You might first say Touma easily does not follow this; he has purpose, he has cares, etc, etc, etc.
But the truth of the matter is Touma has no overall objective he has set his life to; he does as he desires, without care for logic, emotion, or morality. If he thinks Othinus deserves her sparing, for lets be honest her current form is hardly punishment, he will put aside the obvious facts of immorality even he is aware of.

I don't believe Touma is perfect in all this, completely able to leave emotion, logic, etc, but he is far closer to the normal man than most men are.
