Episode 107: 鬼を討つ – Oni o Utsu (Striking Down the Ogre) Roboppy uses tricky tactics to drive Blood Shepherd and Ghost Girl into a corner. Ghost Girl is able to summon her new trump card with Blood Shepherd's help, and proceeds to launch a counterattack against Roboppy. Meanwhile, Go manages to find the real Ai. He then begins a Duel against Ai.
Episode 108: 不撓不屈の精神 – Futōfukutsu no Seishin (Indominatble Spirit) Go has recovered in order to protect the children at the orphanage. He uses his Gouki monsters to launch a wave of attacks against Ai. However, he keeps getting knocked down by Ai's powerful monsters. However, his indominatble spirit still burns bright, and he keeps getting back up to challenge Ai. Seeing Go like this, Ai starts talking about his fallen friends.
Episode 109: イグニスを守るもの – Igunisu o Mamoru Mono (The One Who Protects the Ignises)
Probably because all the money they save up by not making Season 2 might have been use to make Season 3 okay?
James Gray
the animation is as low effort as usual. The writers simply cared more for 2 episodes but there's no telling when they'll just backslide to normal again
Xavier Gomez
Why that ugly as kid? Whasn't the protagonist supposed to be the other kid?
alright, how would Yea Forums save VRAINS? I'll start

Wonder how long it will take for these to get translated. Also, is it a teaser? The actual chapter 1 comes out late July as far as I know.
Joseph Lopez
I don't think anything could save VRAINS at this point user. BUT! It can at least make it likeable. But that means deleting whaht we already got >don't use Queen as a jobber THAT early, let her have one mock up duel against some random virus that AI sent so he could study her >have some scene with Go sending a message to PM wherever he is (he still doesn't know), telling him how he regrets his actions and telling him he will do anything to atone for his sins >make Roboppy duel against two Pandoras and defeat them, not take control of them >have BS and Emma duel Soulburner in hopes that they improved (PM was not there) >Aoi should totally have some legit victories against non-shota or other jobbers characters, if anything, let her be tag with PM >if Akira really has to go, let him at least have one victory against one of the copies instead of the real one >let PM have a lose against AI >regardless of choices. avoid killing characters again, I haven't seen a season that likes to kill their own characters a lot, and earlier now. Just like they did with Kotori, Shingo Sawatari, Jack (somehow) and many others, let them stay alive and be part of the "survivors" I could continue but there are so many thing that could be fixed... And this, totally this
>Episode 109: イグニスを守るもの – Igunisu o Mamoru Mono >(The One Who Protects the Ignises) >copying the wrong title retard
Anthony Flores
They still haven't explained what his defect was precisely.
Easton Diaz
defect was when he started messing with jin during the lost incident
Brayden Bailey
Maybe it's the fact that he'd do all this shit because of a complex.
Nathaniel Miller
I just assumed him being the most malicious out of all of them is just a 'it happens' kind of thing because when you're playing god like the Kogamis it's hard to predict exactly what could happen
Jack Adams
he's a dick
Jordan Foster
He cannot connect with humans and he the dumbest of the bunch.
Jason Wood
When we first learned that Yusaku was having doubts about facing against Ai, I was hoping the next duel was going to be Playmaker vs Revolver (Revolver tells PM to duel, if Revolver wins PM has to join the battle, otherwise PM can choose for himself) and that Revolver wins against PM. This ends up >Explaining why PM will fight against AI >Give Yusaku his first (and at this point only) loss in a way that won't be a "game over" >Give Revolver an important win so he can stop being a joke fujo fanservice character. Theres other ways I would've fixed vrains along the way too, namely have Go actually declare a winning blow against PM in their last duel but Go falling unconscious before he can do so, so his "recovery" later on makes sense as he feels as he has finally conquered his ultimate rival.
Logan Cruz
fuck off shitvulvafag, retardvulva doesn't deserve any wins
Ian Wilson
>Give Yusaku his first (and at this point only) loss What part of this phrase do you not understand?
What's with xvulva stuff? Is it just ine guy who has a really unhealthy hateboner for revolver?
Isaiah Robinson
wasn't thep point that he is inherently malicious?
they literally showed you when he started messing with Jin just because he could
Levi Lee
Aoi holding both of Yusaku's hands

Hudson Ross
>not hating uselessvulva
Wyatt Ward
yes, he even spreads elsewhere too. needs meds
Matthew Evans
>Not having Yusaku walk into Go's trap only to reveal Ai isn't with him, so it's only a battle of Go's pride instead of for the fate of Ai >Not having Yusaku reenact Go's original tactics against him and have a fun duel broadcasted over Link VRAINS, weaving between the buildings and showing Go the fans cheering them on >Not having Yusaku use Neo Storm Access and Go deciding not to use Anti-Skill because he wants to have a proper climax and beat Playmaker at full power
Nicholas Edwards
Yusaku finding his resolve was handled fine >given time to think about it >the conversation with Aoi probably inspired him >shows up with a not retarded reason to fight
Matthew Morgan
nah the one who needs meds is you
Cameron Scott
Sadly enough, yes.
Charles Kelly
What's next, saying Revolver's seiyuu is terrible at voice acting and doesn't deserve any future roles and kill himself?
Liam Rogers
and give him an autistic friend who rises up against the tech corporations
shitvulva-poster finally making it to the final episode of vrains, shitposting about revolver one last time before a faint smile crosses his lips as he realizes his mission is finally done, and he can pass on into the afterlife now that it's over

David Ross
neither of them know how.

That's just the artist's avatar. I always like seeing his enthusiasm in the omake pages for the 5D's manga. Way more enjoyable than the actual manga itself.
He want to personally punish the criminals like he is some main protagonist. After all, their dead leader kidnap him and cause the death of his parents.
Camden Sanders
no, more like he wanted to be the one who put them jail
if they turn themselves in then he doesn't get that satisfaction
Jordan Morgan
It's going in that direction. Interesting how it's the least likely protagonists that get the girl Autistlove was a myth
Austin Brown
it is though, playmaker got his justice, soulburner deserves his justice as well, soulburner will get his revenge
Jonathan Campbell
>Autistlove was a myth This is brainhack overlimit irony.
Jeremiah Diaz
A glorified tutorial doesn't really need any story stuff, so it's probably the one thing hikki can write on his own
I'm gonna need a massive wall of text to fix Vrains. But here's a few. Make Bohman and Haru actual characters. Chess Pieces of Sol need to be active villains, and not ditch the concept. Focus on world building of Vrains and make the setting more interesting. Make Go actually likeable and hype, like a wrestler. Give Aoi some real development. Transformations=/= character development
Benjamin Barnes
robo arm is making fun of androids for some reason.

Andrew Morales
xyz don't work with gouki effects retard, ritual, fusion and synchro all do
Isaiah Torres
Go already has a fusion and a synchro.
Nolan Watson
that's for his dinos not his goukis
Easton Gray
Yeah, but everyone in vrains is primarily a link duelist. They can't have more than one of the other major summoning types.
Anthony Stewart
who fucking cares, I'm talking about which mechanic actually synergizes with goukis, ritual (from field), fusion (from field), and synchro all synergizes with gouki's float, Xyz do not
The next time they meet IRL will likely be post Akira's actual final death. That's going to cause a big shift in both of them
Alexander Bailey
Aoi's obsession with Yusaku is creepy. Hopefully next female lead has a larger chest.
Camden Barnes
He's the only character with a hint of personality in this show
Caleb Butler

Next series is about kids so don't expect it. Maybe even younger than Zexal did.
This is the era we live in.
Joshua Murphy
>don't use Queen as a jobber This was a good thing to do, it's kinda like setting up a major antagonist and then having another antagonist immediately defeat her, it really emphasises Ai's strength and makes him a frightening foe. >have some scene with Go sending a message to PM This is Big Gay. Just have a brief scene that shows him rehabilitated and playing with orphans. >have BS and Emma duel Soulburner why >if Akira really has to go, let him at least have one victory again, for what purpose >let PM have a lose against AI This is the only good suggestion you have and it's probably going to happen anyway.
>it really emphasises Ai's strength and makes him a frightening foe Ai's a frightening for because he's Ai. Hacking SOL's shit for the umpteenth time and beating someone who's done fuck all so far doesn't really add to that, especially if he and his vacuum cleaner are gonna be mowing down most of the cast for the next how ever many episodes.
Jordan Gutierrez
Vrains so far has the least kino moments of all series
Is there one of those D&D alignment charts with the ignis yet? If not there really should be one.
Ethan Martinez
She wants his deck.
Jack Howard
i mean, bohman had potential with how his ending was but come on his pacing was ultra weird with how his final version ended up being. also nobody wanted to see 999 duels with genexhidras

>Yuzu is Yuya's mom Is Yoshida some alien operating in a logic we can never truly hope to grasp but for some reason forbids girls from winning card-games?
>Leave this to us Chadmaker. Your friends, who consistently fail and die every arc. Just sit back, fry a weiner, have a beer, and we'll take care of this all on our own
He was the most envious and mentally deficient Ignis out of all of them and took his anger out on everyone else. He's basically the Envy of Yugioh.
Thomas Lee
Can you really blame her? The fucker beat her in a children's card game, saved her and her brother from a Coma multiple times and even saved the world. This is probably the most believable romance in YGO so far
Jordan Smith
>This was a good thing to do, it's kinda like setting up a major antagonist and then having another antagonist immediately defeat her, it really emphasises Ai's strength and makes him a frightening foe. This wasn't a good thing to do. She was never a major antagonist, she was a secondary antagonist. And seriously? Emphasis AI's strenght? I'm sorry but that doesn't say me that much. Maybe if they used Soulburner instead of Queen would have been more belieable. SB have more plot armor for himself to return than Queen so nothing could have been lost except Soulburner's pride (and maybe set a plot point for him) >This is Big Gay. Just have a brief scene that shows him rehabilitated and playing with orphans. Since when having two males talking and being in terms is Big Gay? And a brief scene like that would not do enough. He did a lot of damage. Go giving a message to PM saying how he regrets his actions and ask for forgiveness is more better since he is indeed, acknowledging his mistakes and wanting to atone for it. A scene of playing with orphans would just be him remembering his good days and thinking on return like that. While nice, is not enough >why They want to start working as a team and Soulburner (or Revolver) are strong enough to test their duels. Also because PM barely can lose >again, for what purpose I do wonder what is your deal that you really hate development... Because Akira should also have some good treatment, you can't just make him die that quickly, let at least make him shine and not job this early >This is the only good suggestion you have and it's probably going to happen anyway. An AI copy, not the original one. Seriously I feel you don't know nothing... Not wanted to sound rude but I needed to say it Yes, this is literally what I feel...
>I do wonder what is your deal that you really hate development... I don't hate development, I just think your ideas are shite, avatarfag. Haha, not being rude though.
Connor Cook
Well. Whathever. If that's what you think then fine, I honestly don't care about what you think. I feel those things would improve the season just a little better and I'm fine with it.
>Is Yoshida some alien operating in a logic we can never truly hope to grasp That's only you. Other people can understand Japanese culture and media.
Jonathan Kelly
>you really hate development Throwing wins at BS/GG and Akira is not developing them.
Henry Brown
>That's only you. Other people can eat shit from Japanese culture and media. fify
Isaac Price
You're eating the same shit, stupid.
Blake Fisher
I hate that you're right but I still laughed. If he really just sat back and chilled the world would've ended twice over. MC powers means dude can't ever catch a break.
You're partially right but there's a reason why Kaiba, Hell Kaiser, Edo, and Nasch had well-written character development compared to the characters that constantly gets their shit stomped all the time. Then again there was only one character with a win streak after GX that actually developed.
Lucas Hall
Akira definitely doesn't need wins or even duels for his character development. He's done a good job acting on both sides of the aisle as an important older figure to both Aoi and Yusaku. What they're doing right now by having everything he's done slowly come to an end as he now has to rely on those same people to protect him may well be the best and saddest ending for an imoutoman
Mason Scott
>Kaiba >well-written character development
Mason Thomas
He isn't the Jonouchi of Vrains for nothing.
Kevin Garcia
>Kaiba That supreme jobber lost every single important duel he's in aside for Ishizu.
Tyler Thomas
>Doubting the chaddest of AIs with Chad VA Sakurai It was clearly obvious from the beginning
Brandon Anderson
How can anyone be the jonouchi of anything when they're not allowed to be regular people?
Luke Parker
His character was pretty complex if you didn't watch that stupid ass 4kids dub.
Justin Reyes
Aren't they both brawlers with a bitch they need to take are of?
William Walker
>vrainlets are uneducated about dm and based kaiba
Most of Jonouchi's growth hinged on the fact that he was learning to play card games and had already established friendship with the main character in previous adventures. I don't know how you can do any of that in a world where everyone already knows how to play card games and every relevant friendship has to be established mid series.
>Akira definitely doesn't need wins or even duels for his character development Akira is the same guy he's always been so he never developed but his involvement in the story is indeed entertaining to watch. Chronos is basically the same character with a couple of wins but he still had alot of character development of his own so it really depends on the competence of the writers.
The writing for the characters plummeted as hard as the sales for OP did once the second half of 5ds started, came back up for air during Zexal ll, and then went right back to utter shit when Arc V started up until now.
>as he now has to rely on those same people to protect him may well be the best and saddest ending for an imoutoman Shun should've died instead of Yuto and Ruri. It would've been a much better end for him.
Juan Baker
I totally remember Jonouchi entering the show at the start of the season, hanging around the cast like a bad rash, and getting a bunch of duels to sell his deck.
>Akira is the same guy he's always been so he never developed I wouldn't say he never developed. He used to fret over Aoi and wanted to stop her from dueling. Now he knows that she can hold her own and they even fight side by side in the tag duel later.
It's nothing groundbreaking but I appreciate the progress nonetheless.
Grayson Davis
>Most of Jonouchi's growth hinged on the fact that he was learning to play card games If Jonouchi didn't even know how to play a fucking children's card game until a certain point, I highly doubt anyone else would have considered that growth.
>every relevant friendship has to be established mid series This happened in every single series except DM though.
Josiah Clark
>The writing for the characters plummeted as hard as the sales for OP did once the second half of 5ds started What's OP?
John Brown
Arcfags are just like shitty directors in Yugioh. They just won't leave me the fuck alone.
Carter Wilson
Because they were allowed to do shit on their own instead of just following the rails? Winning doesn't do shit for the character if the game only happened because Roget/Lightning said so and has no personal meaning.
Chase Roberts
One piece of shit of course.
Jordan Wilson
>If Jonouchi didn't even know how to play a fucking children's card game until a certain point, I highly doubt anyone else would have considered that growth. No it's a reoccurring thing with becoming a "true duelist" being one of his goals. >This happened in every single series except DM though. Yeah, which makes it sort of hard to replicate him.
Alexander Johnson
That's minimal development at best. Now actually good development for Akira would be his calm, cool, and collected character slowly getting more and more agitated and frustrated after Aoi's first death and then blowing the fuck up after her second death.
Seeing a pure character like him become a corrupted and frigid individual is one of the best tropes there is.
Zachary Jackson
>Seeing a pure character like him become a corrupted and frigid individual is one of the best tropes there is. Yeah nah. This is dependant on your taste and there's nothing wrong if you like the trope but I'll have to disagree.
>Because they were allowed to do shit on their own Worked so well for Arc V, didn't it? And yes the winning does do something for the character if that's what their development revolves around like for Yugi, Kaiba, Hell Kaiser, and Go.
Not only that but it's fucking obvious that a character with alot of wins will usually have a great character because the writers obviously gave a fuck about them. I can't even think of a character with no wins that's a good character in this series besides Akira.
>Worked so well for Arc V, didn't it? One of Arc-V's biggest problems is that the agency characters showed in Standard went out the window. >Let's go to the completely unrelated Synchro Dimension because Reiji said so, instead of helping Xyz or attacking Fusion >Let's do hotel rooms, because reasons >Hey, random teleportation has worked so well for Yuzu, let's have everyone go through it to get to Xyz!
Wyatt Wright
I bet Yusaku is too dull to even think anything of this.
That was such a strange music choice for vrains, like it's jumping at you saying "this is something completely different from what you or the characters are used to. Embrace the beauty of it"
>a character with alot of wins will usually have a great character Because Crow, Post-Dark Signer/Arc-V Jack, Arc-V Kaito, Yusaku, and Takeru are such compelling characters, right? Win records don't make for a great character. Just compare pic related's record (2-0-4) to Bohman's (2-1-3) and tell me who got the better characterization.
It gave me romantic vibes too which is absolutely strange for vrains since that's something that was never touched on outside of maybe Takeru's flashback
>inb4 Yusaku has to duel all four of them At least they're more efficient than Revolver and Bohman.
Owen Parker
Was that episode really about an argument over smiles and food? That shitfest is still hilarious to this day.
Bentley Price
>That blank stare >Just oddly holding hands and not shaking, It really is very awkward.
Michael Davis
what gets me is when she stares at her hand
Henry Roberts
>filename Don't you mean Pandfour?
Aiden Kelly
That's four panda bears, not four pandoras.
William Peterson
>The writing for the characters plummeted as hard as the sales for OP did once the second half of 5ds started, came back up for air during Zexal ll, and then went right back to utter shit when Arc V started up until now. Wait what? I don't think that's true considering some anons here love ZEXAL I and the Tron family, and love the things they did with Aporia and co. >Shun should've died instead of Yuto and Ruri. It would've been a much better end for him. I personally would have him alive along with the others It could have been more though... Well... to be honest you kind of started it that. Nobody was referencing Arc-V until you brought that (along with 5Ds second half and the first part of ZEXAL) He is a good boy! >Worked so well for Arc V, didn't it? Technically it did. But that's just a matter of perspective. I agree on that one, and even with teleporting Yuzu they could just make Yuya jump to her and be teleported with her, and instead of Fusion, ends in Xyz.
I already listed a couple of characters with big ass win streaks that had great development while only ONE character with no wins is well liked. I also already said that the writing went to shit during the second half of 5ds and after Zexal ll finished so it doesn't matter what comparisons you bring up.
I guess it's not really fair anyway since I'm comparing GX, the very peak of Yugioh to whatever the fuck the 90% of the sequels was.
Levi Torres
>GX, the very peak of Yugioh GX had rather severe fuck ups in a lot of places too.
>I also already said that the writing went to shit during the second half of 5ds and after Zexal ll finished so it doesn't matter what comparisons you bring up
Useless jobbers are always forgotten just like more than half the cast in Arc V.
David Roberts
And more than a half of the cast from VRAINS too.
Brody Wood
Amon's subplot was offensively and infuriatingly pointless. He could have been removed entirely, and the only thing that would really change is that Edo wouldn't end up jobbing to Exodia shilling.
Asher Gray
You just posted one of best parts about GX though. Think about it. When was the last time Yugioh had an entirely new set of characters introduced that were all well-written besides GX?
This is going to sound stupid but I'd add more filler and one-off episodes to build up the cast. Vrains needs to utilize the characters better, everybody is starved for character development and interactions, just look at how much praise and hype last episode had despite the interactions between Aoi and Yusaku not being anything special from a writing perspective. It's so easy yet so underutilized.
David Reed
>Amon's subplot was offensively and infuriatingly pointless You can say the exact same thing about all the other side villains that jobbed to the main villain and then they job to the MC but Amon's subplot was at least well-thought out compared to the others.
James Davis
Too bad they're all gonna be in virtual comas until the end of this season.
Did GX and 5D's have the "Driven into a corner' quote for their episode summaries back when they were airing?
Xavier Smith
Then how the fuck are they well-written if they're introduced just to instantly job?
Mason Hughes
They didn't job, they just lost.
Christopher Clark
They served their purpose.
Grayson Parker
Why do you want Yusei to suffer? Aki would rape him until she has milked him dry.
Cameron Ross
We have different ideas of suffering
Sebastian Fisher
Job, lost, flop. Same shit.
5ds truly is the king of padding time.
Bentley Harris
>Specter: Coma >Takeru: Still a retard >Emma: Coma >Akira: Actually fucking dead >Go: Coma >Aoi: "Wrapped Around Yusaku's dick" protection >Yusaku: Main Character Immunity >Ryoken: Handed main villain an army >Kusanagi: Tech Room immunity >Kengo: Coma
Tyler Brooks
More like wrapped around Yusaku's dick without protection
Sebastian Walker
Finally got caught up with VRAINS again. You wouldn't happen to have any art of hot human Ai, would you? Asking for no reason in particular.
No, because this isn't just in the context of so-and-so's win record. Side villains typically intersect with the rest of the cast or narrative in such a way to justify their presence and characters, even if perhaps only in the short term. Amon? You can hardly even call him a detour. Amon is almost entirely isolated within his own closed circle of plot threads, and even that's full of wasteful meandering and connections that aren't actually meaningful.
The shady shit with the Garam family? Cobra has him pinned to a wall and then dies in entirely unrelated circumstances. Echo is subdued immediately without issue before anything can happen to the Rainbow Dragon tablet. Wiping the submarine data doesn't matter because neither Amon's actions or his affiliations are ever relevant to his peers in the context of said affiliations. Let alone finding out, there's hardly any reason for anyone to care. Working with Yubel? Completely irrelevant. The next time Amon even appears, he's off doing his own thing, and Yubel couldn't care either. As far as how Amon impacts the protagonists, his justification for being called an antagonist might as well boil down to that time he suddenly arrived to shaft Edo. The next time anyone is reminded that he exists, it's after he's dead.
>"Wrapped Around Yusaku's dick" She's far flung from Yusaku though.
Blake Collins
>That was such a strange music choice for vrains, like it's jumping at you saying "this is something completely different from what you or the characters are used to. Embrace the beauty of it"
I mean Arc-V has incredible music too like when Yuzu styles on Masumi or when Shun carpet-bombs Sora. If only music alone were a guarantee of good writing.
>2 duels across 3 episodes rather than 4. >One of those is a tag duel. >3 of the 12 eliminated before June ends. Yeah, this is the part of the series when you know you have less than a year left.
They don't have to explain the defect. Lightning's anomalies can be attributed to the fact that humanity cannot completely control the results of their experiments. Humans thought the Ignis would do A, but have some expectation of them going for B, C, or D instead. Lightning did T. Nobody thought he would end up like this. Not all outcomes can be predicted.
Neuron Link made him smarter and he absorbed part of Bohman's data after the backup.
Lucas Campbell
Is Ai the busiest/most linedrawned looking character in the franchise?
Juan Fisher
I don't think it was as inherent as him being malicious at birth, but his base, Jin, was already kind of cowardly and he just happened to appoint himself the leader of the group during their early development. That unfortunate combination of events mixed with the Ai/Aqua thing made him develop a massive ego and inferiority complex which grew even more paranoia-inducing and self-fulfilling when he ran some simulations.
Colton Cox
I like Crow
Hudson Foster
I like Revolver
Nathan Rivera
I like Dennis
Adrian King
I love Japan, period.
Justin Gutierrez
Not really compared to past characters like Sergey or Barians in barian form
The thing is that Amon's subplot was to flesh out Yubel's, Edo's, and his own character. But with everything you said what did Bakura, Aporia, and Vector do? Bakura and Aporia only jobbed and Vector jobbed, beat two jobbers, fleshed out Nasch's character, and then jobbed some more.
But out of those four villains, only Amon and Vector came out as memorable and good characters because effort was actually put in the writing for them.
>The thing is that Amon's subplot was to flesh out Yubel's, Edo's, and his own character Amon doesn't do a damn thing for Yubel and Edo. The only character that Amon progresses is himself, because he's so far removed from anything else in GX's narrative, and even then his character has the audacity to go about with pointless fluff that never actually delivers or goes anywhere. >Bakura, Aporia, and Vector See, unlike Amon, these characters aren't walking non-sequiturs. Their winrates aren't the thing being called into question.
Carter Carter
You won't
Julian White
A bit late but Yusaku should have been the villain for part 2.
Make him still massively asshurt over SOL and wanting to destroy them for fucking over his life no matter if people in the sidelines get hurt in the process. This lets him grow as a character rather than just "oh I guess I dont care about my revenge anymore"
He also kinda works better as a villain than a MC honestly
Angel Gutierrez
Did they just kill a year's worth of low effort shitposting?
Have you seen "my heart has always been alone" after the most recent episode? It's all dead. The autistlove vs anti-autistlove battle is over The former is winning hard now
Gotta give the doujin artists time before we get happy autistic vanilla
Robert Reyes
...I recognize that style. It's somebody who also make Digimon doujins. He... she, does a lot of them and Yu-Gi-Oh! His contents vary but he tend to do doujins with more than two people, be it FFM or gangbangs. With that being said... WHY GANGBANGS?!
>not wanting to see aoi getting DP'd There is literally a fucking GoxYuzaku doujin before an aoixyuzaku Oh no no no
Jack Anderson
>wanting to see more dicks than pussies Not sure if gay, fujo or shit taste
Anthony Stewart
>Echo was doing everything she could to save Amon even though what they both were doing was wrong >Edo was also trying to save Saiou who was in the same boat but without any sacrifices I don't know how you didn't see that obvious parallel they were playing there. Edo got even more development by shielding the others from Exodia.
Nathan Butler
Yo, that's gay.
Caleb Price
>because he's so far removed from anything else in GX's narrative Who knew giving one of the main characters an actual character arc was a bad thing? I bet you loved how pointless Bakura was all the way until the end.
>Their winrates aren't the thing being called into question How do you think shit gets done in this series? Or in any shonen for that matter.
Miyu is way cuter than Aoi. Why can't she be our MG?
Carter Thomas
>Who knew giving one of the main characters an actual character arc was a bad thing? Please. Plenty of functional character arcs exist in Yugioh, GX or otherwise. Amon's is bad because it's not organically or properly integrated. His plot is an awkward tumor desperately hanging off the rest of the work while trying to convince the audience that it's in any way meaningful.
What's more, calling Amon anything resembling a main character is laughable. Main characters are people who actually matter in the context of the story or its cast. Amon isn't, as has been reiterated to death by now. >How do you think shit gets done in this series? Are you being deliberately obtuse, or are you just legitimately incapable of examining a plot outside of win/losses?
Shit, fine. Since you brought up Vector earlier, why don't take a look at him outside the context of duels? Let's see here, just off the top of my head, Vector is responsible for kickstarting the entire feud with Faker, unsealing Don Thousand, bringing Black Mist back into the fray, maiming and brainwashing Gilag and Alito, ensuring that Shark even exists in the story to begin with, etc, etc. All of these things have lasting, tangible results and consequences that matter in the context of the overall plot. As a character, you can pretty plainly see Vector's influence on ZEXAL. Remove him, and a whole bunch of load-bearing plot pillars immediately cease to exist.
Amon? Amon's influence on GX's plot that couldn't be trivially written around is next to nil, owing to his lack of any significant interactions or plot threads that aren't entirely hollow. Edo would be there to come along for the ride with Sho and Chronos, for all the good it would do.
Charles Rivera
Her hair color is too similar to Yuzu's.
Ayden Howard
Because she isn't a character, she's an afterthought that exists to get Aqua and Aoi together in the laziest way possible.

What premise change?
Benjamin Peterson
>Amon isn't, as has been reiterated to death by now If it wasn't for Yubel, Amon would've become the strongest character in GX while creating his very own peaceful utopia. Sounds like he accomplished alot more than most of the Yugioh villains combined.
>Vector is responsible for kickstarting the entire feud with Faker Who?
>unsealing Don Thousand Anyone could've done that
>bringing Black Mist back into the fray Fucking who?
>maiming and brainwashing Gilag and Alito Just stop it
>ensuring that Shark even exists in the story to begin with I already said this
>or are you just legitimately incapable of examining a plot outside of win/losses? You're too retarded even for this thread. In a series where an entire planet would be held captive for an eternity for losing a children's card game, you think wins and losses don't matter? Does it hurt having to be brain dead all the time?
>Edo would be there to come along for the ride with Sho and Chronos, for all the good it would do You do know that with Edo's help, Judai could've actually beaten Yubel and he never would've fused with Yubel to help him defeat Darkness, right?
Brody Barnes
The initial premise/tagline for the show was "take a step forward and try" Looking at S1, it's obvious it was changed during production. You can make a case that they're getting back to it now though
Matthew Cook
more like Yu-Gi-Oh! Virgins
Jaxson Williams
The show has shown repeatedly that they do not give a shit about these characters. They probably just decided on the Attribute theme for the Ignis and Origins, thought up maybe half of them, then filled in the rest afterwards.
Adam Cooper
Half the cast will be dead in 5 episodes though.
Sebastian Nguyen
test
Mason Sanchez
>Sounds like he accomplished alot more than most of the Yugioh villains combined. Didn't he just build into yubel mostly?
Isaiah Gonzalez
>Amon would've become We're not giving points for "potentially could have been a relevant character". What Amon actually DOES in the story is pointless fluff. >he accomplished Nothing important. >Who? >Fucking who? I'm not even going to bother indulging the rest of your thoughts on ZEXAL if you're not even capable of recalling its antagonists, or its big players in general. >you think wins and losses don't matter? Characters exist, and can and have influenced the plots of their respective stories outside of dueling. I don't know how you managed to extrapolate that into "dueling doesn't matter", but feel free to put words in my mouth if it makes you feel better.
Aaron Lee
This is the thing I hate the most from this season. It's Dagomon (Adventure02) all over again, and other shit
Jacob Sanchez
>He's accomplished because of what he would've done Wow, then Zorc, Darkness, Godwin, Black Mist, and Don Thousand must've been really successful villains.
Joshua Cruz
I don't recall them establishing them all as skilled or dedicated duelists.
Nathan Sullivan
>lostincidentfags eternally seething ahahahahha
Christian Brown
It's a problem with creating themes around a set (classical elements, the Seven Deadly Sins, Zodiac, colors, whatever) in general. The writers have some ideas for some of them, but the rest exist just to complete the theme.
Adrian Hall
>If it wasn't for Yubel, Amon would've become the strongest character in GX while creating his very own peaceful utopia. So what you're saying is Yubel is an actual competent villain while Amon needs fanfiction to stand as a meaningful villain? I agree.
Who the fuck spread Zexal 2 is great meme You can't honestly tell me it's a show to completely watch and doesnt need those guides
Jason Rivera
5dfags coping
Easton Murphy
The premise was about Yusaku and it seems the season will at least deal with his thoughts more and with a wider range than REVENGE.wav
Cooper Green
Yusaku's Clear Mind when?
Jeremiah Rivera
Yusaku still needs his snowflake summoning method now that I think about it. Judai had contact fusion Yusei had clear mind/accel synchro Yuma had chaos xyz change/rank up magic Yuya had pendulum extra deck monsters What does Yusaku have? I thought SB was going to become his bruno and teach him reincarnation link summoning, but I guess not.
Nolan Stewart
Presumably people who watched it and didn't like it.
I'm not gonna pretend I liked all the "filler" episodes but I wouldn't recommend anyone to skip them because most of it sets up the story and characters and you feel more invested when shit goes down. It's all part of the charm (and even the filler had great animation). Vrains could use some slice of life episodes, then maybe people would give more shits about the characters
Are you saying kaiba and mokuba plug into the wall?
Anthony Reed
"Can" doesn't mean "does".
Blake Foster
Well I'm more of the opinion they just can't.
Kayden Morales
>Kaiba being his over-the-top self in mundane business settings >Mokuba getting into Duel Monsters in secret because nobody plays Capsule Monsters >KC employees nervously demoing new technology to Kaiba >Kaiba and Mokuba visiting Kaibaland and doing awkward brotherly stuff
Juan Lee
That's a lame excuse
Leo Nelson
he does more than revulva
Logan Gomez
>Kaiba being his over-the-top self in mundane business settings How can anything be mundane when he's a psychopath? >Mokuba getting into Duel Monsters in secret because nobody plays Capsule Monsters Mokuba already knows how to play. >KC employees nervously demoing new technology to Kaiba He makes his own. >Kaiba and Mokuba visiting Kaibaland and doing awkward brotherly stuff He's just too uptight. Face it. If he could be in SoL, DM would have probably have some like the manga before DM.
>What Amon actually DOES in the story is pointless fluff So he's like every other villain but better?
>Nothing important Yeah almost becoming the strongest is somehow not important to you
>if you're not even capable of recalling its antagonists You mean pointless jobbers?
>I don't know how you managed to extrapolate that into "dueling doesn't matter" 95% of the entire franchise is fucking dueling to save the planet every single time. No shit that wins and losses matter the most so why are you so obsessed with the trivial shit?
>Capacitor Stalker >Dongle Acorn >Interrupt Resistor >RAM Clouder >ROM Cloudia >SIMM Tablir >Space Insulator Also pretty much anything that didn't come from Yusaku, i.e.
Chase Edwards
>g golem (rock) >stormrider (airships) >@ignister (some blobs, a warrior, a pegasus and a dragon for now (mythical beasts?)
Brody Lopez
Each of their ignis counter part
They all work as component to the computer rather than just being hard ware. They're basically like this fucker or -tans
It's more like Data in general which is why it can be basically anything you can imagine. It's also why it's hard to tell the difference between it and other types.
That and VRAINS ending soon, so they are shitting out as much cyberse as possible before they stop using that type. It might be more dead than Psychic.
Gabriel Wood
so aqua is an idol, flame is a beast, windy is a skyship and lightning is a roman now?
Brayden Moore
i can't believe how revolver went from the only character people gave a damn about to be biggst fucking idiot and jobber in the cast that matters. Seriously how fucking stupid do you have to be to think you have a chance to fight an Ai with your own free will removed Ai?! That's almost as dumb as as training one of the pieces of a guy who tard raged destroyed the world in the very same game he used back then while enabling his destructive and violent nature!
Owen Rodriguez
It's really silly to have magicians, dragons, and warriors not be magicians, dragons, or warriors because of something like that. For the next series, are they gonna introduce a Flesh Type and make monsters fall into that category because they're made of flesh?
Asher Lewis
>Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark >Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy >Hope >Utopia >Hopeless >Antitopian what did they mean by these
Revolver has been old and busted for a while. Ai and Roboppi are new hotness
Sebastian Clark
i love how that didn't break his character, he simply summoned it. i wonder if he finished it when roboppy complained or he really cut his chant just to summon it
Matthew Hall
Yeah Ai has constantly shown he's beyond meer understanding like that, he fucking found out personally when Yusaku and Ai kicked his ass back in season 1 did he get brain damage? god, to think the fucking toaster would not only have always been a guy but that it's gonna kill off two more useless jobbers on it's own , why even bother having an extended cast if you're gonna put them to sleep every arc?
Julian Wright
>roboppy didn't stop ai >pan to Queen face >she eyeroll while you can hear Ai continuing his chant
Jace Kelly
it was either roboppy or queen who would call out on his long chant
Revolver knows AI can be smarter than him even if he knows the ignis code.
Thomas Rivera
I don't think the writers really think about it more deeply than >hmm kind of bored of these guys, I like x now and that's where all my investment is going into. lmao, fuck those losers
Don't forget to mention that he didn't expect the AI, and in Lightning's case, to be self destructive and willing to kill themselves if it means that it make their enemy lose. He was aware how much of a fuck buddy Ai was to Yusaku and Ai just leaving him is very unpredictable.
Kayden Martin
He already had Revenge mode back in season 1.
Nathan Brown
Did they ever name drop the title YUGIOH in any of the series at all?
>revolver went from the only character people gave a damn about to be biggst fucking idiot and jobber in the cast that matters he's always been the biggest idiot and jobber since s1, no one gave a fuck about shitvulva is s1, he was always a fucking joke
The show would be on the path or redemption if that happened. What might happen: >Akira bites it >dissed off Playmaker vs Ai >Playmaker loses but gets spared because Ai already has what he came there for >double healing arc
Chase Bailey
>losemakerfags STILL delusional can't wait to see your face when you get BTFO
Blake Bell
>Playmaker loses but gets spared because Ai already has what he came there for Why even waste time with the duel?
Grayson Edwards
Amon would've stomped all of them though. The man was about to reshape worlds out of nothing but pure power.
Noah Walker
Not after losing a card game.
Kevin Morgan
I have no clue why you don't like some of the best character development there is.
Nathan Barnes
>Playmaker duels him because if he wins all of this is over >Ai duels Playmaker because he wants to see if he's better than him now Pretty easy motivations to duel ngl
Zachary Perez
yeah.. if bowman can bolt everyone to their demise, why cannt anyone else do the same thing?
Do you honestly think he would accept another duel after beating Yubel?
Camden Myers
>Yusaku >Losing
Noah Adams
Well you could broaden that question to a lot of vrains in general. There's really no explicit supernatural force around this time compelling characters to duel by supernatural law, other than "because Yugioh anime"
Logan Barnes
That'd be a really bold twist having the AI hater fall in love with AI.
Dominic Smith
>AI hater That's Blood Shepherd. Revolver is only against the ignis/free will in AI.
Eli Brooks
>more aoi content >going to be some brutal shit like those old yuzu CGs Absolutely based
>constantly following this stuff Might as well just search for another anime at that point.
Benjamin Ortiz
Sauce? Image search gives no results.
Parker Scott
When will he release it?
Jackson Cook
no, the point is why they need to duel in the virtual world to get that thing, when most things are locked behind some kind of computer code they occasionally show the characters cracking as computer hacking wizards
Cameron Torres
They can't just code to break into anything. They had to use everyone and multiple ignis to restart the tower of hanoi.
Jayden Gutierrez
I mean this would actually be believable given that even as Playmaker's enemy Ai still obviously holds some bonds towards him.
Ai's whole dueling persona is just a more chuuni Playmaker
David Gray
>put everyone in comas >leave one behind That doesn't make sense when every villain has shown no mercy.
Brandon Brown
MC privileges.
Or Playmaker DOES get put into a coma but wills himself out of it because of MC privileges
Robert Foster
No he would probably need to be rescued. He's been trapped and in bad spots before where that's needed before.
Jaxon Hall
Best is subjective, it's not hard to understand. I simply don't like seeing characters go down self destructive paths for the sake of edge.
Jose Hill
I wouldn't say yugioh is dark or gritty but isn't that part of the point for a lot of villain arcs in this franchise?
Owen Gutierrez
I can't wait to see Bohman get some action. He's the sexiest boss we've had in decades.
I guess personally it all depends on how the character started out and how they turn out in the end. If they start out okay then get fucked up but later recover from it, then it's all good to me.
MC's going evil has been one of the reasons I enjoyed Yugioh as much as I have. Its a fetish. Too bad the hottest mc won't get one. It would be fun to see Ai steal Yusaku's body though, or put Yusaku into an android.
There you go putting words in my mouth like it makes any sense. The whole point of that type of development is purely for entertainment and showing how twisted and devastating the villains and the situation are.
You guys always bitch and complain about how static the characters are and how terrible the plot is yet you immediately run and hide when you finally get an example of proper and realistic character development.
Christian Jackson
which one of these are the most BTFO ? Jin fags miyu fags queen fags chess piece fags Firewall fags Revulva fags
Sebastian Long
The Supreme King arc should've been longer in general. Half the main cast should've dueled him first before getting sealed away by Yubel.
>It's funny that Yoshida can make a more competent foil How'd you come up with that?
Jonathan Hall
I didn't watch it yet but how did they fuck his character up this time?
Jonathan Barnes
Vrains sucks. Even Arc-V was better.
Leo Rivera
>Half the main cast should've dueled him first Because that worked so well for Zarc and Bohman.
Gabriel Scott
Fujiwara has better payoff in a shorter amount of time. Amon just kind of stalls out despite scheming for a whole season.
Jason Cook
What are the chances Ai is still messing with Naoki through message boards?
Bowman only beat two characters while Zorc and Zarc was wasting fucking months with their bullshit. There should've been at least two tag duels before O'Brien and Jim Crow got to duel him.
>Amon just kind of stalls out despite scheming for a whole season It's not stalling when a character already accomplished all of his goals until the main villain steps in to take over the plot and Ark Cradle was the arc you should be worrying about where padding time is concerned. Amon was just too well-written for a guy like Fujiwara to surpass him in such a short time.
>It's not stalling I'm not saying it was stalling, him losing to yubel was just his character not really being fulfilled in a satisfying way after all that scheming. His character stalled out and it wasn't worth the time put in.
Levi Stewart
>Bowman only beat two characters while Zorc and Zarc was wasting fucking months with their bullshit Zarc spent four episodes trouncing Edo, Sora, Shun, Kaito, Gon, Jack, Sawatari, Crow, and Leo, the same amount of time Bohman spent against Blue Maiden and Soulburner. Then we got one episode of Zarc beating Reiji and losing to Rei, versus four of Bohman losing to Playmaker.
I don't know, takeru coming home only in an apron seems really out of left field.
Nathaniel Flores
Yeah I love that too. I think its a good way to show weakness in strong characters, and darkness in easy going or kind characters. The character always seems to grow afterwards if done well.
Ethan Price
He's still one of the only characters I really like. The hate from the couple of people who have to say it every thread seems to just be because he's popular.
