This new wave of Jump Starts is looking like some true axebait.
Tokyo Shinobi Squad - Chapter 1
I'd say this guy is Red Pilled because of the EVIL FOREIGNERS RUINING JAPAN but the token shota character he saves here is Thai.
Also the other reason I know this is cancelled is because the MC is a Pepsi drinker. What the fuck.
But I like cyberpunk
Sia refrence
Can't tell if the Japs will love this because it hates foreigners, or hate this because the main girl ain't a virgin and the deuteragonist is foreign himself.
The fact that the setting is just BladeRunner may help it because it saves time on world-building and everyone likes cyberpunk.
Action isn't bad and the powers are unique but I could see the main ninja guy get generic quick if the author isn't careful.
Axed. Everything from 2019 is terrible.
This is too complicated. When you do an action manga keep it simple. Dumb rookies don't understand.
I have literally lived in Japan and I still kinda get confused with some specific media portrayals of other asians.
I cannot tell if the reason that a favorite portrayal of Thai characters is in the form of "Delicious brown Shota-bait" is because of some stereotype of Thai as prostitutes or if Nips just have a subtle shota complex for little brown boys in general.
The author might be stealing from Made In Abyss. I've haven't read it but isn't half of its cast brown Shota-bait? Could be borrowing the idea from a successful manga.
In what way is this complicated
This, why did this mothefucker choose this shitty shounen magazine thats know for its dreadfull axe. Why did he make the story shounen if he is going for more complex pseudointelectual bs and why didnt he choose a sinen magazine.
Either way this will get the axe quickly and i will be surprized if it does not.
Why are the first chapters always such cluster fuck
Gotta take it slow at first
>do i fit in yet guise???
He said big words and thats a no no for shounen Kids.
This is the hook chapter - catches your attention with flashy illustrations and half-mentioned plot points. The next few chaps will probably slow down and do some character creation if the author knows what they are doing.
Which one from 2019 is good to you? I found all of them to be shit. I did like the 3 survivors from 2018. Get some taste faggot.
This looks okay. Aside from the peculiar political shit in the premise, the rest is fine.
The fights and powers look cool, and the main cast seems serviceable so far. I'd say this has a better chance of survivng for a while compared to other series that just started, but you never know.
>retards seething over an accurate representation of globalism
This first chapter is a mess.
Then why are you even here you fucking joyless fuck? do you enjoy entering threads just to make others as miserable as you?
And that's the end of Chapter 1.
That's what I said, its a mess that's supposed to catch your attention for the next chapter in a week. The author probably should have started off with the Thai kid in the slums, but that could have failed to catch interest in the same way cyberpunk ninjas does.
>Why are you in a discussion on a discussion board!?
This isn't leddit you cancer.
Yea Forumsermin confirmed
Looks barebones as fuck
Retard confirmed. Imagine being this mad over a soon to be axed garbage sci-fi mess of a manga.
Hope this story is kept short. Really don't need another +200 chapter slog.
Looks basic as fuck
>Implying this will make it past 20 chapters
Don't worry, it will be around 19 chapters.
everyone should tell elon musk to not build his hyperloops for fear of somehow exporting crime to Tokyo
It's a Japanese manga in Jump so of course if it's a contemporary setting it has to be in Japan, but Japan being the nexus of crime in a world where you can take thee subway to another country in a matter of single-digit hours is retarded
if you linked Japan, the Asian Continent, and the US by hyperloop and crime magically exported itself anywhere it would probably end up being South Korea because it's on the landmass the majority of the population of Earth lives on.
Taking it slow isn't really an option when your series can be cancelled in four months. You only get one shot at grabbing the audience's attention, thereƬs no time to waste.
Mind you, I'm not saying that rushing things is good, but in the context of serialised weekly manga, it's pretty much necessary.
We need new U19 edits.
You ain't discussing shit, just regurgitating some bullshit without any context or personal opinion to get (You)'s for validation. Retards like you are nothing but crossboarders trash that pollute this board. Either give an argument for why you believe a series will get axed of kindly fuck off.
Art seems nice, and it's cool to see a cyberpunk setting again instead of "contemporary human society, but with superpowers/demons/etc". Getting vague Akira energy. Main character seems okay, powers are cool too.
My big thing is that it seems like it's introducing too much and throwing too much at the audience - I notice this is a trap some series tend to fall into because they don't have enough faith in their actual concepts and writing, so they just throw as much of it as possible with the hope that it'll stick.
But even then, as said, this can also just be used to create questions from the audience and if they know what they're doing, then the author will chill next chapter.
Not many series show their potential within the first chapter, however - for example, some of us may know that World Trigger's starts were ass and barely representative of the elements that the series would become well-liked for.
So I'd definitely have to give it a good 5-10 chapters at least before I can form any opinion relating to whether it would be axed or not.
No, reg is white tanned, also he's a fucking robot
No others browns
Neat, I have too much self respect and not enough confidence in my sexuality to read MiA.
>everyone should tell elon musk to not build his hyperloops
I don't think we have to worry about that
>punching women off screen
Truly redpilled
The art is good but everything else is pretty bland, I wouldn't care if it got axed.
>trannies seething
good. even if it gets axed it already did gods work
Looks like really decent one-shot
What are you on about?
Exactly how I feel. I wish Jump would give a good writer to a decent artist like TPN or AA just for the hook.
The sci-fi setting is nice, I hope it succeeds.
Imagine being so defensive over this garbage manga. The story is shit. Characters are completely uninteresting and the first chapter was a mess. The only good thing is the art but it's fairly basic and the character designs are forgettable. This is another ne0;lation.
You're still here you insufferable cunt? shoo shoo, go shitpost somewhere else.
>artist like TPN
Nice joke
>I don't want to hear opinions that aren't mine.
This isn't the typical circlejerk you're used to.
This manga is doomed. The threads will be filled with underaged /pol/tards because some retard thinks it's a good idea to lure them.
Early TPN was nice. Posuka is shit now I admit.
I got bored after the first 7 pages, ninja mangas can only work in the Taisho and before era technology just makes ninjas look idk retarded.
>artist like tpn
heh
hehe
death note was in this magazine and most shonen have pointlessly complex battle system a little more effort going in to world building is a good thing.
Posuka is still a great artist but she's clearly someone who basically has zero real experience paneling combat/action. If she's doing stills/diorama/atmospheric kind of spaces she's amazing but a lot of the Goldy Pond action looked awful because she doesn't know how to convey kinetic energy and motion.
>technology
Dropped, what part of ninja cant this guy understand?
This is no Death Note.
She just wants to save the demons; give her a break
>Taking it slow isn't really an option when your series can be cancelled in four months.
I would say Chainsaw Man managed to have a hook in its first chapter while being pretty simple, i'm sure there are other examples.
>lightning
>gravitational
U wot
>fantasy canon
the duality of man
You can grab the audience's attention in the first 10 chapters. Jujutsu Kaisen did it. Clusterfuck first chapters are a bad way to start.
To be fair, the atmospheric, unnerving stills conveyed the tone of the first arc of TPN, which was the hook of the series and gave it deserved success. Iāve been lukewarm on the parts after that but Posuka was a good fit for what the series started out as.
right it's a lot more straight forward, I don't understand how anyone would think this was complicated there are only two ideas here.
Ninja's and cyberpunk.
>NOOOOO STOP IT WHERE'S MY REHASHED OLD STYLE NIP SETTING FOR THR 183758292747th TIME THIS CANT BE STOP USING A UNIQUE SETTING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH NOOOOOOOOO SAVE ME SHUEISHA
BASED
Ninjas are quite literally retarded in a modern setting as the modern equivalent of ninjas are glowniggers.
This first chapter is anything but straight forward.
I agree. Posuka really is a fantastic artist- so I don't want to sound like I'm shitting on her. It's just that it's clear she's basically a coffee table book/pixiv artist who does these amazing stills and dioramas, but not necessarily a mangaka. Manga paneling and drawing/conveying action and motion continuously is an entirely different skillset from what she has and it shows.
If you pay attention TPN is basically like watching the Star Wars Prequels. Beautiful establishing shots, then shot/reverse shot for conversation, then stinger page/panel, then shot/reverse shot for conversation into other establishing shots. There's not a lot of flow to it. The anime unironically gets this better even if the studio they had doing the 3d backgrounds did a fucking terrible job and shat out Google Sketchup-tier modeling.
Liking it so far
This is bozebeats all over again. Hack writer.
Of course, the one time my country gets mentioned in a manga, it's as background for some minor thug.
You have to go back.
but glownigers dont do cool shit, they outsorce the work to mercenaries aka "security companies" while giving orders from a fancy job. sometimes they torture innocent third worlders themselves tho, for the dopamine rush
I feel complicated is not the best word to use, it's more like there is a lot of information about the setting but none of it is interesting.
unless the rest of the squad is more likeable i give this 20 chapters. the concept seems interesting but the execution feels tepid
Also this was meant for
isnt Tokyo Shinobi Squad popular?
But Japan already has like half of these
its new retard, how is it popular
I didn't know Japan was filled with little Thai boys.
Looks like it's just going to use the cyberpunk as an aesthetic without delving into anything deeper. They're also probably going to just lazily hand wave a bunch of powers as tech.
/pol/ here
we're gonna have to take that page
thanks in advance
I dunno about the Thai boys but Japanese business sector is absolutely fucking mobbed up and it's hilarious that any of their media would suggest anything else.
>Looks like it's just going to use the cyberpunk as an aesthetic without delving into anything deeper.
You know absolutely nothing about that off a first chapter. And you retards are already complaining that's the manga's too complicated, you'd keep whining either way.
Reg is canonically supposed to look indian actually.
Later there are two more brown characters too, and Nanachi has brown fur. It's just one of the authors many fetishes I think.
I'm not saying this series won't be shit but you autists really are way too quick to judge a series. There's plenty of series with weak starts that turned out to be great over time. One chapter isn't enough.
one chapter is more than enough. shit is shit
It's a better first chapter than Samurai 8
which was also terrible
I'm not saying it's a high bar but hey.
In any case the series felt more "adult" than most modern Jump series. It's not really but I could see why children would think so.
>implying this is redpilled
This series was truly redpilled, but as you would expect the average normalfag on Yea Forums hated it
>And you retards are already complaining that's the manga's too complicated
I was saying the exact opposite. It looks too simple.
It's better in that the art is shaded enough that can tell what the fuck is going on without going crosseyed.
>anti globalization
Great manga.
Holy shit this manga is super based.
>anti-globalization
Terrible manga
that guy was the ultimate villain though.
The whole point is that dude and his party sucks and they get owned by the youths.
sexy
U19
>that guy was the ultimate villain though.
Exaclty and not getting why this is redpilled is what makes you and the average poster on Yea Forums bluepilled
It's better than Samurai 8
It was based at first, but then
>friends
>friends
>friends
walmart half-assed fairy tail.
U19.
The dude just screams Light Novel hero
>cool unaffected attitude
>fuck society maaan
>has the balls to call out wrongdoings but not enough to fix his own mistakes (ex laying tabs and being poor)
>hidden righteous heart of gold underneath
>decent enough looks for fujos and otomewhales to fawn over of it gets popular
>walmart half-assed fairy tail
Then you have Edens Zero. I can't believe I'm saying it but Mashima did a better job at sci-fi.
This hurts it more than anything. If he's a hired killer, why couldn't they just juxtapose him with the Thai kid instead of making him nice and friendly?
>>decent enough looks for fujos and otomewhales to fawn over of it gets popular
Not even that. This has zero fujo appeal
why is this boring artstyle so trending right now?
these titles look far too teen for jump.
that was the villain you enormous retarded faggot
>the main girl ain't a virgin
I mean...we don't know yet
>All these retards latching onto this garbage cuz Based! underage politics
Sad
>APO Hotel
Damn, this is really redpilled.
They talked about if she 'had someone over' and she casually replied that it wasn't his problem. She's meant to be pretty libertine at the least
>the main girl ain't a virgin
She will turn out to have been saving herself for the mc and only acts slutty to get his attention
>MC is biribiri
BASED AND REDPILLED
they'll get bored after a few weeks and go back to screaming about cucks or whatever
Edens Zero is cool because it fully uses its fantasy sci-fi setting
>little to like about her as a woman
Not true! She's hot
EZ is shit kid
I rate it 5/10. I would test it for a dozen chapters and then drop it.
Not much of a plot yet is there? The overarching plot seems just to be a rookie shinobi learning the ropes.
>Hyperloop mentioned
They need to show Elon Musk and his catgirl harem on Mars.
For you as well
>debut chapter thread
>already page 10
dead manga
