Then there are derivative artists who see a work and copy it and alter it subtle ways like The Last Supper by both Di Vinci and Michelangelo. Of course, as a primer to the philosophy of HxH, the obvious answer is Hegel. I'd suggest beginning with "The Phenomenology of Spirit" and then move to the more difficult work: "Science of Logic". I'd also like to suggest H. P. Lovecraft (We will see a lot of references to him in the Dark Continent arc), you might start with entry-level titles like ""The Call of Cthulhu" or "Necronomicon".
