she has the chance to go out and find what real friendship is now.
