Eventually she betrayed the group, teleported far away to hide her baby. The reason she didn't stay with her kid is because she was scared they would track her down, so she returned and has been fighting against that group ever since.

So yeah Angie isn't even human. The reason she doesn't look like an elf either is because of the homonculus influence.
