And this is why I am mad. They ignored an entire fight with the turtle and are surely going to ignore this one too and jump inside the turtle straight away.

I think the changes were made so things could be done in a "realistic" manner. Since the ln had rtaphtalia and firo beheading the tortoise after charging up for a long time and then in the second fight naofumi had to tank it for one whole fucking hour until fitoria came.

Yeah, Raphtalia and Filo did that but Naofumi tanked the turtle while buying them time and almost got killed several times (and only survived because of the ceremonial magic of the coalition), it wasn't a breeze. Not to mention the Shield power up system of trust.
On the second fight Naofumi had to tank it but he wasn't attacked with the laser that destroys mountains like in the first fight and the entire party and Ost were helping him while down on the turtle, he also made use of the Wrath series to weaken the turtle.
I am going to be cynical and say that the changes were made so that they wouldn't have to use 10+ chapters on each fight because the people in charge of the manga are lazy or there is some editorial fuckery going on.

Naofumi WAS attacked by the laser/thunder breath. And it was only Ost and firo helping him tank the tortoise for the hour. The latter assisting naofumi with spells and the shield and the other taking down familiars. The wrath shield didn't do that much since the curse was overcome with the tortoise's vitality. And even though it did help him out tank the laser, it didn't prevent the SP drain. He had to switch between the soul eater and Wrath shields since the former prevents drain effects but wasn't strong enough to fully block the laser's damage.

Raphtalia is pregnant confirmed.

Yeah, it wasn't easy but it was believable between the confines and inner logic of the Light Novel, 90% of the fight is spent below the turtle in the second fight compared to always in front in the fist fight since it was obvious this turtle was much stronger that the first one. and they tried the Filo + Raph combo but the turtle grew another head and started walking like nothing happened. He had the help of Ost with her OP magic this time. It was chaotic and fun to read and he almost died multiple times.
What happened in the manga makes even less sense since we have to believe the turtle was defeated by a weakened version of L'Arc, Glass and Therese, instead of the very slightly weakened Shield Hero and his OP party with the help of an entire coalition army.

The turtle arc is the worst arc in my opinion, It drags a lot but the arc that comes next is the best one by far.
