Tell me, how many other manga series delve in genocide, phagogenesis, evolution, war, classism, human nature on a fundamental level, transgenderism, absolute monarchies, social imperialism, corruption, democracy and the flaws of political government with direct democracy, criminal minds, reincarnation, Loyalty, Love in all its obsessive and unconditional forms, the meaning of life, the concept of a soul, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Hinduism humanity and inhumanity, revenge, abandonment as well as a slew of other topics and concepts as nuanced and well written as Hunter x Hunter while seamlessly weaving in and out of genres, going from mafia wars to MMORPGs to the epic rise and fall of an entire civilization to politics, to succession wars and a new era of exploration and colonialism.
Anyone who is a fan of manga owes it to themselves to read this masterpiece.
I can’t wait until Hiatus is over so I can ask pointless questions and not be ignored.

Feitan speaks broken Japanese, 2011friend. anime subber didn't translate it properly for some reason.
Liam Price
I didn't know, thanks
Joseph Evans
Yeah, it's admirable how it touches upon all that myriad of themes while simultaneously managing to not say anything even remotely thoughtful or interesting about them.
Not only eternal recurrence but HxH also explores the Nietzsche philosphy that if you stare long enough in the abyss, the abyss is going to stare back. And that if you fight monsters, beware not to become a monster yourself.
This is evident with the MC Gon. What makes gon's character is the monstrosity of his stubbornness. We first really get a glimpse at it when he refuses to surrender during the Hunter Exam tournament. But it rears it's head again and again. including sacrificing both arms to defeat Genthru and of course it's all over the place in CA arc. He might not just be a monster strength wise, but overall due to his peculiarly abstract morality and his ruthless single-mindedness
Here, made in ten minutes. And I don't have even considered Steel Ball Run and Jojolion. P.S.: I put just one image for each category instead of 2 just because I'm incapable of editing pics
Fantastic. The Chimera Ant arc is stylistically - as Yoshihiro Togashi's other manga - characterized to a large extent by the witty dialogues and bon mot of the characters. The heterodiegetic narrator thus often remains reserved and inconspicuous in favor of the scenic (self-)representation of figures. An exception to this is the 263rd chapter, in which the narrator portrays the palace's invasion in time-lapse.
Despite its location in the context of contemporary history, the arc contains a number of fantastic elements, which are also characteristic of the horror novels of the 18th and 19th centuries and of Oscar Wild's fairy tales. This and the implied radical modern conception of art, influenced in particular by John Ruskin, Walter Pater and French symbolism, break with Japan's dominant 20th-century realistic literature, even though narrative technique is still largely conventional in terms of time structure and consciousness remains.
>mix of low quality raws and outdated fan translations >some poorly drawn panel of the pillar men somehow depicting "fantasy" >Passione as "crime" when they're an unequivocal force for good >the most generic power up in the series falling under "Art", over any of the actual roman statue references Araki has drawn >some clusterfuck cropped double spread under paneling >BeFunky-collage-min.jpg
As a fellow JoJo fan I give you 2/10 for this poor effort.
Jokes aside, i think both Jojo and HXH are some of the best shonen ever made. My point is, you can make a grid like that for for almost every shonen. Take Naruto, for example, in the end I don't think is one of the best shonen ever made, but anyway we also can make for it a list like that. After all, quality aside, Naruto really has at least one panel for each category
Isaac Bennett
Based Togashi even including LGBT community >Pic very related and cute and canon
Why would I? This was done (better) in devilman almost 40 years ago. In fact, you could resume HxH (particularly the CA arc) exactly that, Devilman did it first.
Lincoln Rogers
No, you can't. HxH, and to a lesser extent JoJo, are the only shounen that shift between genres for each arc. Naruto just follows the same story every arc (bad guy shows up and Naruto and his friends have to beat him up) getting worse and worse. HxH, in the other hand, is always changing and going from a light hearted arc to a heavy one and the general theme is always different (beating a game, taking revenge, extermination of an alien species, political elections, battle royale in a boat, etc.)
Austin Wood
I disagree heavily. HxH has had several completely unique storylines, including the current one (I mean, "Succession War, except that murder is still illegal, so all deaths are to be performed with shadowy assassinations and scheming, and all participants are given Stands that they don't know about" is a concept worthy of its own manga).
JoJo has many setting differences, but the substance and content of each part is largely the same. Introduce a new stand user, the protagonists fight and defeat the stand user, rinse and repeat. The actual story isn't very deep. Also, JJBA monster/villain of the week formula just doesn't age well and so many of the fights can be considered filler. I love it for Araki's style and creative abilities but I'm not delusional enough to compare it to HxH.
>True, but I tried to avoid the color scans > Vampire and Pillar men belong to horror and fantasy > Only team Bucciarati is ''good'' > not the right thread, but GER is one the best contestualized power up ever. it respects what had been introduced in the previous series (the user's will already seen with Dio and Kira), is anticipated several volumes before and its power ideologically contrasts that of the main villain. And above all they need an entire volume just to reach this powerup. And in any case the category refers to the art, not the power-up > I know... > What's important it's not the end result, but how you get there
HunterxHunter and other Togashi manga are the only ones in the medium to have real depth. Devilman, Evangelion, and Akira are just edgy trash for normalfags to consume. Togashi has been proven as the modern Homer who can write multiple masterpieces. He can not only make us connect to his extremely well-written characters, but he can affect us in a way that no other writer can. He has been proven as the master of his craft time and time again. He never ceases to impress us with his philosophical questions. He is what every writer should aspire to be. It's a shame that the industry is full of uneducated melodrama-generating computers like Murata and Araki. Togashi really does stand as the greatest writer of the 21st century. A single sentence of his is worth more than that of your average modern author. I'm extremely successful in multiple fields, so take this as a fact, not an opinion. The truth is, everyone on this board (except those gifted with a high IQ) can't appreciate true genius because they are too busy masturbating to Fujimoto's next insubstantial show, thinking it's somehow deep, while I indulge myself in a self-pleasing act with HxH, without forgetting to simultaneously analyze it. This is why you will never know true depth, my teenage friend. I'm working on a book explaining the meaning behind HxH's writing and symbolism, and you better look forward to it.
And, by the way, HxH doesn't deal with evolution. The chimera ants arc has as much to do with evolution as the Evolution in digimon.
Austin Parker
I'm not talking about color scans, those are garbage. Part 1-3 have had official releases with far higher quality scans and translation for years. Here's a better version of the page you used for social commentary.
Anyway , if you wanted to refute Hunterchads you chose the wrong example, since Araki & JoJo are literally one of Togashi's biggest inspirations and approved by us.
I can’t think of another work where so much diverse character growth is so integral to the narrative itself. Which makes sense, as the arc’s “antagonists” are a species in a continuous state of evolution. Pitou shifts from a character whose only joy is diversion to one who cares deeply about their leader’s growing empathy. Youpi develops an entire personality and value system over the course of his sparring with Knuckle and the other Hunters. Shoot finds self-confidence, a reason to live, and a reason to die. Killua ends up with his role in his most important friendship reversed, and has to become far stronger and more empathetic than he thought possible. One of the great solaces of Chimera Ant is the truth that people change – they can grow, evolve, become more than themselves through circumstance. We cause each other tremendous pain, but our friction makes us better than we were.
>Meruem, the light that illuminates all >No, I can't see a thing >Do not make me repeat myself >Komugi, are you still there Why did I never make the connection before?
Holy shit. I should re-read HxH one of these days.
I don't know man. Boku no Hero academia is quite popular right now. I think it's gonna catch up sooner or later. Maybe it already did
Jordan Morris
Oh duck off. The chimera ant arc is ducking boring and suffers from terrible pacing, cringe-inducing dialogue, and DBZ-tier power level faggotry.
The themes you mention are definitely there. However, you can also say that other shounen like Naruto delve into deep themes like "the power of overcoming destiny" and "breaking the everlasting cycle of human hatred" or some shit. But that doesn't make the plot not bad.
(Part 1) Like Araki said in his own manual, the arcs themselves are the story. I mean, it's easy to say: Stand battle, 1 chapter of transition, another stand battle, 1 chapter of transition, another stand battle, and so on. But it's not so simple, because the arc is not just a ''battle'', but is also adventure, exploration, humor, characterization of the characters... Take, for example, part 3. Some people say that is extremely monotone because is Point A, Point B and repeat. But hear me out(deep breath): Jotaro is imprisoned believing he is possessed by an evil spirit, he will leave prison after fighting a fire chicken. His teacher is possessed by tentacles, on the way to Egypt the plane crashes due to a giant insect, and later a French swordsman fights against an Egyptian fortune teller with sword blows and blazes. Jotaro fights against a sea monster before and against a sentient gorilla then, while Polnareff will face a killer doll. Jotaro will fight a blob that eats anything, the team will face a being that lives in mirrors and Joseph will have to defeat a meat monster grown on his arm. The group will fight an infernal car, a deadly fog and then fight in Joseph's brain. The next enemies will be the sun and a baby that kills you in dreams. Polnareff will ask 3 wishes to the Genie of the lamp and then the group will face a giant head on the bottom of the sea. Jotaro and a dog will fight against water in the desert, a comic predicts the future, a sword possess people, Joseph and Abdul magnetize each other, Polnareff returns a child, Jotaro plays poker and bets his mother's soul, Hol Horse shoots himself in the head, a dog fights against a hawk, the group will play video games while Polnareff and Iggy will fight against the void. Finally, the final battle against an immortal supervampire who can stop time, with knives, road signs and road rollers
Jace Richardson
(Part 2) Have you seen how much variety? So it is dishonest to say '' It's always just stand battles '', because I assure you that even just five stand battles offer much more variety and fun than what your average shonen could offer. In the end, Jojo has the same elements of HXH or One Piece, except that while these works include elements such as plot, characterization and setting on the one hand and battles on the other, Araki condenses everything inside the stand battle
Leo Gray
Naruto's superficial and childish handle of the themes is what your tiny brain can handle. Leave HxH to people who can actually use their brain and keep indulging in kiddy trash like Naruto.
JoJo is Hunterchad approved. No one would deny JoJo its merits and Togashi is a big fan of Araki.
Carson Cruz
Togashi has to take ideas from something that already exists, what a fucking hack.
Ayden Russell
Wait, I've also said that I love both Jojo and HXH. Just that the grid with these categories is kinda stupid because (also stretching every category) it can be made for anything
Levi James

Only God can create something out of nothing. Everyone else takes inspiration from previous works. Oda is inspired by books for children and kiddy shows. Araki is inspired by Italian fashion magazines and HnK. Togashi is inspired by classic lierature and paintings.
>SnKfujo biggest chads are the "warriors", who all got BTFO by some manlet incel MC with nakama power and a literal cuck who wants to sterilize his entire race
HxH deals with mature themes, such as "what if a gay pedophile clown was bathing in a lake, and two 12 year old boys teleported next to him to look at his penis"
James Turner
SnKfags dont start shit with Hunterchads. Last time we showed up in your threads you had to cry to the jannies and then say shit like:"thanks mods for saving us"
My female coworker referenced Kafkas Metamorphosis lately, and I said "based". She looked at me weird, but I just had to say it.
Oliver Mitchell
They can't even come up with OC. This SnKfujo spammed "muh gay pedophile" multiple times, likely because he hasn't read HxH and all he knows are memes he heard. Even that OPfag from 2018 had more constructive posts.
Its probably a fat fujo or a minority. That's 90% of SnK's readership.
Julian Wright
Though Alluka's powers seem destructive, bizarre and convoluted they actually parody political and social 'justice' (You exploit, and rather than pay for what you do, the next person has to take the burden) if used incorrectly.
The other thing about Nanika is it is terrifying. It's this gross effigy masquerading as human features which just appears on Alluka's face when she wants someone to do something for her (Translation: When she's exercising her own agency). It's hideous and that's intentional. Just like the wishing system is overly complex to the point o ridicule; Nanika's appearance is a challenge. It's not Togashi saying 'This is creepy, be creeped out.' it's Togashi asking 'Can you like Alluka despite this?'
Killua is adamant though, and orders Nanika gone forever. He cries over it, obviously, but he's relieved that his sister (And by extension he) no longer has to suffer. Alluka wakes up, and for the first time, Alluka exercises her own will. She's furious. And why shouldn't she be? What Killua is doing to her is essentially the same as what her family did. He's taking the unfortunate part of her, locking it up and ordering it not to come out. Nanika isn't just some wish granting tool, neither is she another person. She's part of Alluka's identity; something that makes her who she is. It has to be Alluka and Nanika together or not at all.
Killua now knows how to do right by his sister. Attempting to lock her differences away is the product of fear. He accepts her and through him his family (Listening in via one of the butlers) decides to accept her as well, as long as she's with Killua. It's a beautiful story.
What I've made clear in my analysis of it through this, it's a beautiful trans story. It's a story about personal identity and acceptance using the trans issue as a vehicle. It really spoke out to me and it's the first time I've eagerly wanted to share my thoughts on the matter like this.
Kafka is an unfunny author who tried to write comedies but they sucked.
Connor Hall
>shit x shit dead thread and series >SnK hype better than ever It's over now where did all the fun go? It's time to give up Hunter bros...
Matthew Ross
We haven't had any content in 7 months. Any other series would have been forgotten, yet HxH gets daily threads and its always mentioned by other fans in their own generals.
Gavin Flores
B..bubbubut there's pictures (traced pictures) of hungry kids! That means its deep! SnK doesn't have that! SnK doesn't trace real life images so it's not deep!
This. Berserk literally got a new chapter last month and no one is talking about it, while HxH still dominates the board with presence in countless threads.
Based trips of truth The hype for HxH is undying because if it dies it comes back stronger, just like Nen Pathetic Berserkbabbies can't even analyze their edgy action series.
David Ramirez
>Berserk >Non cancer series What did he mean by this Yea Forums
Do you think they regret that now that it's selling so insanely well?
Ian Baker
This. The anti-nardo spammer got demoted from mod one day and then the banning stopped.
Joseph Evans
snk is way better huntercucks
Brody Rogers
Based. Berserk is basically dead now and SnK will soon follow it after the manga ends in a couple months, while HxH keeps having daily threads that hit bump limit.
Nicholas Watson
Just Neverland and MHA put together sell more than SnK, so Jump doesn't really give a shit.
During chapter release a lot of meaningful discussion with a little bit of banter and memes. During hiatus a lot of banter and memes with a little bit of meaningful discussion.
Jordan Lewis
Why do Hunterchads keep posting about OP's dropping sales at every opportunity but then use OP's high sales in a different argument?
Cooper Morales
Chimera Ant Arc so rich of themes, narratives within a narratives. So many parallels, themes enveloping each other in perfect synthesis. Manga peakes as an art form when Togashi wrote CA
Sorry I didn't meant to post what boards I like to visit.
Ethan Campbell
When will you get to the meaningful discussion part in this thread?
Adrian Collins
Nothing, because a shitly drawn word throw-up chapter only comes out once a decade. In the meantime the "chads" make their daily generals in hope that their time sunk into this subpar shonen wasn't for nought.
Why doesn't he just write books? His mentor has said he'll probably keep Bastard going as Light Novels.
Sebastian Gutierrez
Based. "Every situation has an opening." That's an adage that only Hunterchads swear by, compared to the hot-headed shounenfags who gets flustered and starts spamming at the slightest hint of losing.
So there's nothing to talk about so you just post the same images and pastas over and over again and circlejerk? You're like the Alita general back on Yea Forums, only they got BTFO by based mods. I look forward to the day when HxH is given the same treatment. Until a new chapter comes out I bid you adieu.
>You're like the Alita general back on Yea Forums, only they got BTFO by based mods. Did they finally purge that shit general?
Levi Sanders
My dearest, fellow Hunterchads, won't you join me? I'd like to propose a toast. For all my Hunterchads on Yea Forums The wonderful threads we inhabit And for all the chapters we will be blessed with in 2019
Faggot why are lying? HxH threads traction died 24 hours after the chapter release for the past two years. Any threads afterwards had to bumped by jobless nigger like (You) for days on end .
Zachary Sanders
Does Togashit knows you faggots are counting down till July?
Aaron Reyes
HxH when chapters are being released are some of the most fun I've had with threads on Yea Forums Seething, cope, and non nenpilled.
>HxH when chapters are being released are some of the most fun I've had with threads on /a That's because your smushed nigger brain finds anything that even resembles console war cancer to be and absolute riot.

You seem assmad that the Hunterchads decide to stop giving you attention during real kino hours Also what the fuck is /a
