Do you remember the horror of RMVB? A lot of Anime used to be in that format in the early/mid 2000s.

god i hate proprietary formats so fucking much
Real Media Player-related stuff in general was terrible much before that
Thankfully, no. Codec faggotry was still a thing around 2004 when I first started downloading subs but at least it was Real Player shit
>waiting hours for hentai.mov to download
Please let me forget.
I never want to see that logo again, thank you
I do remember! Not fun times. Shitty quality tiny res rips of already shitty quality fansub VHS or the occasional official VHS sub were abound.
I had shit internet back in 2004 so it was the only way for me to watch anime.
Chinks are still partially using that. Sasuga subhumans
Chinese are also using e2dk links.
Emule and a Chinese client called Thunderbird seems to be the main ones used for that old protocol.
I'm actually grateful to them, because they made me learn how to find better players thanks to Real Player being so fucking bad.
Still have Love Hina in rmvb sitting on cd's in a draw somewhere.
>Container formats
mkv>ogm>mp4>>>>avi>mpg>>>>>mov>rm
I watched the entirety of Ranma 1/2 in .rmvb format - two files per episode. It was horrible.
Shit son I had all 39 episodes of Utena on two 650MB CDs and watched it that way. Shit was cash. Probably still have them lying somewhere though they must have succumbed to bit rot by now.
If you thought rmvb was bad you must have been heard of vivo.
I also watched Ranma on that format except they were english dubbed with english subtitles
I think I remember watching the first Hellsing adaptation entirely on thaton 25mb files per episode to boot, I really don't remmeber how this was possible
>please install quikplay
I hated those fucking niggers so much
Remember? Boy, I still have my Zero no Tsukaima RMVB files.
I had a similar thing, a 15mb episode of YGO that had bizarrely decent video quality. It's always stuck out in my mind after all this time.
buffering...
It wasn't that bad
Still had DB/Z until recently when I erased them.
Catering to the blind and the deaf in one video. Progressive.
Dont remind me
Yeah, I watched Yu Yu Hakusho dubbed in Portuguese on it.
I went to download Zambot 3 recently and there's actually copies of it on Nyaa in RMVB format. Didn't get those but I thought it was funny.
RealPlayer bullshit was the worst god damn cancer.
I remember downloading a bunch of Bleach episodes as RMVB files in 2005. They were like 50 MB a pop. Took a while to download. I then plugged a cable going from the S-Video output on my computer to the SCART input on my TV and watched it on the family CRT.
almost, except avi > mp4
do you guys remember transferring anime opening mp3s through infrared? i memba
Never used it
>A lot of Anime used to be in that format in the early/mid 2000s.
I was watching anime in real formats back in '98. Shit was actually pretty good if you just wanted to get some shit over dialup.
