It seems that he created a Patreon.

He's also on Pixiv Fanbox, which seems to have more content (or at least for non-payers). I'd love to support him but I refuse to use these sorts of subscription services, I guess I'll just keep a close watch and pick up the doujins as they get released.

What does he even do these days?
He mentions doujinshi on the patreon page but gives no titles.
He'll be getting my 10 bucks regardless.
Photographing pigeons, raising two Ryushikas, getting low budget anime adaptations, dreaming of Despera
His wife's instagram is @yukaly if you're interested
I will admit that I bought the art book for this show
I wondered if anyone here saw this as well when he set it up. I'm supporting him on pixiv fanbox since he seems to put more stuff up there.
Working on despera probably.
So did I, I rarely buyfag but I think ABe's worth it. Did you pick up his newer Lightness and Darkness anniversary books? There's some lovely stuff there including a beautiful double page spread of my pic at the end of Darkness.
>Working on despera probably
Is it finally out of limbo?
Praise the gods, all 8 millions of them.
>Is it finally out of limbo?
Yes. It's the thing that keeps me going actually.
Will it live up to the hype?
I pray that the threads don't get infested with shitposters.
>Will it live up to the hype?
Probably not. But at least the wait will be over.
>Will it live up to the hype?
I don't know but I'll try to enjoy it as much as possible either way. I'm optimistic though since both of them know how much this anime means to some people and they're pretty passionate about what they're doing.
>I pray that the threads don't get infested with shitposters.
I actually made a board on Infinitychan for this case. I don't want some random faggots that know nothing about the anime to shit up the threads like they do with most new shows. Name is /aoaba/, maybe it'll be useful one day.
Remember the last time somebody tried to adapt ABe's designs? Prepare yourself for a shitshow and be pleasantly surprised no matter what.
You can't really compare Despera to GEEKTOYS.
Fuck that fucking studio.
Where can I read ABe's manga?
>g-gib me money
Fuck you ABitch
Will Ryoshka ever be completely translated?
Hopefully though I hear it's quite easy to read so it might be worth using as a learning resource if no one picks it up.
Why don't popular mangakas (like those from WSJ) or LN authors create Patreons?
On mangadex it seems to be translated up to the tenth volume. Are there more than that?
Dex only has the first chapter of volume 10. Translations stopped there for some reason, I don't think there's an 11th volume.
>Will it live up to the hype?
Not a chance.
>I pray that the threads don't get infested with shitposters.
Also not a chance.
I'm still really looking forward to it though.
how is he going to feed his 14th child user?
if konaka can deliver like he has most of the time then sure. Also if the anime studio they get can properly adapt yoshitoshi abe's designs unlike that disaster ReRideD, god that show was ugly
Which studio would do his designs justice?
It's for being a patron of the arts you like directly, instead of going through a big media company. It provides a lightweight middleman.
I want to read the Niea_7 manga but it isn't fully translated.
I was going to start reading this soon too but that sucks if it also isn't fully translated.
how does patreon make money? If I give 10 bucks to abe do they take a buck off for themselves? How much do I have to add to ensure he gets the full ten?
ABe is a big name in the west, everyone who watches anime has heard of Lain and Haibane. How is it possible that noone wanted him for the making of a tv-series or a film in the last 15 years?
A lot of them probably don't even know about it. Others just don't like foreigners and don't want their money. It's also kind of hard to figure out any enticing rewards for things like that. There may be some pride issue too.
They take between 3% and 6% depending on various factors
support.patreon.com
For Abe they would take 3.9% + 30 cents. So if you want him to get 10 in his paypal you would need to donate like $10.80
The studio doesn't matter. They need staff and producers they can trust with their baby. Who knows if anyone in the industry cares enough though after RErideD seeing as ABe is now going to Patreon for support. Yasuyuki Ueda is still around so there is hope.
If they got Ueda on board that would be incredible. What's he been up to anyway?
