I wouldn't, he was the best part of the show. The only thing you could do was give him stuff to actually rip and tear when he's full dino, but his character was perfect.

He wasn't the problem

Nothing too much wrong with him. He could have used some more slice of life episodes both as a child and as a teen to further flesh him him.

Also, redo the last few episodes so he and 002 repopulate the klax race instead of dying.

You can't fix perfection.

By actually making him into the stubborn sociopath everyone claimed he would be.

Give him more screen time as a dino.

You fix him by fixing the show he's in.

I wouldn't have pussied out on the physical change til the last second and had it start occurring after ep 6. Slow build up of changes that would finally be obvious right about 15. It would have cemented a lot of his personality and fixed many of the issues with the cast, such as Ichigo's actions in 15 or Goro being his best friend to confide in being dropped completely.

He never confided in Goro. Even in episode 5 he tried to get around Goro by telling him as little as possible. He never confided in any ningen, not once.

He asked Goro to keep the secret from Ichigo, confiding in him to keep his word when he had no other choice. And this would have been excellent fuel for character development, Both realizing how he's growing apart from them mentally and later physically, and how they would handle that.

Make him the same as his childhood version by the episode 15 and give him the fucking dino horns long before the ending.

Hiro was just a horny virgin who died as a kamikaze bomber.
To save Hiro, make him have sex like his riajuu friend Mitsuru.

hiro fine its episode 19-24 that are the issue. eva style director's cut episodes never.

The war ends in Episode 21. They fight Klaxxohime and her super-Klaxxosaur, but 02 (as a clone) cancels her out. She dies mentioning that the kids are pawns who are being used, which shakes them really badly.

All the Franxx are shut down, and the Parasites are recalled into concentration camps for processing. Hiro plans a breakout. However, Plantation 13 is targeted for extreme sanction, and they send the Nines to stop them. Hachi and Nana show up piloting a Franxx (the one that was meant for Hiro and Naomi) and heroically die buying time. Dr. Franxx gives Hiro the override to reactivate all the Franxx, and Hiro rallies the Parasite forces. A huge battle ensues between the Parasite forces and APE's forces. The good guys are losing, but 02 uses her Klaxxosaur Queen powers, and summons an army of Klaxxosaurs to break the line.

Plantation 13 battles their Nines counterparts, as Hiro races off to confront Papa and APE. Mitsuru starts freaking out, but Ikuno / Futoshi throw themselves into the path of a spear meant for him. Ikuno and Futoshi die.

Remembering everything, Mitsuru starts kicking ass (putting out levels of sheer power he couldn't manage before) and Plantation 13 overcomes the Nines. This is foreshadowing.

Hiro duels Alpha. Alpha has a super-Franxx, and begins to crush the life of out Strelizia. Hiro reveals his Klaxxosaur horns, and he turns the tide with a surge of power. It's revealed that there are three people piloting Strelizia, instead of two: 02 is pregnant. This also explains why Genista's abruptly more powerful. Hiro meets APE's council, and tells Papa that the war is over. Papa agrees to his terms, and takes off his helmet. It's revealed that Papa is Hiro's father. He takes his defeat gracefully, and says:

> "After all, a man can be forgiven...For having some pride in his son."

APE leaves the planet, the Parasite forces repopulate it. In the ending, we see a giant sakura tree, and half-Klaxxosaurs running around.

He problem with his character is that he is the single must important person in the show that gave everyone a name and also has half of the group sucking his dick,but he just isn't interesting in any way shape or form

All of this would help make him a better more grounded character.But 02 is attached to him so he would still be terrible
