Nah, most fans left after Tatsuki's incident. Then the neutral fans remained, but also left after S2 shitted on everything. A few fans are coming back after seeing that the IP is being managed by Sega, but their numbers are nothing compared to what they had on the beggining. For example, at this point I'm only interested on the doujin/fanart scene of the KF franchise, but the game doesn't hype me even a bit.

On the other hand, S2 has no fans, only apologists.

-They released Line stickers after popular clamoring.
-They released a video about playing with the KK cards on the anime card game Precious Memories.
-They have already started the recording work of the cast audio commentary track for the third (last) volume
-For whatever reason Tatsuki changed his Twitter handle from Tatsuki/irodori@Kemurikusa to Tatsuki/irodori.
And that was only today news.

-There is the July 20th special event with all the cast, irodori (Tatsuki, Isa, Yuuko), Fukuhara and nano.
-The third (last) Blu-ray Volume will release on July 26th
-The Kemurikusa cards of the anime card game Precious Memories will be released also on July 26th.
-The Summer 2019 Wonder Festival on July 28th may feature the announcement of new figures.
-The Summer Comiket on August 9-12 may feature new merchandise or even important news
-The Kemurikusa only mini doujinshi event Messa Kininaru 3 to be held on September 23th.
-The Rin Nendoroid will release on September.
- The Kemurikusa only mini doujinshi event Messa Kininaru 4 to be held on November 10th.
-Also, the OST is currently unannounced but I suppose it will be released on this Summer.

On the notes of the event they mention all the rules the people must follow and one of them if that light sticks can be used is they are of a certain maker and meet certain conditions and seeing that Nano will be present, then it does seem pretty factible that there will be a live performance of the OP by nano on the dark and with smoke like on the official music video. If Tatsuki will grant the wish of the voice actresses of him singing the OP is something unknown for the moment.

Modeling and voicing is expensive, and the KF franchise is in bad shape after KF2. The investment just isn't worth it anymore. I'd expect a couple dozen of friends ingame at launch, then slow additions.

They're not going with either the KF or KF2 styles, so they're going to have to spend time redoing all the characters in their new style in addition to all the other things necessary for putting them in a game like KF3, including animations for the picture sessions. - 2000 years have either passed at some point between the original app, KF1, or KF2. There's a lot of conflicting reports, but most are saying that it's between KF1 and KF2, as previously touched upon by NumaP.

- Kyururu's true identity is a copy of a human created by the Cerulean Queen after humans went extinct. His purpose is to be the Messenger that connects Friends together.

- Beasts are "failed" Friends, who have a humanoid form but a 100% animal mind. They have between 1/5 to 1/10 of the lifespan of a normal Friend. They can never turn into normal Friends.

- Human-type Friends like Kaban grow with age. Over time, Kaban will grow to resemble Mirai more and more. If she tries to stop growing or attempts suicide, then she will cease to exist.

here. Here's a report from that Char guy on Twitter who always goes to the KF2 events. Format is in bullet point, so some of the context is my own bias.

- 5 designs of Kaban were shown as an example of the 5 stages of Human-type Friend growth. KF1's was Stage 2, Manga cover's was Stage 3, and KF2's was Stage 4.
- Same thing about Human-type Friends ceasing to exist if they reject their own growth.
- The bodies of Human-type Friends are extremely unstable because they're irregular existences. Kaban subconsciously stays in Japari Park because of a certain person's strong will.
- KF2 takes place in Central, 2000 years later. Some other stuff here about the other islands/regions that's probably irrelevant.
- Some art shown of the events of 2000 years ago were shown. After the drawing shown at the end of KF2?
- The base boy human used to make Kyururu was eaten by the Queen
- Serval and Caracal can't beat the queen because they can't use Harmony (need 5 Friends)

The original Kyururu was originally attacked by the Queen during a trip to the park with his family. His soul was copied in the process, and the original boy was saved and lived out the rest of his life in peace, and is long dead by the time KF2 starts. Kyururu is 100% human and not a Cerulean. I looked into this and apparently the Gokoku area (the place Kaban and Serval went to at the end of KF1) was riddled with Ceruleans.

If all this explanation was made prior the show, then the animation studio failed to make the setting clear, either because they didn't have a wide perspective of the storyboard or because they lacked the skill to fully express it.

At least with S1 you had it clear that the park was evacuated for some reason that may have involved a cerulean invasion and some sort of of war against them happened. With the S2 all you had was Wakame (adult Kaban) being there just to not give a single fuck about a new human that suddenly appeared in the park after centuries of believing that humanity went extinct and even him giving up about his goal of finding his home.

Mine was always a pushover as far as executive/staff meddling goes. His talk about how he'd act if the franchise went in the wrong direction was always empty to me.

Even with Keroro he went along with his movie scripts getting rejected and just made a small tie-in chapter with some of the dropped plot points, and that's a series he actually drew and wrote by himself rather than just making basic concept/art like Kemono Friends.

Really, that's why I think Tatsuki only blocked Mine by December after it was obvious there was no turn back. There was no direct conflict with Tatsuki, but he also did nothing to attempt to solve the situation or help him in spite of his claims of protecting the franchise or giving his blessing to his creative freedom. The fact that once again there's a ton of concept stuff that was left in the cutting board and Kyururu's design was completely changed shows that he's still the same pushover and didn't suddenly start enforcing things to have his "vision" on screen.

So the only way to save KF is not only get Tatsuki to come back but also to ban Mine from implementing his batshit insane ideas. Probably neither will ever happen so KF is fucked.

Yes, Mine Yoshizaki is the original creator of the franchise so he has copyright and moral rights over the whole IP of the franchise, so he could have told to KFP on Twitter to go fuck themselves and that he would torch the whole franchise if they dared to put a finger on Tatsuki and Yaoyorozu, that is, if he really cared about the franchise and/or has the manly balls to exercise his power as original creator to protect the franchise he created, but no, he preferred to stay as silently and obediently to KFP as possible and still continues to do so.
Still, I can not shake the feel that there was bad faith from his side, because you have Mine choosing to not disclose his name on the early stages of the game so the game could prosper by its own merits and not thanks to his name, them when the thing goes massively popular and the first Parco exhibition opens he gets a new credit telling he is the absolute boss and now you have that the name of Mine was nowhere to be seen on the website or booklet of the Kemono Friends World exhibition, at least before the opening, so it seems he can change of heart like the flip of a coin, so he could have been on good terms with Tatsuki at the beginning, but then he got sour when Tatsuki got all the credit for saving and making the franchise popular m, meanwhile Mine, the original creator, was left with the leftovers of that paise, so he then followed the lead of KFP without making a fuss.

There have been cases, for example, Gainax did sold their half of the rights over FLCL to Production IG so they could make the new seasons, also Gainax lost completely the rights over Evangelion since a date not later than November 2014, so now the only owners of Evangelion are Khara and Hideaki Anno and at last, Gaina, former Fukushima Gainax, is now supposedly working on Tribuster and Aoki Uru.
The problem then is that those transfer of rights only happens when one of the parties is royally fucked and they can not continue working, meanwhile the other party is just alright and can continue and is willing to continue working on the franchise, but here we are talking about huge multimedia companies like Kadokawa and TV Tokyo so it does not sound to easy the rights from them, besides the point of them trying to save face and his pride.

This is kind of a misunderstanding though. The whole "not advertising his name" bit only happened before the Nexon game's release. Afterwards when the launch initially failed they started pushing his name alongside the Keroro crossover to get some Keroro fans on board. If you check the original trailer for the anime, his name is front and center already and that was when no one expected it to be a success.

That said, yeah, he is avoiding association with Kemono Friends now in spite of still doing work for the franchise seemingly as usual, although it's not really something only happening after KF2 crashed either. He had often been doing Kemono Friends cameos or references in the Keroro manga, and yet stopped with it all after the end of 2017.

Mine doesn't own the franchise though. "Creator rights" in his case just means that he can stop a franchise from being used in a way that would hurt his personal image.

I've never seen that enforced over a franchise where the creator didn't actually own it anymore though, it'd likely need to be something very specific.
