I don't really know what to think anymore. I loved Naruto for 15 years straight (caught all episodes, manga, bought the games) and followed Boruto a bit too, but things like this feel wrong when they happen in Boruto.

I've lost interest and stopped watching the anime for close to 4 months now, so I usually look forward to the manga being dropped, but at this point it feels like they realized the story isn't going anywhere so their best bet is to make shit up and attract the old Naruto audience because "wtf Juubi is back!!!". I know the 2 month hiatus was because of a holiday in Japan or something, but I wouldn't be surprised if they used that time to have a serious business and marketing meeting that basically ended with:

This isn't necessarily true. The reason that Madara was able to awaken the Rinnegan is because he had transmigrated chakra from Ashura and Indra, yes. However, that's not to say that it's not theoretically possible without Ashura and Indra; it just wasn't feasible because of how far removed the modern Uchiha and Senju were from Hagoromo's bloodline. After all, the fact that Hagoromo's chakra could be produced with Ashura's and Indras is itself indicates that chakra is inherited genetically.

Toneri is the proof. Even though neither he nor Hanabi were transmigrants, he was able to produce Hamura's eye by crossing his chakra with hers. It makes me wonder what the rest of Kara wants out of this deal, unless Jigen is selling them a bogus plan like Pain and Obito did with the rest of Akatsuki and is planning to betray/kill them after he gets what he wants, and Kashin Koji somehow found this out and is now working against him.

According to the spoilers, Jigen absorbs some chakra from the Jyuubi through his Karma, and afterwards begins to physically transform to resemble the Otsutsuki hologram that Sasuke saw earlier in the chapter. Recall that Black Zetsu was also able to cause Madara to physically transform into Kaguya's shape, once he had access to her chakra, and a suitable "vessel." More evidence that perhaps Black Zetsu and Karma are of the same nature?

Madara absorbing the Juubi must have been some kind of equivalence to Karma. Having part of the particular Otsutsuki's power within you. Jigen probably wants to use Kawaki (Or Boruto) the same way Black Zetsu used Madara to bring Kaguya back, except the proper way.

I'm having trouble figuring out how Jigen fits into Kaguya's time on earth because the anime left no indication that Kaguya had somebody with her and the anime mostly treats filler as canon, so either something happened before she landed on earth or Jigen shenanigans happened right around when she gave birth to Hagoromo and Hamura; or maybe the what happened in the anime has been retconned.

Well if we equate Otsutsuki's will(which was Black Zetsu essentially) = Karma. Plus to make a Otsutsuki whole would be Juubi + Vessel + Will. That would make Jigen currently be Will + Vessel with his Juubi part being kept seperate for the time being.

How it appears to go is:

Will = Mind.

Vessel = Body.

Juubi = Chakra/Soul.

These can be split in different ways if an Otsutsuki were to die or get sealed and brought back together to be combined and become whole again.

Pretty sure the Kaguya filler getting retconned is a given at this point. Even if we assume she parted ways with Jigen before coming to Earth, the fact that the hologram (presumably made before the split) has the Rinne Sharingan confirms that she had it prior to eating Earth's chakra fruit.

Well, in the case, that means the Kaguya filler is 100% skippable now.

Actually, now that I think of it, Momoshiki got his final form after eating Kinshiki, which marked him as a killer of an Ootsutsuki, as the pattern clearly resembles Karma.
On the other hand, Jigen clearly has Karma markings of his own, can actually give Karma, and his power was separated from him in Juubi-like form, that he appears to be draining from time to time.
What if the enemy Kaguya was preparing Zetsu army for was not Momoshiki and Kinshiki, but Jigen?

I can't believe Black Zetsu inserted Otsutsuki dynamics into Akatsuki.

I thought it was clear that the Rinnegan/Rinnesharingan (and Hagoromos power) came from the chakra fruit while Hamuras come from Kaguya.
