Personally, I'm fine with a slower pace if it can still match the important beats in the chapters it adapts. The most worrying thing that could come from this pace is if a 2nd season is made, and the longer fight-centric arcs like the red light district start to feel like a slog.

I think the slower pacing can help make certain parts have more weight and breathing room, like the first four episodes where shit went by incredibly fast in the manga (no doubt cuz of the looming fear of the almighty axe), and there I understood the slower pacing of the anime. But now, after all the set-up and initial training, I dunno, it seems a bit much? Episode 6 in particular felt like it dragged out sooo much for no real reason, and I haven't even read much of the manga

There’s another shounen manga running now in WSJ drawn and written by a woman (Jujutsu), and it’s a popular speculation that Haikyuu is written by a woman. Plus, quite a few popular shounen manga in the past have been written by women, FMA and Magi to name a couple. Lots seinen and, of course, josei manga have been written by female authors as well. It’s not really that rare or unusual, they just tend to not really announce their gender and other parts of their identities for pretty obvious reasons.

So this is where the introductory episodes end and the pure shounenshit begins. I didn't expect to be this bored and skipping ahead after only 8 episodes.

There's four Upper Moons left, plus Muzan and the MC is out of commission. We have gotten into none of the history of the Sun Breath and Nezuko isn't even involved in the arc. It's impossible for this to be the last arc unless this becomes a 50-hour single night and everything ends up bloated as fuck. That spread of all the Pillars was clearly inserted to look cool and be a chance to depict all of them in his style, it wouldn't be necessary if he actually intended to give them all arcs.

Fight itself was fine. It's the replays they used in some parts of the episode, very noticeably after ad break.

They add some unnecessary scenes. I think if we cut the recap (both at the beginning and after commercial break) and Yuchirou punch susamaru the episode should finish at susamaru's death.

I thought the fight was fine, they just forcibly extended the episode and slowed the action down, inserting reused material to interrupt the fight and make the pace totally feel unnatural. Stuff like having Susamaru have stretches of time where she did nothing so they could monologue or think or cue anime filler was dumb. There's no reason they couldn't have removed all that and at least adapted up until Yahaba's death in Chapter 18. They seem so focused on always ending on a cliffhanger that was the end of a manga chapter.

Also, this isn't their fault but in my opinion the arrow animation felt so out of place and dumb, maybe just the sound effects and color but it really didn't fit the tone of the fight.

I would drop the series, it was stupid as a weakness to begin with but excusable so early in the series. It killed her indiscriminately, it makes no logical sense. She said the name of Muzan because she was tricked with a demon art. That means by default she said it to another demon who would presumably also know who Muzan is. In reality, it was two people (Tamayo and Tanjiro) who had personally met and challenged Muzan. It's just dumb. Killing her means all the enemies he sent her to attack got away and caused him fucktons of trouble in the long run.

I dont think it applies to Upper Moons, besides maybe slapping them around a bit. The curse was put there because Muzan has too many stupid fodder demons roaming around, something that irks him since the start of the series. Its a safe measure to keep their mouths shuts and not attract attention to himself on his lives. I doubt the likes of Kokushibou or Akaza need that kind of leash, since for starters, Muzan isnt expecting any Demon Hunter to survive meeting them.

In the manga I got the feeling that armpit-chan had say Muzans name with derogatory intent because of Tamayo spell of sincerity and its why her own blood turned on her. But I probably imagined that.

In these past chapters, it has occurred to me that witnessing Inosuke without his boar mask, as beautiful as he may be, feels wrong and unsettling.

It may be because he doesn't frequently take it off, but unlike other characters whose face is hidden, Inosuke puts me at unease when he's not wearing his mask. As if that is not how it should be, as if I'm not suppose to see what I'm seeing.

I believe his face is beautiful, he is a very pretty guy, who makes me question my sexual orientation. His eyes are that of a beautiful girl, and so is the structure of his face. Capturing his beauty on paper doesn't come easy, I bet.

His hair are also very comforting, barely reaching shoulder level, they appear soft, like those of a pretty young lady.

It all seems wonderful, as long as its hidden below his boar mask, which appears as if it's purposely there to seal away that beautiful, mysterious gaze of his.

I still recall of a scene in a chapter where Inosuke peeked out of his mask, ever so slightly, to grab something to eat. I couldn't help but freeze myself for a second, and stare at his face, focused on the task of consuming the food that stood before him. That very face, felt as if it was a blessing, which no mere human like myself was allowed to experience.

In recent chapters, there's a lot of mask-less Inosuke, which creates a disturbing sensation which goes down my spine every time I see a panel representing him. Is this right? Should I look away? Should I keep reading as if nothing was happening?

How could I possibly pretend that his face didn't give me a feeling of discomfort. That was simply not possible. Panel after panel, he is there, as precious and graceful as ever, perhaps even more than usual.

To think that one day, in the near future, his face will be animated, makes me feel even more upset. If mere panels in the Manga have this overwhelming effect on me, what of a full-fledged Animation? How could anyone, anyone at all, withstand such a thing?

See it this way, if they actually went the "lol lets just do the good stuff" route, then the adaption loses its coherence as a standalone product. The "best stuff" is usually the best because it had emotional buildup in the stretches that you may think get too much screentime. Reading the manga as "homework" becomes mandatory and you end up with some pacing hell "best of" shitshow like the Index adaptions usually are, with everyone crying "but...but...where way my favorite little comfy moment that totally should have been included". Same way I think FMA Brotherhood made a mistake when they hurried through the early arcs because "everyone already saw that in the first series". That's a shit approach to an adaption. Do it properly or don't do it at all.

Because literally nothing interesting was happening. Sure if you write it down it sounds like fun and maybe a little bit unconventional but the execution was absolutetly generic. I mean, you have one demon that has 6 arms and can throw balls really hard (?) and thats about it. Their abilities are just so inconsistent. She can summon these balls at will but doesn't do that when it's necessary, they have fucking 6 balls ricocheting all over the room but still somehow missing stationary targets? The arrow demon is shown creating arrows where ever he wants in the beggining like here but then when Tanjirou is charging him he only makes them close to himself from one direction??

Index 3 was a fucking tragedy. 9 LN volumes, most of which were 300-400 pages a volume in 26 episodes, 3 episodes a volume. I’ve heard about how rushed DAL was too but I myself didn’t watch it. OPM2 looks awful but it’s still a bit better than Index 3 turned out to be.

Lets just hope Ufotable sticks with us for the next seasons.
