if they were upfront about the time skip in the beginning and him finding the place after loosing contact with the girl, while still assuming she might be there even after a few years later, it wouldn't have been criticised so harshly for that specific plot point. like, oh wow you're in the future thats weird, I wonder what I'll be like in a few years time? I'll wait to meet you there user-kun etc, while the twist being that the village is destroyed

We're all entitled to our opinions, but at the end of the day the movie skillfully manipulates your emotions and captivates your interest. Is it high art? Perhaps not, but that doesn't make it any less great.
Though I guess if a person doesn't have feelings, they wouldn't be impressed by it.

i was meant to watch it with a friend who saw it with his gf. i lost the mood to watch it in theaters and instead waited til it was dl for HD. i asnt in the mood for a serious watch until today lol
