It got tennis'd just like last week. Will probably be delayed just a day.

Is this raw fake?

It's dolphin porn

Has the snake shown up yet?

No 1 or 2 more episodes until he does

Okay thanks.

>All the Kyo angst this episode
feels so good

What did Kyo recall back then? Kagura's removal of his bracelet?

Who here is ready for Dog to be an asshole?

Attached: malicious.jpg (1121x632, 42K)

Ready for dog to be best boy like always

No, it's real. I can't speak Japanese, unfortunately, or I'd subtitle it.

>Best

You mean worst.

>mfw this is finally the episode where all of Yea Forums realizes what an asspull and shit-ship Shigure/Akito is.

>know you're cursed
>have a dream about your God's impending birth that you automatically feel drawn to BECAUSE of the curse
>So autistic that you interpret it as "true love" when all your fellow cursed members are smart enough to see the difference
>Become MUH DREAM the character

Him and his entire "arc" was literally only put in this story for shipping bait, this whole "love story" reads like typical, wish-fulfillment, otaku tripe. Miyazaki was right, anime was a mistake.

I thought I was finally free from your shitposting but here we are.

wait, they made a remake? why

No it was and a very large spoiler When he didn't stop Kyoko from getting hit by the car which is one of the biggest reasons he holds on to a forced hatred of Yuki

To actually follow the manga storyline and this episode was the first one to show how much the 2001 anime left out

This looks like a different artist did the body and they photoshopped Tohru's face unto it poorly

Attached: 1554688988075.jpg (325x300, 30K)

Ah right. Didn't expect them to hint at that this early.

20 year anniversary project.

Also, this english dub dude said this new series is going to have 63 episodes, how the fuck can he have this kind of information? not even japanese sources confirmed that yet.
getjumped.buzzsprout.com/184661/1203227-eric-vale-interview-anime-central-2019

This detail is hinted very early in the manga as well.

Was it Mayu who said that? if I remember correctly only Ayame and Hatori knew about that.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Fruits Basket (2019) - 10 [720p].mkv_snapshot_14.08_[2019.06.08_00.21.54].jpg (1280x720, 139K)

Never watched the 2001 anime, what did they leave out?

I just rechecked. Holy shit, it actually is. I didn't mind that detail until now.

Roughly 70% of the rest of the manga

I mean for this episode.

>70%
more like 80%+

>spoiler
I don't remember the end of the manga that well, but how exactly did that play out? Was she crossing the street and Kyo didn't tell her a truck was coming her way or something?

2019 and I'm here thinking Micchan is actually kind of cute.

Weirdest timeline ever, I might say.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Fruits Basket (2019) - 10 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.54_[2019.06.08_00.35.03].jpg (1280x720, 90K)

I thought her hair was orange for some reason.

He's right though, how is anyone supposed to buy into this couple if a dream is all they have?

>because of the curse
No.
Literally NO zodiac but him developed the creepy love obsession on a BABY. Which still continues AFTER the curse breaks.

I don't care about your hateboner for the couple, Shigure is actually an interesting character for me. His attachment to the juunishi dream just pinpoints how actually empty he always felt as a person. If he got to fuck Akito and they're actually pretty fine and dandy nowadays it's alright. I definitely wouldn't mind if they didn't end up together but Akito had to get her redemption prize too and she wanted the knot since forever

So what made him obsess over her so much if it wasn't because of the curse? He's just some pathetic incel waifus the first fetus he comes across cause he knows he doesn't have a chance in hell unless he waifu-raises a girl?

>Using shipping to solve a character's problem
>Instead of actual, meaningful character development.

No. and shipperfags like you are the literal reason anime is even dying in the first place.

LITERALLY NO ONE BUT HIM GOT ROMANTIC FEELINGS, he fell in love with the idea of this. His friends also have the same dream and weren't affected. He literally was obsessed with Akito and had NOTHING to do with the curse.

Then he manipulated people to get a mentally and emotionally fucked up woman so she would depend only on him instead of getting some professional help with her issues, because that would mean probably making Akito mentally healthy and have a social life. And he won.

>LITERALLY NO ONE BUT HIM GOT ROMANTIC FEELINGS, he fell in love with the idea of this. His friends also have the same dream and weren't affected. He literally was obsessed with Akito and had NOTHING to do with the curse.

Exactly, which is why I'm asking what made him so fucked up to develop this kinda mindset in the first place?

Akito nowadays is pretty fine and has a social life, not to mention fulfills her duties as a matriarch. Tumblr headcanons were shut down by the author.

Source: Furuba Another.

General emptiness, numbness and disinterest in almost everything, then when he felt something different he got obsessed. Needed therapy since the beginning too but sadly no Sohma gets mental treatment.

I think she got distracted by seeing him after such long time and got trucke'd, before dying she said something like "I'll never forgive you if you don't protect Tohru from now on" but Kyo is retarded and though she was blaming him for the accident To be fair I never liked this plotline anyway, at least Kyoko got isekai'd with Katsuya now, living in blissful happiness.

>General emptiness, numbness and disinterest in almost everything, then when he felt something different he got obsessed.

So in short: identity issues? He's just a walking existential crisis using a girl to fill the void, so he's basically a Shojo Shinji?

>Shoujo Shinji
Silly user, Shinji is already a Shoujo MC.

Yeah, like he used Mayuko and Tohru as well. Tohru did help him indirectly though, Mayu was just a fluke.

So, did she mean to say that in a "I give you my blessing plz marry my daughter", and not a "I hate you with all my being"? The former seems way more in line with her personality.

How would Shigure be deconstructed if the reboot were directed by either Anno or Ikuhara?

Well, she recalls the promise they made years ago so the former is definitely the real meaning

Is there going to be any yaoi shit in this? I really hope not

denpa girl is the best

Less jerk version of Touga, basically.

I wish I had friends like Hana-chan and Uo-chan ;_;

No he would be an Akio.

No. The mangaka is redpilled and based and hates fags and trannies.

>Who here is ready for Dog to be an asshole?
Why he wasn't a total asshole in the old anime? it was because manga was still running or something?

No because the director was a pedo perv and used Dog as his self-insert character, therefore turning him into a pedo too.

So uh, what would happen to Shigure if he ever lost Akito?

>No because the director was a pedo perv and used Dog as his self-insert character, therefore turning him into a pedo too.

Attached: 1546705241605.png (426x283, 105K)

He's still a pedo here too though.

Attached: loli and teen.png (283x617, 139K)

Did you not watch the episode user? He's only about 4 years older than her.

With Tohru involved with the Sohmas:
He'd move on, he thought about that once Akito was free from her shackles anyway.

Without Tohru:
He'd stay as an empty husk and since Tohru was the one who made contrast with Shigure's character. Without her he cannot pinpoint his own issues so he'll definitively live as a jellyfish on the ocean.

Shigure does not fuck everything that moves though

Attached: IMG_20190608_023040.jpg (1280x720, 76K)

>Who is Ren

Wait how was Tohru contrasted with Shigure?

So despite appearances did Shigure ultimately need Akito more than she needed him?

Yes.

they didn't "left out", you retard. the manga was on-going while the anime was on-air. you can't leave out something that doesn't exist.

No, Takaya had the entire manga planned out from the start she talks about this in one of her fanbooks. She let the previous anime team in on all the details, the problem was Daichi was such an autist he felt the plot was "too serious" so he decided to do it his way instead.

How do you think we even got the whole "Akito is dying" plotline anyways? Daichi stole that from Akira's character and put his plot onto his daughter instead.

Granted this isn't even the first shojo adaptation Daichi has fucked over. He also ruined Kodocha and Kamisama Kiss.

>Shota

Where are the lolis though?

Shigure is actually the deepest, most complex character in the series.

Reducing his character and motivation down to just "shipping bait" or "wanting to get Akito" is doing him a major disservice. His immediate attachment to the dream and thus subsequently Akito is meant to signal to the audience just how lost and empty he really feels in life. He had massive identity issues and didn't have a strong sense of self outside of the curse like all the other Juunishi did which is why he was the only one able to latch onto Akito the way he did.

It's only when Kureno's curse breaks and Akito sleeps with him that he realises that as much as he's not bothered by it like everyone else, he's just been using the curse and his bond to Akito as a crutch the whole time which is incredibly unhealthy.

Seeing Kureno free and Akito being able bond with him without the curse makes Shigure begin to question everything and he starts thinking that he still wants a bond and a relationship with Akito, but on his own terms. He wants to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder to her and be seen as an equal rather than as a servant playing out their role.

He wants to try to get to know and genuinely love the real Akito hiding underneath that God persona, this is why he gifts her that kimono at the end and says "It's nice to meet the new you."

Loving the God was nice and easy for him, but he's no longer content with the status quo which is why he shakes things up the way he does and pushes Akito out of her comfort zone, in truth it's also pushing himself out of his comfort zone. He's trying to forge a relationship with Akito independant to their forced bond to see if the real "truth" and "meaning" to life can be found and cultivated outside a predetermined fate.

Shigure Sohma is the only character to go through such an extensive existensial crisis and stare it square in the face, vowing to overcome it through any means possible.

Shigure Sohma is awesome.

Attached: Shigure 1.jpg (728x1176, 106K)

Foreshadowing Kyo's need to hate Yuki and Shigure being a fuck face and the dream of Akito

Kyo saw the car coming and instead of grabbing her and pulling her out of the way he didn't do anything because he was afraid he'd transform. An act of selfishness that sent his need of Yuki as an outlet for his own self hatred into overdrive. Kyo is a really well written character with a real fucked up mindset but I did feel this part of the story was a bit of unnecessary suffering

Reminder to you retard that there's only a two year gap between Kagura and Ritsu meaning Akito has to fall somewhere in between that. Making her around 19 or 20 so at the very least it's a 5 year gap

REMINDER THAT YUKI LOSES

Reminder that Yuki got what he wanted to satisfy his mommy needs and then went to an equally as autistic as him girl

you do know that the one thing people all agree on about the 2019 anime is its inferiour directing compared to the 2001 anime.
that ungrateful fruba writer who goes around blocking people on twitter should thank that director for making the gag scenes funnier but when it comes to those serious arcs like Hatori's, it delivered.

>There's only a two year age gap between Kagura and Ritsu

This was never stated, show me proofs.

Also user I ask you again, did you not watch this week's episode? Babby Shigure doesn't look any older than 4 there.

Reminder that this is the worst ship.

Just once

>Who is Mayu?
>Who are high school girls?

He never fucked Mayu, user. And the HS girls thing is a gag.

He flat out explains to you this very episode:
She's pure, genuine, caring and affectionate, while Shigure definitely likes Tohru he also is kinda envious of her (and Hatori).

One of the most genuine interactions they have is just after Rin's released from the cat monster prison. Shigure tells Rin that the curse might break afterall, maybe in weeks, months or years and Tohru heard that and showed the most genuine despair possible saying "It needs to be right before the graduation otherwise Kyo will...", Shigure got legit surprised and understood on spot what she meant with that, later he told her how the Juunishi felt about the destiny of the cat in general, and how dirty the Sohmas can be. He even calms her down a little bit after his truth tea lel. The thing is: after Shigure noticed the weight of Tohru's feelings for Kyo. Since book 16+ Shigure has been thinking more about Akito's well-being (aka how much the Sohma house & curse fucked her up royally) instead of acting like a manchild cuck who can't stop being butthutt yet wants to isolate her from others so he can have Akito all for himself. That ended because Shigure empathized a bit with Tohru's desire to break the curse to set someone free.

Will Snake truly save this season?

This isn't a very good edit, user...

Is there a colored official art of Machi? She looks a lot like Tohru except for her eyes.

It's not mine, don't bully

Man Kagura is fucking annoying.

Lol how cute of you, that you can't trick Kindle to give you US content. I'm reading the Mabudachi Chapter here from South America

I don't have a kindle, baka

Download the kindle app from the app store.

Have you ever seen a four year old? Also the proof is the final volume of the collector's edition where it states that Kagura was in her first year of uni while Ritsu was in his third at their first appearances

That's too much work, but will do

Yeah it's just the eyes.

It won't be delayed next week, right?

Too bad she doesn't feel the same way and turns him down towards the end of the series when he tells her that he's in love with her.

What the fuck? This is a total 180 from Shigure? Is his happy-go-lucky demeanor all a facade? This is some whiplash after only knowing the 2001 show

Don't be so mean, Kyo.

Yeah, the 2001 anime really watered down his personality by cutting out these scenes and foreshadowing so that he was a harmless perv at worst. We're finally seeing his true colors now.

Bait and switch

Kisa is so cute. I wonder who will voice her and Hiro.

He likes to play with people's reactions, but he's still kind of goofy most of the time anyway.

This episode made me even more excited for the new anime to cover material that never made it into the original. Hope we don't have to wait too long between cours.

Yuki acting naturally as a prince>>Yuki pretending to be a prince

Also Machi is super cute

I'm definitely being retarded but I don't remember seeing this in the anime?

Don't worry user, it's a preview for next week's episode.

Preview for next episode I think

oh shit. Gotcha. Thanks.

Post the pages fuckass

MY HAT

Attached: MY HAT.png (1920x1080, 1.72M)

With the pace they are going, 63 eps is quite believable. Was certain they would pull a Brotherhood and rush the beginning and skip several minor stuff, but they are being quite faithful to the material source.

Why are there no previews at the end of the episode? I only get the title

I'm an anime only and I've been already spoilered anyway, but what the fuck, they looked so cute and the story was developing their relationship so magnificently.

The official twitter posts preview images, sometimes for episodes that are weeks away, and Funimation posts gifs of upcoming episodes too (which I think is what that is from).

I would've been okay with a Kyo ending or a Yuki ending and I think the story could've been written to make either of them great, but the reasoning for the Kyo ending held up true. Kyo engages Tohru directly and treated her as herself, Yuki projected an image onto her and failed to see through her.
He's really a more important character than Kyo though despite losing and I don't think anyone should be disappointed by his arc. I think it was really well handled how he ended up finding his own group of friends and living his own life completely disconnected from Tohru and the Sohma's, the arc probably would've had to be cut and altered entirely to make him end up with Tohru even if it could've been good that way too.

Yeah, Yuki really seems poised to win at this point at least, especially with recent events like Tohru calling him by his name, them being paired up together on the double date, and that gif. Even the ED features him more. Interesting how things turned out.

This is basically a jab at manchildren who want wives to be replacement mommies and not actual woman with their own individuality

It was a stupid plot element but it's just projection. A major theme in the series is that most problems come from characters refusing to see reality and projecting their expectations on it.

Kagura is the kind of character that was better off left in the late 90s

2001 anime was running with the manga so it didn't portray Shigure's other side as well as it could have

Anybody who's mad at how the story ended is 100% a butthurt shipper who doesn't care about plot

I wasn't excited to see her again but at least she was more toned down this time around.

Was she? It's about the same for me

She was at least a little less violent to Kyo besides the flick to his forehead.

fb changed my life

Attached: 895958t4823cu8uhu823h8238h2d.png (736x844, 458K)

Kyo doesn't actually hate Yuki he hates himself because of everything bad that happened to and because of him. His entire "rivalry" with Yuki exists because he created a villain that he can blame all the terrible things that happened in his life on. Which is why when Akito told him if he beat Yuki he could join the Zodiac his hate was justified in some way. When in reality he actually just looked up to Yuki

It's a pretty interesting take on a rivalry actually

Yuki is borderline a second protagonist along with Tohru. He was never meant to be the love interest

Man I love Hatori and while the old anime was barebones compared to the manga, Inoue Kazuhiko is an amazing seiyuu and was great as Hatori. I like Okitsu's voice as well (he has a nice range) but his casting was a bad pick.
The recast so far has been legit amazing but 2019 Hatori voice's not working for me.

It's specially jarring because I listen to Inoue's everyday in gbf and wish he kept his role in FB
