Nothing only than animation being fairly low budget. Well, I'd prefer it to have more balance of happiness, but I don't think it's current state of usual suffering makes it worse.

Seinen doesn't mean anything about quality of writing. Just the demographic its meant to target. A better complement would be to say that even if Dororo is a shounen it is competently written and tackles actually interesting things in a good way. Namely the usual question of the society vs the individual and weight of a persons intentions in judging a persons actions.

I like it. I don't care if the animation is "shit". It's an interesting adaptation that does a different take on the source material while keeping the overall theme intact. It's good unless you're an anime snob, which is probably the single saddest thing to be.

I just don't see how bad animation ruins a show. It's a storytelling medium. The story is the most important thing. The only episode that I would consider to maybe be filler is the spider episode and even that had some character development for Hyakkimaru since it was the first time he let a monster live when he realized that it wasn't a threat. Theres nothing wrong with it per say. With the animation it looks like they're at least trying and not being lazy cheap fuckers. Aside from a couple of episodes im really enjoying it so far. I dont know why but i've been feeling this Inuyasha vibe from the show. I dont know how to explain it exactly other than how it's structured.

Well, they both hunt demons in order to recover a McGuffin. Body parts in Dororo and gem fragments in Inuyasha. Not sure if Inuyasha was inspired by Dororo in some way, but it's not entirely unlikely. Still, the only episode that definitely felt like an Inuyasha episode was 19. The change in tone was so weird.

The animation is pretty consistently bad. The direction is also pretty consistently bad. What sucks is this has all the story and good characters to be a good show, but good ol MAPPA makes it hard to watch, and the pacing of the show is the unfortunate inconsistency.

Yeah that was pretty much the go to solution in the past.

The word "Quarantine" even comes from the Italian word for 40, because during the plague crews of tradeships were detained for 40 days. The idea was that if they carried the plague with them, they'd die in containment and their bodies could be disposed of. If they survived, it was safe to trade with them.
