People are really this stupid. You will meet short sighted people who cant think a few minutes beyond the present time and/or have bad situal awareness. This woman at work stole someones lunch from some richfag supermarket. She took while people were around the fridge. Looking for the culprit, someone said they saw her with it. She denied it. Looking at her desk the wrapper was right there. Her reasoning was someone stole her food yesterday. I dont remember what it was but we were at her desk and the item was on the floor near the wall. It was really *picking the item up* "you mean this?" Deer in the head light lit her face up. Tbh, you couldnt see the item from her chair or walking path to sit down. No one talks to her anymore.
I would go with this but Malty basically had the entire military and kingdom under her thumb, she isn't stupid. He was able to get the entire country rallied against shield hero and on her side even after she gets called out at the duel.
Unless she dropped 50 IQ points this episode its a massive contradiction.
Not to mention Naofumi having like asstons of poison/debuffs resistances at that point.

Here's the difference: that's setting and this is actual plot. Anybody can establish a story where a character has been a competent ruler. But you can't write a character smarter than yourself. Which is why when it comes to actually showing their actions, all the characters who are supposedly intelligent and capable turn into total retards. People will call this realistic because dumb and petty people exist, but this is a story. It's meant to be an escape from how chaotic and meaningless reality can be, a more ordered world where things follow natural lines of logic.
For example, this is because the show writers suddenly had no books from another author to copy. This is why everyone suddenly got dumber.

I've never noticed truly awful writing in this series before. Other than everyone falling for a false accusation this was the biggest plot hole in the series. It honestly feels like everyone except Naofumis party and the Queen remember what just happened in the last episode.

The other weird thing about this episode is that the three other heroes just got blown the fuck out and were all shown that they were used for Bitch's own plans. They were all shown to be stupid short sighted morons who got more people hurt then they saved, spear hero in particular was betrayed and used like a tool and refused to help Bitch when she was gonna be executed.
And now Bitch tries to attempt murder the next fucking day and everyones like "What? She would never do that I don't believe you!" and acting all smugly superior to Naofumi when they know for a fact the reason he isn't their level or knowledgeable of all these other skills is because he was a social outcast and was being hunted down and fucked with the entire time unlike them.
It's like everyone forgot what just happened.
