The manga was great,and the anime had some great cinematograpfy and really nice cuts and overall atmosphere.Pretty unique and aunderrated,they dont make them like this anymore.

It has been on my backlog for eons but it seems like the kind of thing that I need to be in a really specific mood to enjoy.

The master of whatever style that the 2 main characters used , seemed like crazy asshole. But in the presence of someone who is in greater power of him. He seemed really tame sane and polite. That guy annoyed the fuck outta me. Little bitch.

That was a common theme throughout the entire story, everyone was at the mercy of someone else, even the top dog what executed at the very end because of his crimes.

I dont disagree but my point is that he is trying to "fake his craziness" if you will to appear more known to public when he is ot insane at all or something but that annoyed the fuck outta of me for some reason.

The last Irako Gennosuke fight was fucking awesome. Especially the fact that both used high level techniques that no one understood.

Yeah but I wish they would have showed the entire tournament. What a unsatisfying end.

The subtle point of the manga is that everything in feudal Japan was a big sham, from the samurai and their code of honour to the folklore. Remember that evil spirit that supposedly took over that samurai and forced him to rape and kill that pregnant woman? that was feudal's Japan way to cope with the fact that a samurai just raped and killed a woman. In the same way, Fujiki and Irako use the same folk tale to commit another dishonourable act, that is to murder the Funaki brothers without requesting a duel first.
