It’s interesting how there’s no real transition like that for part 6 which instead opting with just reusing Jotaro to meet Joylene. Part 2 as well but perhaps You could argue speedwagons presence at the start with Straitzo and Joesphs backstory but not really.

A one to one adaption of the manga has severe pacing issues, especially since they feel the need to keep the exposition that explains why they are doing what they're doing and what they are doing. Even the animation is pretty much mostly just the manga panels with a voiceover.

Well I think an adaption shouldn't necessarily be 1:1 because they're two different mediums. I'm not saying make big changes to anything substantial like plot points or characterisation, but if you can keep the intent of the exposition while changing the delivery method for something more suitable for animation then it would be a better idea.
Also quite a lot of the exposition currently included could be cut without much impact. Generally when an attack happens onscreen somebody reacts to it in a way that doesn't offer anything to the viewer, they just kinda state what is happening and their surprise at the events, which is fine in the manga because reading is quick, but it just drags in animation. I can probably go find some examples but I'm sure everyone knows what I'm on about. It would probably annoy some people who want everything in the manga adapted but I really don't see the point in making an inferior version, which is what the result of that is.

It's only the stand parts that have this problem because everything needs to be explained, if you go back and watch part 2 the pacing is actually incredible.

Of course King Crimson would work in a timestop. The act of stopping time has a beginning and an end so even if you stopped time for a hundred years King Crimson would just skip it like it was nothing.

IIRC Araki said he thinks time stop is the most powerful ability, so I feel like he wouldn't write it like that.

That or he just thinks that SP would much KC in one time stop so it doesn't matter that he can predict it.

Personally, I think a good way to think about it is that what Star Platinum does during time stop happens outside of time and since it doesn't happen within what Epitaph would be able to see, King Crimson can't do anything about it unless he erases the exact moment he uses timestop, which unless Diavolo already knows Jotaro's ability, he wouldn't know when to do
