Yes. The first part could be forgiven, after all it's just the first in a trilogy, and the third actually gave us the monster battle, even if it was underwhelming.
But the second movie? Nah bro, we're just gonna rehash the strategy from the first movie. Not only that, but we're going to take an idea like MECHAGODZILLA CITY and not fucking do anything interesting with it.

It was a good series. It just wasn't the good anime monster romp everyone, including Urobuchi, wanted, because execs said no and saddled him with a director who had never even watched Kaiju movies before. Come at it as its own thing and it's perfectly fine.
