Maybe an editorial decision since Diablo is older than Rem and Shera while he was of similar age to the more mature characters or they end up being a few years older than Diablo.

I've only read through the official releases which go to Volume 8 currently. Volume 9 comes out in a week. I have read summaries of the LNs through Volume 12 though, so I know the major parts of them but not the fine details.
Volume 5 is pretty good. All of Diablo's dungeon is great, and I would love to see it animated. Although the ending is a bit anti-climatic compared to 4.
