This is a true story:

I was browsing /a one time looking for another harem manga to torture myself with because I never pick the right girl when I stumbled across a go-toubun thread. I noticed a lot of people were posting genki Yotsuba and she caught my attention, you could say because of this she was first girl for me. In the thread she seemed to be the only quint that posters weren’t speaking unfavourably about so I asked the thread. “Is Yotsuba best girl?” In which multiple anons immediately responded “Yes user she’s best girl!”. From there I was hooked and decided to read and catch up by the time I was done it was the end of scrambled eggs and despite Yotsuba not being the main focus of any arcs it was true, /a hadnt lied to me for once, they were right she truly was best girl! I could see Negi had planted seeds for her all along the way in the story and since scrambled eggs she’s been a main focus and revealed as lolikano.

Finally Nip timeskips past their rosy highschool tend not to work well as the crushing reality of wageslavery sets in, they could do some university.

It's pretty common for authors to write a blatant loser that gets way more development than the winner on purpose, especially since being the loser means that she's allowed agency to follow her own plot threads or chase the protagonist aggressively.

It's been days since the ichika one was posted, meanwhile it's been only a few hours for Nino.

We say that was dropped from the F-bowl, but if she did, so did Miku since last arc gave proper closures to the character arcs of both of them, not just Ichika.

The final arc will be about Miku and Nino. Itsuki will have nothing to do once the Lolikano arc is over. Miku and Nino's response were delayed in order to be the final conflict. Nino and Miku were set up as opposites/rivals since the beggining so it wouldn't be surprising if they were planed to be the final heroines all along. In all seriousness Miku will probably win. The winner is usually the heroine that has had the most on screen time/development which is undoubtedly Miku followed by Ichika.
Nino only really got a surge in development midway through after being Yotsuba tier for a long time so its unlikely Negi intended on having her win.
Yotsuba has been neglected way too much so her entry now is probably just a red herring victor so that Miku's victory will come as a surprise.
Itsuki is the same as Yotsuba and will undoubtedly get the same treatment Yotsuba is currently getting to make both of them seem obvious so Miku's win comes as a surprise.

If he'd been that set on giving her a rejection (which the Japanese used in 71 doesn't automatically imply, regardless of what Nino thought), he would have done so. She asked that he wait. He obliged. That in and of itself is a bit of a sign as well.

OTOH, Miku's feelings have been entirely one sided thus far. Maybe she changed that after 86, but we haven't seen it yet. He spent all those chapters since 67 not caring about her feelings as anything special.
