I'm not the most fervent of fans when it comes to the shonen drama. I'm one of those individuals who proclaim Fairy Tail and Bleach to be utter garbage and Naruto to be the definition of mediocrity. I find most shonen bland, uninspired, and incredibly predictable, utilizing the same old tropes and mindless action scenes. There were some exceptions, however; Dragon Ball was the anime to truly initiate this structure of storytelling, attributing it with originality. One Piece perfected this structure and by doing so set itself above all of its contemporaries. Full Metal Alchemist offered some philosophical depth to shonen, which made the story much more compelling. Then I came across Hunter x Hunter (2011), an anime that initially appeared to have mastered the concept of shonen, much like One Piece. Yet before my finger could click on the "8/10" rating, Hunter x Hunter blossomed into an anime that transcends shonen. A deconstruction of shonen that will stand the test of time, imbued with complexity and intelligence and featuring one of the darkest tone shifts I've ever seen. Hunter x Hunter is a masterpiece.

Because Hunter x Hunter isn't as popular as One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, despite being more old than Naruto and Bleach HxH is nobody in the West

I did a 4-year BA in philosophy. Never went in Hunter threads on Yea Forums because I didn't want to spoil myself on the series. A friend of mine convinced me to read it and during the Chimera arc I kept telling him how much it reminded me of Hegel's theory of consciousness. Lo and behold I come to discuss HxH on Yea Forums and there's a running consensus about Hegel being relevant to the themes. It was curious because someone other than me must have picked up on what I was seeing in it. I'm not saying the show is "on par with" Hegel's writing, just that it's strongly reminiscent of it and inspired by it and Kierkegaard, among others. Not to mention the themes of nuclear weaponry, phagogenesis, evolution, war, classism, human nature on a fundamental level, unconditional love, and more. But yeah there's a lot of philosophical nuance in the story, which is why HxH is considered one of the deepest works the medium has seen.

Nice pasta faggot

I mean what else do they have going in their lives? They wasted so many hours of their lives obsessing over an average shounen series that's never going to be completed, and the more years go by the more it becomes irrelevant and is forgotten in favor of better shows.
It's sad really.

seeking justification for spending hours of reading text walls that lead to nowhere

This mumble virgins btfo.

Kids feel the need of validation of being seen as an adult.

It's trolling and ironic shitposting that has fermented for years since the most recent arc started and now people forgot that things like hunterchad, or waxing on about Togashi's paneling weren't supposed to be spammed around. Plus janitors didn't stop generals from occurring so the cancer magnified as multiple circle jerks started. Then meme pages came out every release cycle adding even more fuel to the fire.

Basically this is what happens when people forget Poe's law and there's nothing that can be done to stop it .

come back when? it june already man

because it is a masterpiece

Things Togashi likes:
>Gay sport manga
>Homosexual characters
>Trannies

Because it's become a common topic of shitposting here.
why are they fighting in a white void

Reminds me of Beatrice in Umineko trying to prove that magic exists. And we all know the truth of the matter.

It doesn't.

Pretty sure most of the people who do that don't actually read HxH, they're just shitposters

They don't.

It's just shitposting that ocontinues to get attention because most kids on this site feel the need to talk down to someone in a unison to feel better about their lives

Togashi has the big gay confirmed

HxH is the GoT of anime

so garbage minus the mainstream appeal?

I love the pseudo-intellectual language hunterchads use, truly fascinating.

Bleach > FMA > One Piece > shit > Naruto = HxH

They don't, it's just idiots false flagging.

>ITT: shit eating pissfags absolutely anally devastated over the intellectual beatings provided to them over the years by non other than the hunterchads

It's just trolls trolling trolls trolling trolls.

>gay sports manga
Are you implying there's another kind? Cause every sports manga I've seen is pretty damn gay, whether male or female protagonists.
