Of all his movies I will never understand why people pick this one as their favorite. Sure the bath house is a cool set piece with a sensory overload appear by how much stuff is going on. But other than that it's a pretty straight forward fish out of water story.

The Chinese government has been harsh with screening Japanese movies on their cinemas, they didn't give that kind of treatment with Hollywood or Bollywood either; for reasons I'm sure we could've figured out. Only last year when they screened My Neighbor Totoro and it did decently well, did the tension started to loosening up. So now they gave the greenlight for Spirited Away as well.
