The Characters, especially Baki, do have a strange beauty to them. I'd bet that the author could draw some excellent romance manga if he wanted to.

I laughed when Jack started crying like a bitch "IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME FATHER!!!!" during the Father and Son fight.

Even his fighting style has turned to shit, in the Max Tournament arc he was really varied and adaptable
now he's just Haneyama except with biting instead of grabbing

Musashi's added technical finesse could probably still beat out Pickle and Sukune.

When Baki ate 200 kg of bear meat it impressed me. Do you know that bear meat is rich in protein and other elements that you risk poisoning? This is really a bomb for athletes and it requires special preparation. Baki is the first and last anime that motivated me to deal with sports and get stronger.

Baki was the one who set it up. Baki believed that Musashi didn't belong in the modern world. He beat Musashi and then had him sent back to the afterlife. He was aware that the only way they'd get Musashi to stay still for something like that was to keep his hands occupied, though.

the overarching theme of Baki-Dou (at least the Musashi stuff anyway, dunno where Itagaki's going with Sukune beyond trying to make Sumo great again) was people at the top of the food chain dealing with boredom or some shit, I'm sure someone here can explain it better than I can

Someone at the top doesn't need to be a edgy murderhobo faggot because there's no need to kill one another just to survive. Now you can still win without having to kill, still be buddies afterwards, and have more fun fights in the future because such a luxury can be afforded now.

He didn't mean that part. He meant about how Baki's play was both the resolution to his boredom - the first established plot point of Dou - and the means by which he beat Musashi. It's a pain in the ass to explain.

How would you salvage Jack at this point? He just seems to be going more and more off the deep end with his drugs and shit, I'm surprised he wasn't the one killed by Musashi honestly

Have him go full madman and kill some main fighter that should be above him, like the Yakuza. That'd make Yujiro notice him for once. Give an arc of having to deal with him, make it personal between him and Baki.

Might be too similar to Musashi so that's a problem.

What's next for Sukune? He got schooled by Baki pretty easily, so Yujiro is out of the question. Are we going to see more Sukune vs guys like Hanayama and Doppo?
