Yes

Isekai is the best genre now

Mecha used to represent everything wrong with the industry

The canary in the coal mine for anime.

speaks for itself

...

I kind of liked it.

No. They're just having a series of bad slips with their tropes

>Recent Gundams are all failing because they act too stupid either too early or at very important moments
>Delta was a snooze thanks to the "Triangle" being utterly meaningless
>Code Geass just went full fucking aliens
>Aquarion Evol drug the name through the dirt so bad that the next installment was essentially unrelated to the OG premesis
>Who knows what's going on with VOTOMS

Mecha will get its glory back eventually though.

>Mecha is everything wrong with the industry
>Mecha gets its own board

>Isekai is now everything wrong woth the industry

Does this mean we will get an Isekai board?

Gundam Thunderbolt gives me hope we enter an age of high quality mech OVAs

That movie is the first Gundam I've liked in like, five years.

Someone just needs to figure out how to market these to kids again instead of manchildren stuck in the past

No.

You meant franxx I imagine.

Yes, mecha abandoning it's space opera roots and making it more about young people in charge of space killed the genre.

Everything wrong with mecha stems from replacing average joes with autistics, and newtypes, and otaku.

One thing is that mecha isn't cool, but another issue is that almost every mecha series in the last 10+ years has made some dumb mistakes.
We occasionally still see some mecha anime get popular in the wider anime community, but then they end up failing because the creators don't know what they're doing.

Mecha creators keep making low action, high dialogue shows in a genre that needs more action, and less talk.

The current trend of the genre seems to be convinced that economics needs to be solved with giant robots and battleships.

Imagine talking shit about mecha when you haven't even watched Fafner.
