Phantom World

Maybe it wasn't that terrible, just bad.
Kurumi's episode aside, the rest are not that bad. What could have made this series good? I feel like the MC is just terrible and there were too many other characters. The episodic nature hurt it more since they tried to give everyone an episode.

That's not saying much, but you would be wrong either way. Ufo, Baioretto, and Kobayashi are already light years ahead. Fujos could comment on Free.

Episodic series must be carried by a cast of interesting characters. Did Phantom World have a single interesting character? No.

Watched this series for the first time earlier this year. I rather enjoyed it, some really well done animation and the characters were enjoyable (All the girls who weren't Kurumi that is).
My gripes would have to be that they could have cut 1-2 episodes and put actually put more story in instead of smashing it into the final 3-4 episodes.
That and make his "mom" come back much earlier so we can get some SoL shenanigans with her in those episodes we do keep (Shota MC episode for instance?). It would've made her twist near the end so much better.

I meant replace 1-2 SoL episodes with actual story ones.

Everything else are different kinds of shit.

They were extra one dimensional, but I enjoyed Mai the most (orgasmic body aside). I guess the early date, her tomboyish attitude, and taking care of shota Haru won me over.

Even as a lolicon, Kurumi should have been erased, give Albrecht to Koito or some shit.

They set up the company in the first two episodes, but completely ignored it after. Removing Kurumi's episode would have been completely fine. Having the mother come back for just one extra episode wouldn't have been bad.
