Most pistols in the IRL pirate era were flintlocks, i.e. single shot pistols, as such it wasn't uncommon to have multiple if you need to shoot more than one shot during an altercation.

look up watch order, pretty sure it's the 59 min film then the 1.5h film then the series. if you try just the series you will be bored out of your mind, the films help ease you into it because they have better animation and touch on important plot points more rapidly
