Hellsing ultimate

Can we just talk about how fucked up. Daring and deep Hellsing is?
Shit's a real fucking diamond in the middle of a river of blood and gore and fucked up imagery

wew lad

Hellsing is the best piece of media ever created and if you disagree you're wrong get rekt by facts and logic libtard

why is there such a lack of gruesome, horror and gory with some comedy anime in the industry

Imagine being such a faggot, you managed to ruin a Hellsing thread. OP is a faggot.

Y'all dumb hipsters who hate something just cuz it's popular.

I like Alcardo cuz he's got a wicked sense of humour like me

Ah. The return of the why boner.
WITH A VENGEANCE

Boy do I love sucking dicks

I love how Alucard lost all respect for him when he threw away his humanity to try and kill him.

Have a real priest.

>Daring and deep Hellsing is
kek

It's an enjoyable show, an entertaining while trashy vampire story, has funny and mostly interesting characters and poetic imagery. It's definitely a great anime, but...
>Daring and deep
...is going too far.

trying too hard

I loved it. I think it was 2009 that I started watching them plus read the manga. Its always nice when you read a completed manga story especially when there was like a 10 year hiatus or something.
The movies were great, the change was obvious when it went to a new studio but it was still really good.
I wish the mangaka wasn't such a lazy cunt cos the prequel would have been great. Now he's doing Drifters and that has its fair share of hiatus as well.
Hellsing Ultimate is probably the last of the 'manly' animes, with the 3 golden age arc berserk movies being an exception.

I like the heartfelt conversation they had at the end.
It's like Anderson was the only person who could truly understand alucard. Having just thrown away his humanity and seen how empty he became afterwards.
How after becoming like Alucard. He finally understood him.
>Implying Anderson is not a real priest.
We can get into the killing vampires and heathens thing later. But look at him with the orphans!
That's the only priest I'd feel safe having around my kids
OK maybe for anime cucks it isn't exactly anything new to see shit like rape. Childhood trauma and fucked up shit like the Rip Van Winkle death. But for anyone outside that circlejerk you gotta admit. It's fucking shocking. Seras victoria's childhood? Brutal man. Maybe other animes have outdone the fuckery. I find it still well executed however.
As for deep. I won't back down from that. I find it's one of the deepest animes in terms of philosophy I have ever watched.
I think I agree with you mostly.
But I believe Hirano didn't complete the dawn because it might interfere with how he viewed the story originally.
I mean for starters he gives the Captain a name. Which....
Doesn't that kind of interfere with the point of him calling the Captain. The Major and the doctor just by their names? Like the whole point of de-humanizing them?
Yeah the captain is more human than most self proclaimed humans. But I think he just realized that the dawn would just fuck with the original story's themes. Which is why I believe he dropped it

Jesus, user, it’s just a cartoon

I want to fuck the omnipresent Nazi catboy

MY WAIFU IS REAL AND YOU CAN'T CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
NO THAT'S MY WAIFU

>But I think he just realized that the dawn would just fuck with the original story's themes. Which is why I believe he dropped it
I think he just fell out of interest of that world because it at an ending.
I think them having names didn't matter so much. The 40's had them at their original incarnations so it makes sense that they would have names instead of strictly aliases.
It seemed like the entire highlight of the prequel was to find out how Walter flipped but that he had nothing else to go with.
Maybe he figured that Alucard would have logically hosed them all down right there and then and just cbf writing the story around those plot points.
He's a bit of a wasted potential honestly. His character designs are great and while the stories of Hellsing and Drifters aren't original, it is an interesting spin with a good amount of violence and action that appeals to anyone who likes the 80's and 90's mangas.

>drifters boring as fuck
>loli alucard series in forever hiatus

Yeah.... You're probably more right...
I honestly really loved walter after the first 5 episodes or so... I wanted to see more of that lovely old prick. And his fight with Alucard was satisfying in a way? But I just wish he'd had more fights like the one with Yan.
As for why he flipped out. I think it was just pride. It's reflected in how arrogant he sounds when he gets younger. As if his years of masking his insecurity that Alucard was this demi-god he can't even touch just messed with his younger mind. And all he wanted ever since them was to beat him.
I honestly don't understand his motivation all that much.
Whether that's intentional or not. I think it's best left up for people's interpretation.
At first. I thought he wanted to end Dracula's misery personally. But after closer investigation. It just seems perfectly described as a "Childish squabble".
Like he needed to get it out of his system. Be the greatest vampire hunter before he would die.
Well. It's sad he died a monster. A monster of arrogance and pride.

Attached: Wartah.jpg (1920x1080, 305K)

I think he realized just how much of an asspull walter’s betrayal actually was

>I find it's one of the deepest animes in terms of philosophy I have ever watched.
I acknowledge that as your opinion. In my view, a work of fiction must try to convey a message to qualify as "deep", otherwise it's just aforementioned "poetic imagery" (philosophical or not) - which doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.
May I ask what, in your opinion, is the message Hellsing tries to convey that it qualifies as deep?

this

Seras Victoria is such a cutie pie in the dub.
I just wanna take her home and give her back massages and hold her close.

It gave us nothing more than a cool fight scene and an empty feeling in the end. Sadly
It's several really. one idea at it's core. Is strength of character.
There is a strike of brilliance in the show in that every monster used to be a human at some point.
All of them vampires. And almost all by their own will.
There are literal monsters who are monsters in form. But however character is always different between the too.
Seras victoria. She drank blood of her own will. She became a full fledged vampire.
Alucard. He drank blood. He became a full fledged vampire.
They both suffered some fucked up traumatic shit as childhood. But one came out as a strong. Law enforcing well adjusted member of society. And the other came out as a monster. Waging wars and killing thousands....
They both went after who hurt them as children... But Seras wasn't insane.
Alucard put all of his faith in god. It became the only thing he had while he was being raped and god became his justification for being a wee bit insane.
He's like Anderson in that he put his own judgement and life aside in dedication for being a sword for god. And when it finally came back to bite him in the ass. He pussed out of it. He was afraid of death. Regretful of his actions. He just decided to give up on his last remaining shred of humanity. After having spent years as a tool. He now spends decades as a monster. When he drank blood. He drank for his own selfish fears.
Seras drank blood because of the ones she loved and had to protect. She didn't drink blood because she was in danger. It was because everyone else was in danger. Her love now killed. Her mission in jeopardy. She was strong willed enough to not succumb to power.
But it didn't come all from herself.
At first. Religion and literal divine intervention stopped her lust at first.
After that it was a caring family and a support

Cont.
circle that snapped her out of her monstrous behavior. When Sir Integra noticed her ripping apart the ghouls like a blood thirsty maniac.
She maintained her humanity through all the shit she was given. Soemthing Alucard failed at.
Alucard... He takes the monster thing to heart. It's his new identity because he has nothing left.
His only joys in life is sadistic torment for the poor unfortunate souls which happen to cross his path.
He lives for the thrill of being challenged. If you look at him. All he wants to see is someone to rise up agaisnt the odds and fight through and through after all hope is lost. Something which he has failed to do.
Fitting that that's what the Major did. Shot and left for dead. He refused what Alucard had succumb to. Thus making him in his eyes more than Alucard's equal.
The major saw in Alucard what he despised the most. A weak will. He saw himself as better than that because he had a stronger will and thus thought that made him human.
But the major was never human to begin with.
And that distinction is part of what I love about hellsing.
Why would a werewolf. Enlisted in an army of a thousand Nazis be carrying around a human first aid kit?
It can't be for the major. What the major needs in case of a serious injury is a bloody mechanic. Not first aid.
The Captain's exchange with hienkel displays a level of humanity unseen by many of the show's other "human" characters. It shows mercy and the strength to spare.
What does the Captain shooting Hienkel say to us about him?
He only shot her to save her! There's no way she would've survived after pissing off Walter. So why would the Nazi werewolf shoot her?
Why is he stopping his enemy from attacking his enemy and being killed by his enemy?
You could say that Walter is his ally at that point. But that still would leave only the explanation of mercy and the desire to stop more unnecessary bloodshed.
Something obviously Alucard. Maxwell and even Integra have been...

Cont.
shown to not give a single fuck about.
There's a certain level of legitimate brilliance in the writing of many scenes that leave so much for me personally to pick apart and enjoy.
When Seras is telling Alucard to have mercy on the human soldiers. That they're just humans....
She is of the belief that they're just doing their jobs. They don't know better.
Alucard is fishing for his own killer. The new van hellsing.
Seras doesn't want any of that. She wants as little bloodshed as possible.
When Anderson sees the full fledged vampire seras victoria. His first instinct is not to shoot her full of bayonnets like he did in the first episode when she was acting monstrously. His first instinct is to comment on her humanity.
He doesn't see a monster in her.
To her. To him. And to everyone else she's just as human.

There's something that needs to be said about characters here.
Alucard. He sees himself as less than human.
New monsters see themselves as more than human. And Seras sees herself as human. It's what you identify as that reflects on what you do...
The show also has a lot to say about religion and faith in the character of Anderson and his posse of vampire hunters.
A lot to say about willpower and the strength of unadulterated human desire in the character of the Major.
A lot to say about the sheer horrible aspects that we don't like to associate with humans that are inherent to humanity by the characters of the Major. The Sultan and the robbers.
And even the Uncle of Integra.
The show has a lot to say about almost everything. Really.
The name of Rip Van Winkle is descriptive of the Nazis. Having just emerged from their cave after 50 years to see a changed world. One unlike the one they were in when they entered their cave.
In it's almost 10 hours of show it has a lot to say about almost anything it shows.
One user here a long time ago even said "Is Hellsing just a metaphor about how rape strips us of our humanity?"

Last.
Humanity. Faith. Religion. Pride. And what it takes to create a monster.
Identity. Trauma. Self destruction. Depression. Anger. Willpower. Strength of character. And the most vile aspects of humanity.
Despair. Conviction. And a desire to see your dream and work through.
The character strengths of integra and the weakness in Anderson.
The power of a blood lusted human and the hopelessness of a 3 million people that stood in the way of his dream.
All of this...
And the ingenuity in how all of this presented.
How fucking high can you be to decide to shoot a vampire sucking blood like a porno rape scene. Throw in some opera in the middle as if it is some high-class shit. And then for your major ending you throw in close to a thousand Nazis just watching it as if they're getting off to it? Enjoying it and what it means for them?
How many levels of fucked up brilliance is this own? The suspense and the fucking sounds... It's legitimately scary. Daring and haunting!
I was with my ex when she showed me this show. And when this scene came I flipped my shit.
HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THE GENIUS of how all of that was presented?
I honestly just love Hellsing. And I find that it's hard to get some really good conversation about it going.
Maybe I look into it a lot. But not too much.
All the things I saw in it were things that already were there.

"Frail... Sobbing. Children"
"Lord. I will not kneel in prayer for my salvation"
"OMAE WA OREDA!"
I don't know man. It all just stuck with me.
I've wanted to talk about this show for so long now...

Attached: Rip.jpg (1920x1080, 201K)

One last sidenote. I absolutely adore the abridged series and almost have it memorized word for word.
It's short. Sweet. Some good comedy. And most importantly it UNDERSTANDS the source material.
When Anderson sees victoria in the abridged version. He isn't seeing the original seras. He's seeing seras that drank blood because count dracula told her to GO FUCK SHIT UP.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Hellsing ultimate..

Yeah man I always took Walters turn is just solely down to the fact that Walters ego was originally so massive that he felt he was the strongest. Alucards power humbled Walter but deep down he hated having to acknowledge Alucards strength and desperately wanted to to be stronger than him. I think it seems so odd because Walter the person we see, serving tea and being humble to Integra is completely different to the ego we see of him in the prequel which matches his vampiric form.

>Hirano-style Kotomine
Nice

Bruh hellsing is literally a michael bay movie, what are you on about

REKT

It's a deeply philosophical piece of media behind a wall of michael bay shenanigans

Thank you for the detailed answer.

While most of what you described could be simplified as my initial "interesting characters" (see ) since you - at first - merely pointed out how well developed the main characters are, that alone wouldn't have qualified as a deeper meaning since deep characters != deep story. Anyways, it's nice to see some appreciation for characterizing details many plebs would have missed.
>It's what you identify as that reflects on what you do.
This on the other hand is exactly the kind of message I was asking for.

Like I wrote earlier:
>It's definitely a great anime

I would admit defeat but I'm kinda tsundere about it so don't misunderstand, we're just agreeing that Hellsing is good indeed.

B-baka!

I liked the bits when they would shoot guns.
>pew pew

Rip Van was best girl.

>Dear diary. Today I 100% won an internet argument. Sincerely. Me.
Seriously tho your reply made my day.

Holy fuck! You really are 14.

At least I'm one whole year older than you faggot.

Manga was better, Tublacain specifically...but not exclusively. I'll take the TV broadcast, thank you please.

Feels more like 4-1/2, black out drunk 14 year olds don't do that.

Never read most of the manga actually.
I just cross-referenced some shots they did in the anime to see if they were as emphasized as they were in the anime.
And yeah it kinda seemed like it

Maybe but you still have autism which I don't.

I want to fuck the catboy.
