Ainz is incredibly pathetic. His 'friends' didn't give a shit about him or the guild, otherwise they would have turned up for his little party when the game was shutting down. However he was so utterly obsessed with them that he decided to go on a rampage on another world, killing thousands in the process, in pursuit of the incredibly low chance that (1) some of his friends had also ended up in that world, (2) they would hear about all the shit he was doing and (3) they'd decide to come and find him.

Death Note had the villain protagonist dying like a bitch in the end, which was pretty satisfying. I found Death Note much more interesting that Overlord though because Light wasn't as OP as Ainz is.

Hard to say. The guild was founded as a safe haven for monstrous races, but at the same time they very obviously played the villains to some degree. Touch-Me probably would be fine with it all until he realized that the NPCs had full consciousness and Ainz was basically just killing humans at this point instead of programming.

I've tricked myself into watching all three seasons and I really hate myself for that. Not only the anime is low-quality, but the whole plot is just an endless loop of Ainz fucking up while accidently ending up looking as if he's competent. And it's not even done in some particularly interesting way, it's just that everyone around him are stupid or enamored with him for reason or another. There's no sense of danger, compettition or any kind of serious inner or outer conflict. Ainz issue never make him fail, his enemies are never a real threat and his conflicts with his subordinates always resolve in a neat and convenient way. I would have forgive it all if at the very least the show was a sociopathic dark comedy edgy gore fest, where terrible people do terrible shit to nice people and no one can stop them... But even in that department Overlord is pretty damn timid.

Overlord is a dark comedy. Its tragedy for everyone outside of anime. Shounnenfags can't understand anything that isn't Ainz having to fight a bunch of different enemies in a formula they've seen 10,000 times and whiteknighting waifufags keep going "muh edge" because all the ecchi and FotM anime has made their brains soft.

The anime isn't a good adaptation because it can't adapt inner monologue and that's where a lot of the fun comes from. Volume 7 in season 3 was the turning point because the majority of Yea Forums is too stupid to pick up on a series literally named Overlord about a magical skeleton tard wrangling his walking holocaust children might not always be so nice and can't understand that edge != taking itself seriously.

Not really. It's been mentioned that they mainly eat other stuff and only sometimes eat humans when they don't have food and if the human is weak. Demihumans and even some heteromorphs weren't very aggressive to humans until countries like the Slane Theocracy started genociding them.
At the worst many demihuman countries just humans as slaves which is better than genociding humans which would be pretty easy to do considering the fact that every other country aside from 3 or 4 are all 100% demihuman. Demihumans and heteromorphs make up the majority of the world population yet they don't all go genocide the humans. Why doesn't Ainz try experimenting with the karma system? If he could figure out how to manipulate it he could change some of the neutral/neutral-evil NPCs to be at least neutral-good which would help when it comes to people who can sense karma like PDL. Many who can sense karma are wary of those who have negative karma.
