OP and HxH are the only soft-seinen left in WSJ

>OP and HxH are the only soft-seinen left in WSJ

What does this say about the mangazine? Is jump moving away from maturity by making the newer series standard shounenshit?

very compelling evidence there retard

>soft-seinen
What? I'm not far enough into HxH to judge but OP is as Shonen as it gets

The Wall Street Journal?!

Weekly Shonen Jump

>soft-seinen
Ah you autists still say words that mean nothing.

Warsaw State Journal

There's a major tone shift in HxH, the current arc doesn't really even feel like shonen anymore

HxH is a shonen in name only, it has transcended the genre a long time ago.

It feels like alot of political intigue bull crap. I read the whole manga and when I got to the dark continent it fucking hurt to read it. It was a novella a fucking book. It's supposed to be a comic togashi visual you can explain certain things like powersystems or worldbuilding but he literally is shoving everything down the readers throat. Nothing can be subtle in Hunter Hunter. Nothing. Togashi can't help himself but explain every detail. It actually really really ruins a otherwise great story.

They are both shit.

well i like it

It's social justice warriors in reverse

It's supposed to be a comic though I like the concept of the dark continent it got me so pumped for this secret place full of awesome stuff and all I got was a 70 page novel about world politics. The only interesting part of the boat ride is the fact that hisoka and the spiders are on the boat. I also really really hate that gon is not on the ship. He is the MC for fucks sake why would all the development and training I spent days reading amount to, whoops lost all my nen looks like I am out of the story. Like dude really? Why even read the first two thirds of the story that don't involve hisoka or the spiders? They are literally the only constant plot relevant group. It's like they are the main cast.

I like the story the world the charachters togashi had all these great things and it's like he doesn't even understand his own story.

Shit, the wall street journal might actually be worth something if it had manga in there.
Financial advice and heart warming stories about kids beating the shit out of each other.

gon and killua are going to come back at some point and we will see the dark continent, all of that has been set up, "don freecss", "the five threats", it's going to happen, but the succession arc comes first.

I know gon and Killa will return the point is that gon was sent back to whale island and is back at square one. There is a difference between deconstructing a genre and fucking over your own story progression

pretty sure he'll come up with a clever way to reintroduce him into the action

I would genuinely hope so. I am genuinely upset that we are stuck on another boat for another manga. At least no other manga has taken the novel rout though.

8/10 post

Leaving aside the retarded "soft seinen" term, One Piece doesn't really have elements as dark as the ones in HxH

>Ctrl + f "genre"
>2 matches
Fucking Christ. There's just no end to these retards that think shonen, seinen, shoujou, and jousei are genres instead of demographics, is there?

HxH is great. Don't know about One Piece. SnK is great too.

>soft-seinen
stop forcing this meme phrase, you don't need a new fake genre to describe good shonen, just call it good shonen

>genre
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKING HELL

your expectations are too high

they are genres named after the demographics they target

Gon's dad is a stand in for the usual "type skip main character redesign". Instead of Gon growing up during a time skip, now Ging will likely play Gon's role.

No they're not.

No, they're just demographics. That's some bizarre shit the west convinced themselves of years ago that somehow stuck.

>Neverland
>Chainsaw Man

>gon and killua are going to come back at some point and we will see the dark continent
Except no, they fucking won't. They have no reason to there and there arcs are over. DC is going to be all about Leorio, he's the only one who hasn't had an arc and the only one with an actual reason to be there

They're battle shounen, user
For kids

you're too low iq

>HxH is great
No, it isnt

You are wrong.

I really like both you know

Not sure why it's so common to compare the 2, they're pretty different

>OP and HxH are the only soft-seinen left in WSJ
Not anymore they're not

neither OP

you mean when it became less comic and more of the book? Because one page nearly nothing but text.

>Terra Formar
Damn, why did it stop all of sudden?
