Why hasn't Japan adopted the premium webcomic format?

they aren't soulless bugs yet

Did he suck his face in to avoid any damage?

dude white space

>the premium webcomic format?
not so good format tho. they use a lot of blank space to trick the reader. It makes the chapter look longer than normal manga.

There are other webcomics that use traditional formats.

You still get to pay by chapter though.

needing to scroll every 0.5 seconds doesn’t allow time for one to get immersed into a story. For digital manga, you can click/arrowkey/ tap to the next page and often remain there for a few seconds to digest everything on the page before moving on. With webcomics, there is less information per each scroll/arrow/click

webtoons is a garbage format

webcomic white space looks like shit.

It's a trash format though. Manga and western comic formats are way better even for digital comics, mainly because they have to tell the story through drawings AND good paneling.

reading 210 chapters of a webcomic will get you RSI in your hands from all that scrolling down

They didn't compress their brain due to cranial plastic surgery yet like their neighbours
Fuck off gook

then there's no need to use webcomic format in the first place.

the format of the future, the japs just hate the koreans for adopting it before them.

It's awful: the white space is unbearable, the panelling is shit, and the fact that it switches to a medium with an extreme easiness of access will cause a degradation of the artstyle and of the quality of the content making them even more wish fullfilment oriented

Pretty sure that's the punch meme
The white space allows your panels to not be covered by speech bubles as much as the classic format.

I think those empty places were left out so bugman can fit ads on it

The long format is fucking awful. Lots of empty spaces, so lots of scrolling.
>It's designed for mobile, though
It's still shit.

>then there's no need to use webcomic format in the first place.
You reach a wider audience when it's on the net than when it's in paper. I reckon it's also cheaper.

But gook tend to put it to an extreme tho.

Can't deny that.

I'm talking about the paneling and the use of white space but not about publishing the work online.

They already have to an extent (see: Koi Inu (a total shitshow by the way), ReLife).

low quality garbage optimized for phoneshitters of all people

Because they don't see the point in having space for a hundred ads and they understand that manga is supposed to be flipped through, not scrolled in a phone after being made by someone who doesn't know what paneling means.
Dumb coreans being disgusting as always.

with thrillers from the late 90s and early 2000s being the sole exception, why is everything korea does so soulless?

also didn't a Korean movie recently win Cannes festival?

phoneshitting is the future, old man

>didn't a Korean movie recently win Cannes festival?

whats next, youre gonna use the oscars to try prove something is good?

>literally designed for phones
>"premium webcomic format"

is two blocks down, kid
